Tour of Britain ‐ 8A Biomatematický model 2014: Tour of Britain ‐ 8a. etapa Tour of Britain, probíhající současně se závěrečným týdnem Vuelty končila dělenou etapou – dopolední časovkou na 8,8 km a odpoledním hromadným závodem. Skvěle se v ní dařilo Janu Bártovi (Net App – Endura), který potvrdil svojí časovkářskou extratřídu a dojel 4. a o pár pozic níže skončil jeho týmový kolega Leo Konig . Karel Hník (MTN‐Qhubeka) dokončil lehce za polovinou pole). O kuriozní situaci se postaral Mark Cavendish (Omega Pharma – Quick step), který si z předstartovního soustředění zapomněl vzít na start kolo… Nakonec mu ho přinesli pár vteřin před povelem „Go“. Mark se do toho opřel opravdu pořádně a dojel si pro solidní 15. místo. A jak se na širokých Londýnských ulicích dařilo jezdcům BMM? J’estime qu’il reflète les progrès significatifs que nous avons accomplis dans la modernisation de notre organisation afin de veiller à ce qu’elle soit une Fédération Internationale remarquable par ses résultats et son intégrité. J’ai été élu Président en 2013 avec pour mandat de restaurer la confiance dans notre sport et l’UCI ainsi que leur crédibilité. En 2015, nous nous sommes appuyés sur les avancées réalisées l’année précédente afin de poursuivre cet objectif précis. L’UCI contribue à montrer la voie dans l’établissement des meilleures pratiques en termes d’intégrité et de transparence sportives.

    1 Topsport Vlaanderen – Mercator Nieuws 2012 Kenny De Ketele knap 4de in het omnium 15 januari 2012 - UCI Track Cycling World Cup #3 - China - Peking Er stonden geen zesdaagses op het programma van Kenny De Ketele en Tim Mertens begin januari. Onze pistiers kwamen in actie op de wereldbeker baanwielrennen in Peking. Kenny De Ketele is er knap vierde geworden in het omnium. Al meteen na dag 1 stond hij op die 4de plaats. Daarmee komt ook een ticket voor de Olympische Spelen in deze discipline heel wat dichterbij. De Australiër Glenn O´Shea won voor de Fransman Bryan Coquard en de Duitser Nikias Arndt. In de ploegenachtervolging eindigden de Belgen - met naast Kenny en Tim nog Ingmar De Poortere en Steve Schets - op de 10de plaats. Een mindere prestatie, gelukkig met weinig gevolgen voor wat betreft onze kansen op een Olympische kwalificatie. In de ploegkoers tenslotte werden Kenny en Tim tweede na de Tsjechen Martin Blaha en Vojtech Hacecky. Trainingsstage en workshops zitten er op 22 januari 2012 - teamnieuws Onze renners hebben de voorbije 2 weken een druk programma afgewerkt. Na een mediatraining vertrokken ze op 10 januari naar het Spaanse Calpe voor de jaarlijkse trainingsstage. Net als vorig jaar verbleven ze er in Hotel Diamante Beach en gisteren, 11 dagen later, zijn ze teruggekeerd. De mediatraining van 9 januari werd gegeven door Steven Piessens en Frank Van Oss. Heel wat aandachtspunten werden besproken en begeleid door oefeningen. In Calpe werd er dan weer stevig gefietst onder begeleiding van de nieuwe trainer Trainer Erwin Borgonjon. Sommige dagen stonden er meer dan 200 kilometers op de teller, met daarbij 3600 hoogtemeters.

The Six Day Series will feature some of the world’s best professional riders, including Australian team Cameron Meyer and Callum Scotson, Brits Mark Cavendish and Sir Bradley Wiggins, Kenny de Ketele and Moreno de Pauw from Belgium, along with French duo Morgan Kneisky and Benjamin Thomas in a new innovative format, all set within a unique party like atmosphere with great music and entertainment forming the backdrop to the drama on the track. The first event will take place in London at the Lee Valley VeloPark and will be broadcast in Australia Wednesday 26 October at 9:30am (AEDT). Other events in the series include Amsterdam (December), Berlin (January) and Copenhagen (January), with a final night taking place in Palma, Mallorca in March. Held over six consecutive days, the Six Day Series sees teams of two riders compete in multiple races across a variety of sprint and endurance disciplines in a bid to be crowned champions. The cornerstone of the event is the Madison race where the riders sling each other in and out of the action, creating compelling and highly tactical racing. Alongside the elite men, there is an elite women’s omnium competition set to run across the series with men and women riders battling it out to qualify for a one-off, one night spectacular final in Mallorca in March 2017.

Domani, sabato 19 marzo, si correrà la 107ª edizione della gara ciclistica Milano-Sanremo. Come da tradizione, i corridori partiranno alle ore 10,10 in via della Chiesa Rossa nel capoluogo lombardo. Il traguardo, dallo scorso anno, è stato riportato in via Roma, dove si sono concluse le edizioni comprese tra il 1949 e il 1985 e tra il 1994 e il 2007, a due soli chilometri dalla fine della discesa del Poggio; il tragitto avrà unalunghezza complessiva di 291 chilometri. L’ingresso in Liguria, in provincia di Genova, è previsto intorno alle 13,13; l’ingresso in provincia di Savona intorno alle 14,15, ipotizzando una media di 42 km/h. I plurivincitori della corsa sono Eddy Merckx con 7 vittorie; Costante Girardengo con 6; Gino Bartali e Erik Zabel con 4; Fausto Coppi, Roger De Vlaeminck e Óscar Freire con 3 successi; Gaetano Belloni, Alfredo Binda, Giuseppe Olmo, Miguel Poblet, Laurent Fignon e Loretto Petrucci con 2.
