For the Good of the Game Coach Hammer BULLS SOCCER CLUB 2 Personality of the Week Kyle Fisher Kyle Fisher: (born June 19, 1994) Born and raised in Easley, South Carolina is an American soccer player who currently plays as a defender for Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer. Fisher grew up about 30 minutes away from Clemson’s campus, a big Tigers fan who served as a ball boy at Clemson soccer games as a kid: Youth: Played center back on Carolina Elite Soccer Association's U-18 team and led his club team to the #1 national ranking by Topdrawersoccer.com. His club team won five state championships. High School: Played varsity soccer for Wren High School and helped lead his high school team to a top 10 finishes. College: Fisher played four years of college soccer at Clemson University between 2012 and 2015, where he was named ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 and First Team All-American. He captained the Tigers to the 2015 National Championship. While at Clemson he started in 83 games during his collegiate career, ranking him in the top 10 in Clemson history. While he’s not a mammoth central defender, Fisher has shown a knack for winning aerial duels both while attacking and defending set pieces. The South Carolina native times his tackling well and was a fixture in the Tigers’ return to the college soccer elite in the ACC and the national level. As a rising senior, he impressed pro scouts the fall of his senior year. While at college, Fisher also played with USL PDL sides Orlando City U-23 and Portland Timbers U23s. Professional: Fisher was selected in the first round (14th overall) of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft by Montreal Impact. Fisher made his professional debut with the Impact's United Soccer League team, FC Montreal, on March 25, 2016, starting in a 0-1 loss to Bethlehem Steel FC. Fisher made his first MLS start against the LA Galaxy in a 3-2 win on May 28, 2016. MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER AS A CASE STUDY IN COMPLEXITY THEORY STEVEN A. BANK* ABSTRACT Major League Soccer has long been criticized for its “Byzantine” roster rules and regu- lations, rivaled only by the Internal Revenue Code in its complexity. Is this criticism fair? By delving into complexity theory and the unique nature of the league, this Article argues that the traditional complaints may not apply in the context of the league’s roster rules. Effectively, critics are applying the standard used to evaluate the legal complexity found in rules such as statutes and regulations when the standard used to evaluate contractual complexity is more appropriate. Major League Soccer’s system of roster rules is the product of a contractual and organizational arrangement among the investor-operators.

The two teams are in a heated battle for a top spot in the USL’s standings with Reno owning the series 1-0. Forward Dane Kelly, who leads the USL in goals scored (16), takes on his former team again. Kelly scored in the previous match against Swope Park. The last time these two met, Reno won 4-1 in a rout that began with an Antoine Hoppenot goal in the first minute of the match. Reno cruised to the crucial victory to climb in the USL’s Western Conference. Should Reno take the second match and Reno would jump to third in the standings. Reno is coming off three-straight wins, including a 2-1 win over rival Sac- ramento Republic FC. Swope Park drew 2-2 with Sacramento on Wednesday to earn a point on the road. Swope Park’s attack is spread out with three players over five goals this season.
