Natuurgidsen van het VMPA begeleiden u tijdens deze ± 2 uren durende wandelingen.
Iedereen is welkom op een VMPA-natuurwandeling, de deelname is gratis.
Geschikt schoeisel voorzien, soms laarzen (L). (R) geschikt voor rolstoelgebruikers.
Let op plaats van samenkomst en vertrekuur!
Honden zijn niet toegelaten om medewandelaars en de natuur niet te storen.
Reservatie verplicht per mail vermeld bij de gekozen wandeling.

All available biostratigraphic, and in some cases, magnetostratigraphic data are used to constrain the sequence chronostratigraphy. The relative geographic extent of the strata is used as an indication of the relative sea level. Tectonic and eustatic components could be distinguished in several cases using regional geological information. Generally, sequences consist of transgressive and highstand systems tracts only and have flat, abrasion- type lower boundaries. Lowstand deposits are only identified as infill of erosional space, which generally implies marked tectonic uplift. Several eustatic and tectonic events can be correlated with similar events known elsewhere in the North Sea Basin. The time intervals spanned by the different sequences vary considerably, pointing out different control mechanisms. Situering Op 15 oktober 2012 hadden drie leden van de Fietsersbond (Renaat Van Hoof, Antwerpen, Bart Van der Spiegel, Kontich en Gustaaf Versweyveld, Aartselaar) op het kabinet Mobiliteit en Openbare Werken (MOW) een constructief gesprek met ir. Laurens Hermans (AWV Antwerpen) en Patrick D’Haese (raadgever MOW Mobiliteit – Fietsbeleid). De inbreng van de Fietsersbond als ervaringsdeskundigen bleek zeker welkom op het kabinet MOW. Met dit dossier voegen wij de daad bij het woord. De Fietsersbond groepeert in dit dossier een reeks verbeteringsvoorstellen voor de gewestwegen N1, N10, N106, N171, N173, N177 en R11. Het dossier bevat ook een voorstel voor een bijkomende tunnel voor voetgangers en fietsers onder E19 ter hoogte van de Edegemse Beek. Een bijkomende verbinding die N1 verbindt met de oprit Kontich van E19, kan de verkeersdruk in de kernen sterk verlagen. De exacte plaats en de voorstellen voor aanpassingen aan de verschillende kruispunten voor deze nieuwe verbindingsweg maken geen deel uit van dit dossier. Wij merken op het terrein nog heel wat tekortkomingen qua infrastructuur en signalisatie, ook bij heraanleg of nieuwe projecten. Een ‘fietstoets’ vanaf de ontwerpfase zou resulteren in een fractie van de kosten die nodig zijn voor corrigerende maatregelen. Het fietspadcomfort, de vlakheid van het wegdek, wordt in dit dossier slechts hier en daar vermeld.

Rupelian deposits in Belgium have been studied extensively in the past. More recently in-depth studies have been carried out on its stratigraphy, sedimentology, micropalaeontol- ogy and vertebrate fossils. Gastropods, however, have not been revised since the work of Glibert (1957). Most invertebrate data predate the stratigraphic synthesis of Vandenberghe (1978), that enabled identification of different members and sedimentary cycles in the Boom Clay Formation. Other parts of the Rupelian sequence (such as the Ruisbroek Sand Member, Kerniel Sand Member and the Sint Niklaas Phosphorite Bed) have only been recognized or adequately dated since Glibert (1957) in the mid-1980s and their malacofauna is not yet described. Here some preliminary results of numerous recent samplings of Rupelian deposits in Belgium are presented and analyzed. Special focus is given to the Boom Clay Formation and the Sint Niklaas Phosphorite Bed. It is concluded that the molluscan fauna of the Boom Clay Formation can be used to delimit its various members and levels.
