The Indonesia especially South Sulawesi contained the diversity of plant species. The number of species that exist it is necessary to identify each type. To facilitate the identification process, conducted the studyof exploration of plant's description by QR Code feature. QR Code or quick response code, which is a type of two-dimensional bar code contains information that facilitates generating and reading (encoding and decoding) of information on a smartphone. The purpose of this studyto facilitate describing of the plant with the QR Code features. This studylocated in Tope Jawa Coast, Takalar, South Sulawesi, with a descriptive study using survey and identification methods. The results of the study revealed 25 species of plants that have been identified and loaded into a QR Code that can be scanned by smartphone. Key words: Exploration, descriptions of plants, QR Code INTRODUCTION Indonesia became the world's leading in terms of global biodiversity. One of the species diversity in Indonesia is regarded as a center of plant diversity, economyc plant of the world. Some plants from Indonesia, such as bananas and coconuts have spread throughout the world. The types of timber being traded, also tropical fruits (durian, duku, bark, rambutan, bananas and so on), orchids, bamboo, rattan and others mostly from Indonesia. Therefore, Indonesia is known as one of the countries with greatest biodiversity in the world (megadiversity) and is the center of the world's biodiversity (megacenter of biodiversity) (Mac Kinnon, 1992). -

[email protected] ABSTRACT We investigated the vascular plant species composition of homegardens maintained by the Kani tribe of Kanyakumari wildlife sanctuary and encountered 368 plants belonging to 290 genera and 98 families, which included 118 tree species, 71 shrub species, 129 herb species, 45 climber and 5 twiners. The study reveals that these gardens provide medicine, timber, fuelwood and edibles for household consumption as well as for sale. We conclude that these homestead agroforestry system serve as habitat for many economically important plant species, harbour rich biodiversity and mimic the natural forests both in structural composition as well as ecological and economic functions. Merr (Anacardiaceae), a Bangladeshi medicinal plant, has long been used in indigenous medicine. The plant is reported to be used in the traditional medicine for all local swelling, pain and inflammation and in the treatment of tumour, ulcers, cancer, sprains, bruises, skin diseases, and dysentery. Both the leaves and the stem bark have painkilling and astringent property and so, mixed with toothpowder for use in toothache. The leaves are copped as fodder and fed the livestock in inflammatory and digestive problems. In this study, ethanol extracts of the leaves and stem bark of this traditionally valuable medicinal plant were screened for analgesic activity on acetic acid induced Swiss-albino mice- Mus musculus in vivo for the first time as well as studied for some important phytochemical groups. -

The present study was conducted Copraburi (CSG) and Kawa-Sarnd (KSG) sacred grove in Nayagram block of the Jhargram district under west Bengal, in appreciation of its role in biodiversity conservation. The study aimed at the documentation and inventory of sacred groves, its phytodiversity, social, ecological and economical role with mild threats. A total of 120 species belonging to 113 genera distributed 43 families from 24 orders were recorded from the sacred groves according to the APG IV (2016) classification, which covering 47, 26, 23, 24 species of herbs, shrubs, tree, climbers respectively. Moreover, both groves support locally useful medicinal plants for various ailments. This is the first ethnobotanical study in which statistical calculations about plants are done by fidelity level (FL) in the study area. Therefore, there is an urgent need not only to protect the sacred forest, but also to revive and reinvent such traditional way of nature conservation. Field expedition and specimen collection was done and deposited at the herbarium of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. 400 plant species from 271 genera 98 families were identified. Three species were pteridophytes, one species was gymnosperm, and 396 species were angiosperms. Flowering plants were categorized as Magnoliids 7 species in 7 genera 3 families, Monocots 106 species in 58 genera 22 families and Eudicots 283 species in 201 genera 69 families. Fabaceae has the greatest number of species among those flowering plant families. Keywords: Biodiversity, Conservation, Sa Kaeo, Species, Dipterocarp forest Introduction Deciduous dipterocarp forest or dried dipterocarp forest covered 80 percent of the forest area in northeastern Thailand spreads to central and eastern Thailand including Sa Kaeo province in which the elevation is lower than 1,000 meters above sea level, dry and shallow sandy soil. Plant species which are common in this kind of forest, are e.g. Buchanania lanzan, Dipterocarpus intricatus, D. tuberculatus, Shorea obtusa, S. siamensis, Terminalia alata, Gardenia saxatilis and Vietnamosasa pusilla [1]. More than 80 percent of the area of Burapha University, Sa Kaeo campus was still covered by the deciduous dipterocarp forest called ‘Khok Pa Pek’. This 2-square-kilometers forest locates at 13°44' N latitude and 102°17' E longitude in Watana Nakorn district, Sa Kaeo province. -

The juice extracted from the leaves of plants belonging to this species are taken orally to treat toothache while their stem bark is made into a paste and used to treat body pains. The Lannea species are used as antidote in coma caused by narcotics and to stop bleeding and prevent tetanus. Competition for light is a central issue in ecological questions concerning forest tree differentiation and diversity. Here, using 213,106 individual stem records derived from a national survey in Ghana, West Africa, we examine the relationship between relative crown exposure, ontogeny and phylogeny for 109 canopy species. 1 2. We use a generalized linear model (GLM) framework to allow inter- specific comparisons of crown exposure that control for stem-size. For each species, a multinomial response model is used to describe the probabilities of the relative canopy illumination classes as a function of stem diameter. 3. In general, and for all larger stems, canopy-exposure increases with diameter. Five species have size-related exposure patterns that reveal local minima above 5cm dbh, but only one Panda oleosa shows a local maximum at a low diameter. -

Abstract An intensive floristic investigation provides the first systematic and comprehensive account of the floral diversity of Baraiyadhala National Park of Bangladesh, and recognizes 528 wild taxa belonging to 337 genera and 73 families (Magnoliids and Eudicots) in the park. Habit analysis reveals that trees (179 species) and herbs (174 species) constitute the major categories of the plant community followed by shrubs (95 species), climbers (78 species), and two epiphytes. Status of occurrence has been assessed for proper conservation management and sustainable utilization of the taxa resulting in 165 (31.25%) to be rare, 23 (4.36%) as endangered, 12 (2.27%) as critically endangered and 4 species (0.76%) are found as vulnerable in the forest. Fabaceae is the dominant family represented by 75 taxa, followed by Rubiaceae (47 taxa), Malvaceae (28 species), Asteraceae (27 species) and Euphorbiaceae (24 species). Twenty-three families represent single species each in the area. Introduction Baraiyadhala National Park as one of the important Protected Areas (PAs) of Bangladesh that lies between 22040.489´-22048´N latitude and 90040´-91055.979´E longitude and located in Sitakundu and Mirsharai Upazilas of Chittagong district. The forest is under the jurisdiction of Baraiyadhala Forest Range of Chittagong North Forest Division. The park encompasses 2,933.61 hectare (7,249 acres) area and is classified under Category II of the International IUCN classification of protected areas (Hossain, 2015). -

Previous research on this genus focused on the biological activities of the plants. The Phytochemistry of most Lannea species is not reported. Lannea alata , Lannea rivae , Lannea schimperi and Lannea schweinfurthii were selected for this study. Previous studies illustrated antiplasmodial, cytotoxicity, antiviral, antioxidant and acetylcholinesterase inhibition of Lannea schweinfurthii extracts. Lannea schimperi extracts demonstrated antiulcer, antibacterial, cytotoxic and antifungal activities. However, no investigations were conducted to determine the compounds responsible for the observed activities. No prior work on Lannea alata and Lannea rivae has been reported.
