Ronald McDonald House Charities UK presents Thursday 25 March 2021 United Kingdom We wish you a wonderful evening Coca-Cola Great Britain and Ireland are proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities and are happy to provide vending machines and products free of charge to every Ronald McDonald House in the UK. WELCOME On behalf of Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, I am delighted you are able to join ‘Light up the Night: A virtual gala’. We are thrilled to bring you an evening of entertainment and stories from the families we have supported to your screens for you to enjoy from the comfort of home. The last year has undoubtedly been one that none of us have ever experienced. At the Charity, we have faced enormous challenges to our service delivery amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, we have reason for celebration this evening. Whilst our Houses are currently running at lower occupancy levels than usual to safeguard the health and safety of our families and staff, I am extremely proud that all 11 Houses continue to provide free ‘home away from home’ accommodation and support for families with children in hospital. After several years of planning, fundraising and development, we were still able to open our new Oxford House last summer. This means that our service in has expanded from 17 bedrooms in the previous site to 62, in the new Ronald McDonald House. We will now be able to support even more families with children receiving treatment in John Radcliffe Hospital, and extend to families with babies and children in Critical Care or Newborn Intensive Care.
