our history & culture

CTM Debrie is the result of a merger between CTM and DEBRIE, two pioneers in motion picture technology since the early 1900s. A few key dates:

1898 Creation of Debrie by Joseph DeBrie 1913 Invention of the PARVO camera, followed by the creation of the Super PARVO camera in 1921 1951 Creation of CTM, originally the mechanics department of CTM Laboratory. The company soon becomes a pivotal developer of editing tables (among which is the famous MORITONE) and post-production equipment. 1992 Acquisition of Debrie by CTM. A complete and innovative range of film equipment is offered to the motion picture industry 1995 To adapt to rapidly changing technologies, the group develops a new activity, which focuses of the distribution and integration of solutions in audio and video equipment (Sony, Avid, Apple, Akai, Digidesign). With time, the group can be viewed in two distinct capacities: that of a manufacturer and that of a seller. 2000 For marketing and administrative purposes, the company splits into two different entities: Debrie takes over the industrial expertise of CTM integrating them with those already in existence at Debrie, thus becoming CTM Debrie. On the other hand, CTM transforms itself into an integrated solutions provider for broadcast systems, and becomes CTM Solutions.

Today CTM Debrie and CTM Solutions complement each other, under the umbrella of CTM Group to provide turn-key solutions in film, video and digital technologies.

our expertise & vocation

Today the company leads the way in designing, manufacturing and supplying the most complete and widest range of film equipment. It is one of few manufacturers with a full R&D program, applying new technology to laboratories and the post production process.

Start to Finish Expertise CTM Debrie has the capacity to control each step of the production process: Engineering Installation Technical Support Manufacturing Training

We can, therefore, take a project from beginning to end, from the concept of a machine to the maintenance of its installation.

One Supplier One supplier means fewer hassles and a cost effective solution. The wide range of products we offer, combined with our knowledge with the entire production process, allows us to recommend a solution that is perfectly tailored to your needs. It also means that you only deal with one supplier, competent in all the aspects of the installation. Among many others, there are three major advantages: > A coherent installation > A professional, knowledgeable and efficient maintenance of your equipment > A better negotiation over costs and expense

Designers of Complete Projects CTM Debrie belongs to the CTM Group. Part of the group’s activity involves the distribution and integration of professional broadcasting systems (non-linear editing systems, audio equipment, internet and multimedia solutions, etc). CTM Debrie can therefore design complete turn key projects in film, video and digital technologies.

The first generation of UNIPLEX, well known in the nineties, continues to be appreciated by its users for its reliability and robustness. This new generation of UNIPLEX brings with it a centralization in controls, allowing for easier management by way of a computer designed to be more compact and facilitate maintenance. The tanks, previously made of PVC, are now constructed entirely out of metal. These machines also come with the option of being constructed with a wet section rack lift facility. Additional tanks can also be made of titanium, if requested by the customer. The feed station, dry box, and take-up stations are all constructed of type 304 stainless steel.

This system, situated at the take-off station, allows the operator to use a touch screen with visual indications of multiple machine functions and conditions, such as: Film format (i.e. 35mm or leader) being loaded at feed on end, Wash water flow indication, Digital speed, Chemical and dryer temperature displays with facility for simple adjustment, Chemical timer with seven day timed on/off , Standby timer with variable on/off cycle, Manual override, Total machine running hours, Total footage count, Routine maintenance prompts, Pump or heater failure, Film break location…
