Day 2 Corfu Island ‐ Sivota ‐ Parga ‐ Lefkas Island (apx 28 km/17 mi.) In the morning we will cross over to Sivota. Here we start our ride to Parga, a pretty town with a medieval fort which towers over the old town. The boat then takes us to Nidri on Lekas Island. On our way we pass the original swing‐bridge which connects Lefkas with the Greek mainland. Day 3 Islands of Lefkas and Cephalonia (apx. 35 km/22 mi.) The route today takes us from Nidri first to nearby waterfalls. Along quiet roads through the mountains past Sivros we cycle later to the har‐ bour in Sivota. After a short sail we anchor at Porto Katsiki, one of the most famous beaches in Greece, for a nice refreshing swim. Then the ship brings us to Fiskardo, where we spend the night. The harbour town on the Northern point of the island will charm you with its colourful houses and numerous cafés and bars along the picturesque harbour promenade. Day 4 Cephalonia Island ( 39 km / 24 mi.) Today we go from Fiskardo to Sami, riding along the high road of the western coast of the island, where we enjoy some unforgettable views, including the panoramic view down to Myrtos beach. We will cross through the interior of the island and finally reach the eastern coast of Cephalonia with the harbour of Sami. On the way we will visit the stalac‐ tite and stalagmite caves of Melissani, which is done in row boats. In late afternoon crossover to Ithaca. Day 5 Ithaca and Meganisi ( 21 + 13 km/13 + 8 mi.) Ithaca, the homeland of the mythical king Odysseus is a hilly island with a beautiful landscape. On today’s route we can enjoy the typical Greek landscape‐gnarly olive trees, sandy beaches and turquiose water. From Frikes the boat takes us to the small island of Meganisi. On the way we pass the private island of Aristoteles Onassis. Meganisi is a tiny island with lots of charm, which we will explore in the afternoon in no time by bicycle. Day 6 Mytikas – Lefkas town (49 km/30 mi.) In the morning we cross over to Mytikas on the Greek mainland. From Mytikas we will ride along the coast , passing some mountain villages until we reach the town of Lefkas. In the afternoon we sail to Paxos is‐ land, whose unique natural harbour in Gaios gives it a unique atmos‐ phere. We can spend the evening in a cozy tavern taking in the local fla‐ vour. Day 7 Islands of Paxos and Corfu (23 km/14 mi.) Paxos, the smallest of the seven Ionian Islands is a grove of olive trees, giving the island its wonderful silver green colour. On today’s route we will circle the entire island. We can have our last swim in the Mediterra‐ nean on one of the many beaches. After lunch the boat returns to Corfu town, where, after dinner on board, you end your tour leisurely with an evening in the romantic historical town centre.     Ionian Islands & suggested itineraries The Ionian Sea is one of the most idyllic cruising areas of the Mediterranean. Crystal clear turquoise waters, charming little villages, spectacular countryside and a pleasant north westerly breeze which rarely exceeds force 5, make it a sailor’s paradise! It is located at the western side of mainland Greece and it stretches all the way from Corfu in the north to Zante in the south. The Ionian Sea is one of our favorite cruising areas, so we’ll try to describe the islands for you here, although it’s difficult to put in words their real beauty! One thing that makes the western side of Greece different is the lush vegetation, which consists mostly of olive groves, vineyards, a variety of fruit trees but also pine and cyprus forests. And all that, thanks to the high rainfall that this area receives in the winter, between November and March. With the exception of the two bigger and more touristy islands (Corfu and Zante), the rest are off the beaten track and the best way to visit them is by yacht, as they don’t even have ports or airports. The locals who are mostly fishermen and farmers are very laid back and friendly, so we are not surprised when we often hear our guests mention that during their evening walk they were invited by an old lady to her garden for a cup of coffee! For our cruises we have chosen Lefkas as a base, because it is located in the center of the Ionian Islands.

Tere are only three coastal settlements here and several mountain-clinging villages further inland. Eastern coast has several beaches with fine pebbles, while the western coast is craggy cliffs with occasional grottoes accessible only from the sea. Unlike Corfu, Paxi is not a popular tourist destination, but it is impossible not to love this island if you serendipitously stumble upon it.

Historical and instrumental earthquakes had a major impact on the coastal landscape, as they had caused nearshore landslides, rockfalls, tsunami-induced flooding, and several centimetres coastal uplift and subsidence. Appreciable coseismic displacements were calculated at discrete points designating the coastlines after applying an elastic model and considering the coseismic slip of the 2003 (M 6.3) and 2015 (M 6.5) Lefkada earthquakes, and the 2014 Cephalonia Island doublet (M 6.1 and M 6.0), the latter being of negligible importance. Subsidence and uplift of several centimetres were calculated along the western Lefkada coastline, depending upon the position of the calculation point relative to the causative rupture and permanent localised uplift for certain areas. For the eastern Lefkada coastline, the coseismic slips resulted in unremitting subsidence. The respective horizontal coseismic coastal displacements were more profound, consistent with the predominant strike-slip movement. The calculations along with the historical macroseismic effects comprise the basis for both the countermeasures related to coastal preservation and mitigation of the seismic risk from landslides and rock falls that appear in synchronization with the coseismic slip.
