Dhani Jones Success Story Everyone who knows Dhani Jones will tell you that his fantastic football career is not really surprising. While attending Winston Churchill Hill High School in Potomac, Maryland he was rated the fifth-best linebacker in the Atlantic Coast region by Blue Chip Illustrated. Dhani was also honored when he was selected to the All-Western Region, All-County, and All-Area teams. Both of his parents graduated from the University of Michigan and with major Wolverine influence at home, he decided to follow in his parents footsteps. While at the University of Michigan, he had an outstanding career on and off the football field. Dhani has been a part-time poet and painter since high school, reading his work in front of crowds and wandering through museums all alone for years. The New York Giants drafted Dhani in the sixth round (177th pick overall) in 2000 and his first year he spent the entire season on injured reserve after suffering a tear to the ACL during training camp. In 2001 he became a special teams wizard and played linebacker. While playing in all 16 games, he led the Giants with 16 special team tackles.
