Statistics tell us that most businesses Brian, Robert and the team. are underinsured to some degree and in tough times many people have no insurance at all! Businesses often do not insure for “Business Interruption” which covers loss of gross profit due to an insured event such as fire. Yes, don’t the developers ever give up! As the Mayor’s “survey” says 2003, 2004 and 2011 and every time the answer was the same, NO!! Do the forthcoming Local Government elections have anything to do with this “survey”? What an excellent way to garner votes from the rural area, knowing that there will always be votes from the significant minority, who otherwise may not have thought why they should bother to vote at all. Where would this sub-division be? What lot sizes? Why would the State Government approve the reduction of Sec. 94 contributions from developers? Why would the State Government approve it? Our community does not need the re-introduction of such a divisive topic. If we are to be surveyed why not on how our community can be improved? Bring us together with the common purpose of finding out how we can help the commercial viability, help the environment, help keep what we value and how to remove what is bad. Let us work on how we and Council, can improve the economy of the rural area through the promotion of existing home occupations and home industries, tourism and creative farming. Let us have public meetings and spend Council money, on that! Let us all think about the future and ask our politicians to make hard decisions for our and their, grandchildren. Food security for Sydney, better developments to increase population without covering productive farm land and agricultural potential, creative house design, smaller houses, better zoning of land to permit something between home units and the massive homes now being built.
