Aparicio Tesis de Licenciatura Noviembre, 2010 1 Introduction A Fringe of Leaves starts, just like two of the most significant events in Australian history - colonisation and immigration- with a journey across the sea. Journeys often entail changes in one’s personality. Sometimes, radical ones. Travellers have always ventured to meet the unexpected in order to find answers to unasked questions having as a consequence a different approach to existence. In A Fringe of Leaves (1976), written by 1973 Nobel Prize- winner Patrick White, the character of Ellen Roxburgh assesses her whole existence through the hardships she faces during her journey to and within Australia. -

An Informational Newsletter for Londonderry High School Parents from the Guidance & Counseling Department August 2016 With summer coming to a close and school beginning, we have been busy gearing up for the new school year. Last year you heard the terms Perseverance, Ownership and Practice or POP! This is important to keep in mind as we work with your child as learners (notice not students). A learner is a person who is trying to gain knowledge or skill in something by studying, practicing or being taught. A student is a person who attends a school, college or university. We want your child to be an active learner. Facing challenges in the safe envi- ronment of the high school, gaining knowledge by lots of Perseverance, Ownership and Practice. We want them to POP! At our district retreat, I was reminded of a story about an elder Cherokee and his grandson. One evening the elder Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all peo- ple. He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us. One is Fear. It carries anxiety, concern, uncertainty, hesitancy, indecision and inaction. The other is Faith. It brings calm, conviction, excitement and action.” The grandson thought about it for a mo- ment and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?” The old grandfather replied, “The one you feed.” Let’s remember as we start the 2016-2017 school year to feed the wolf of Faith and let the wolf of Fear starve. Here’s to a successful year. Maureen O’Dea Director of School Counseling COUNSELOR ASSIGNMENTS MAIN NUMBER: 603.432.6941 -

Online and Overexposed: Consumer Privacy, the FTC, and the Rise Of
Online and Overexposed: Consumer Privacy, the FTC, and the Rise of the Cyberazzi Remarks of FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz as Prepared for Delivery National Press Club, Washington, D.C. October 11, 2011 Thank you Jeff, and let me also extend my thanks to the many other organizers of this event. I’m happy to be here. Jeff will be announcing a new study today, which we haven’t yet seen, but I am certain it will move us toward the goal we all share – and it seems to me that goal is shared by many businesses – protecting consumer privacy while ensuring a cyberspace that generates the free content we’ve all come to expect and enjoy. Based on reading we have been doing over the last couple of weeks, most of it picked up while waiting in line at the grocery store, we have concluded: Kirstie Alley could have had gastric bypass surgery, and Kim Kardashian almost definitely had a butt lift. Blake Lively and Leo diCaprio’s short-lived relationship seems faker than – well, Kim Kardashian’s rear end. And it doesn’t look good for Ashton and Demi; she been nowhere near the set of Two and a Half Men. Thank goodness for the paparazzi. And really, who cares that, of the 1000 words each of their pictures is worth, at best only about 500 are true? Public figures choose to make their livings monetizing their identities; in a free market, it is hardly surprising that photographers and gossip rags want to get in on the action. It would be a different story, of course, if the paparazzi turned their lenses on those of us who don’t have jobs treading the red carpet – if they snapped photos of us in what we thought were our private moments and then sold them without our permission, the resulting montage a detailed and perhaps damaging portrait of our selves. -
Tour Pack Alfred Jarry’S Ubu Roi in Object Theatre
THÉÂTRE DE LA PIRE ESPÈCE (CANADA) PRESENTS ADAPTATION FROM TOUR PACK ALFRED JARRY’S UBU ROI IN OBJECT THEATRE www.pire-espece.com UBU ON THE TABLE THE WORLD’S GROTESQUENESS ON A TABLE! or What Happens When a Power-Hungry Vinegar Bottle, Hammer and Sugar Bowl Fight for the Throne. Two armies of French baguettes face each other in a stand-off as tomato bombs explode, an egg beater hovers over fleeing troops and molasses-blood splatters on fork-soldiers as they charge Père Ubu. Anything goes as Poland’s fate is sealed on a tabletop! Multiple film references spice things up as two performers hammer-out a small-scale fresco of grandiose buffoonery. UBU IN OBJECT THEATRE Ubu is undeniably comfortable surrounded by kitchen utensils that double as gorging tools and weapons to annihilate the “sagouins”. The banality of the objects dramatically underscores the grotesque nature of the characters: Captain Bordure, embodied by a standard hammer, is forever stuck in his rigid stance, forced to repeat the same ridiculous expressions over and over. The Object’s expressive limits force the creators to focus on the dramatic action rather than on the psychological development of the characters. The actor-puppeteers (in full view) appeal to the audience’s intelligence and imagination by conveying a second degree to the storyline. OVER 900 PERFORMANCES This adaptation of Ubu Roi has garnered much praise – the objects’ raw form and the performance’s frenetic pace are perfectly suited for Alfred Jarry’s cruel farce. Since its creation, the show has been performed over 900 times in 15 COUNTRIES (Canada, France, Germany, U.K, Ireland, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Belgium, Turkey, Cuba, Finland). -

Rosen Method Bodywork (RMB) is a complementary approach with a small, but growing body of evidence. The purpose of this research study was to explore the processes of Rosen Method Bodywork to develop a theoretical framework about what occurs over the course of receiving sessions RMB, both within the recipient and between the recipient and the practitioner. In this grounded theory study, data from interviews of twenty participants was analyzed and a theoretical model of the overall process of RMB was constructed. The model consists of the five integrative phases through which these participants moved within the iterative RMB process from Feeling Stuck and Disconnected to Feeling Connected. Mindfulness is observed to be a central component of the RMB process which participants describe as helpful for trauma recovery. -

William Baldwin
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE POSSESSION KIND As you read this volume, be prepared to meet otherworldly beings in a form never before imagined. There are alien colonists, alien scientists, alien castaways, alien/human hybrids, and many others. There are many nonphysical, unearthly beings who impose mind control at a whole new level, revealing a sinister side of the UFO phenomenon previously regarded as absurd and only hinted at in other books. In acknowledgment of his pioneering exploration of science and spirit in his groundbreaking work, Spirit Releasement Therapy: A Technique Manual, Dr. William j. Baldwin was honored with the 1994 Franklin Loehr Memorial Award by the International Association for New Science in Ft. Collins, Colorado. He has received other awards for lifetime achievement and contribution to the transpersonal field in the tradition of bridging Mind, Body, and Spirit. Now Dr. Baldwin further expands his fascinating explorations into consciousness and documents what many hundreds of clients have discovered in clinical session. CE-Vl: Close Encounters of the Possession Kind catapults the reader into the many-layered realms of human consciousness and experience, revealing unwanted intrusions by alien "others." This kind of ET/UFO encounter appears to be nonphysical yet every bit as intrusive as the well-known abduction scenario. Addressing the heart of the matter, CE-Vl illuminates a path for overcoming fear, and embracing the fresh, eternal, indestructible light of human freedom. Comrade Britney and the Critical Potential of Marxist Memeing
41 Comrade Britney and the Critical Potential of Marxist Memeing Contemporary Matters Journal – Issue #3 42 Comrade Britney and the Critical Potential of Marxist Memeing by Sophie Publig “It’s comrade Britney, bitch” is written in pink pseudo-cyrillic letters over a red background.¹ In the center of the image, we see the famous counterfeits that form the classic genealogy of Marxist thinkers: Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Mao and Britney Spears. Wait, Britney Spears, US-American pop hit machine since the late 1990s? If she never struck you as a thinker of the proletariat, perhaps it’s time to go through her lyrical œuvre that has not been short of making labor a subject of discussion. Take, for example, the 2013 electro pop classic “Work B*tch”: You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti? You want a Maserati? You better work bitch You want a Lamborghini? Sippin’ martinis? Look hot in a bikini? You better work bitch You wanna live fancy? Live in a big mansion?
