MBCT Pick up beer: Yellow session: Lumberjack Morning Break / Barrel Aged Imperial Stout / 13% About 3 Sons 3 Sonsは熱帯サマーエリア、フロリダ州、潮風が気持ちいいダニアビーチか ら。アメリカ合衆国のほぼ南東端。 オーナーでありヘッドブリュワーを務める の は 、コ リ ー ・ ア ー テ ィ ニ ス 氏 。 フロリダのニューカマーが早速ぶちかましてくれた。 3 SonsはRatebeer(ア メリカの影響力のあるビアレイティングサイト)の、2018年新設ブリュワリー カテゴリーで、なんとベストブリュワリーに選ばれる! しかし、コリーは当初そ れを聞いて何かの間違いだと思った。 なぜかって、正式な創業は2019年、タ ップルームは建設中でまだオープンしていなかったからだ。 でもそれは間違い ではなく、正真正銘3Sons brewingであった。 どうしてこのようなことが起こ ったのだろう… 高度な処置技術を持つ救急救命士だったコリーは、2006年ごろに趣味としてホームブリューイングを始める。 没頭してい ったコリーは、プロ用の中古醸造機器を買い、ステンレスの機材にドリルで穴を開けたりガンガンにカスタマイズし、ついには 家の外に自前の醸造施設を作ってしまったりと、どんどん本格化していく。 コリーが得意としていたのはデザートビール、濃厚で甘みのあるスタウトだ。 その得意としていたビールが、ボトルシェアイベ ントで、ビアフェスティバルで、コンテストで、 人から人へ、ジワジワと広がっていく。 そして、2015年Cigar City Brewing( フロリダ州)が主催するビアフェスHunahpu’s Dayで、 BestBeer&Best Breweryの名誉あるダブル受賞を果たす。 2014年にコンテストに参加してから、18回も金賞を取る偉業をなし、様々な場所で多くの人に飲まれ、ファンの数が膨れ上 がった。 その数なんと15,000人。インスタのアカウントにはとんでもない数のフォロワーがいた。 そんなこんなで、開業前か ら表彰される珍事態が起こったのだ。 彼の一番有名なビールといえばおそらく、”Summation”。 バーボン樽熟成のインペリアルバニラ&コーヒースタウトだ。 数 多のビアギークを唸らせてきた本格派。 また”Boysen Tha Hood” ボイセンベリーとカシスをたっぷり使ったベルリナーバ イスも人気だ。 ちなみに3Sonsと言う意味ありげな醸造所の名前は、そのまんま、3人のキュートな息子たちにちなんでつけ られたそうだ。 アメリカ大注目株の3Sons、令和元年in Japan。 とんでもない勢いのビールがMBCTにやって来る! MBCT Pick up beer: Green session: Hunter Vanilla / Double Milk Stout with Vanilla / 8.5% About 18th Street 18th street Breweryは、シカゴよりやや南、インディアナ州ゲイリーとハモンドに拠点を構えるブリューパブだ。最初にスタ ートした地は、マイケルジャクソンなどジャクソンファミリーの出身地として知られるゲイリー。そして事業拡大に伴いハモンド にも増設。そのハモンドが2019年、アメリカの大衆紙”USA Today”により、”Best Brewpub in USA”に指定されるという 最高の名誉に輝いた。 創業者はドリュー・フォックス。ミラーライトやハイライフなど大手のビー ルを飲んでいたフォックス。旅行先のベルギーの修道院で飲んだ、無濾過 のウィートビールに衝撃を受け、ビールとは何かを思い知らされる。シカゴ の高級ホテルで飲食部門のマネージャーを務めていたが、会社上層部の イヤミな連中のために懸命に働くことに嫌気がさしていたフォックス。そこ で、感動を覚えたビールへの情熱を、生活を変えるチャンスとして捉え、フ ォックスは動き出す。 仕事終わりの夜や週末にせっせと飲みに通ったThree Floyds Brew- ing(インディアナ州)。また夜にボランティアスタッフとして、Pipeworks Brewing(シカゴ)の包装ラインで気づけば2年半近く働いていた。ブリュ ワリーを始める準備が整ったフォックスは、18thStreetのスタート地とし てゲイリーを選んだ。ゲイリーは控え目に言っても治安が良い方ではない。当初は、”シカゴでビールが飲めるのに、一体誰が ゲイリーでビールを飲むんだ”と言われた。当時そこに住んでいたフォックスは、”クラフトビールに境界線がないことを知って 欲しかった”と語る。彼はゲイリーのコミュニティの力を信じていたし、地元の人々も、18thStreetが日々限界に挑戦する真っ 直ぐでポジティブな力を感じていた。ハモンドの名誉の受賞もあり、ゲイリーの街は明るく活気付く。 “HUNTER”という彼らのフラッグシップビールは、乳糖とカカオニブを加え、インペリアルスタウトよりもずっと甘く適度なボ ディのバランスの取れたビールで、アメリカ屈指のミルクスタウトになった。18th ストリートのIPAやペールエール、スタウト は、ベルギーのスタイルとは違うが、深いところでつながっているとフォックスは語る。 産み出される無限のレシピからブランド、ラベルアート、ブリューパブのデザインまで、ヘビーメタルなスピリットと共に常に最 先端である努力を欠かさず、必ず”クオリティ”からスタートする。アメリカNo.1ブリューパブのビールを、フォックス本人に注 いでもらって飲めるのはMBCTだけ。こんなチャンスは人生でもそう無い、絶対に見逃さないで! MBCT Pick up beer: Green session: Cox i Pæren / Wild danish perry / 5.9% About Æblerov 2011年にクリストファー・メリンとモーテン・シルベストが始めたサイダ リー。 この2人の出会いはビオワインのバー。クリストファーはフロアで、モーテ ンがキッチンで働いていた時のこと。“無濾過”の深みに興味を持ち、意気 投合した2人はデンマーク・コペンハーゲンのこじんまりとしたガレージ で資本金3万円でスタート。(この時点で夢がある) Æblerov(エーブロー)を日本語に直すとりんご泥棒。これはデンマーク のスラングのようなものでお隣さんや友達の庭からりんごを取るような子 に親しみを込めて“りんご泥棒”と呼ぶ。なんとも可愛らしく、サイダリーに はぴったりの名前。 エーブローの情熱はデンマークの地にクラフト(手作り)でアートのような シードルを作り、息を吹き返すこと。昨今の大量生産に対し、クラフトマン シップで反抗する。エーブローはこのことを“デリシャスリベリオン”(美味しい反抗)と呼んでいる。デリシャスというりんごの品 種にもかけているところが 北 欧らしいユーモアなのかな? 2011年から始めのプロダクトの発売まで4年もかかっている事、そしてそのシードルが最も美味しいシードルに選ばれた事、 なんとも説得力のある優秀な反抗だと思う。そんな彼らが作るシードルは完全自然発酵。オーガニックのりんごを使い、イー ストを加えることもなく、濾過もしない。ワイン樽で熟成されたものもある。りんご一つであんなに美味しいアルコール飲料が できることを考えると本当に自然が人類にくれた贈り物のような気がする。 MBCTで絶対にエーブローをトライしてほしい理由がもう一つ。彼らがもともとワインのソムリエである事。彼らのシードル は世界のグルメを唸らせるレベルであり、食に合うように作られている。ミシュランスターを獲得しているデンマークの有名 店、Nomaやその他のガストロパブでも取り扱われている。シードルでのフードペアリングの高みを目指すため、最近はりんご とベリーなど、他のフルーツを合わせて自然発酵させ今までにないフレーバーを生み出そうと奮闘中。 シードルのポテンシャルを最大限に生かし、クラフトマンシップを愛し、反抗的かつ丁寧に作られるエーブローのアート。日本 で飲める機会は本当に少ないです。 MBCT Beers Sig Natur 2018 / Wild Danish Cider / 5.9% Yellow From Bornholm / Mead / 10% Rød Humlefar / Dry Hopped Cider / 5.9% Blue Kompis cider / Wild danish/swedish

The purpose of this study is to investigate where Mikkeller is currently positioned in the beer market and to study whether the position has changed or not over the last five years. With the study of the relationship between business and trends and the fundamental understanding of the way Mikkeller is able to challenge the larger beer companies, the position of Mikkeller in the beer market is achieved. With the current trends in society, Mikkeller is both able to influence their consumer behaviour, by strengthening their customer relationship and strategically challenge the industrial beer companies. Thereby the marketing and production strategies of the industrial beer companies such as Carlsberg and Royal Unibrew, are changing accordingly to the trends, causing them to produce products similar to Mikkeller.
