Mike Fiers (‟09) allowed one run over seven innings and picked up the win in his first major league start. Ryan Braun hit a two-run homer in the top of the first inning to provide the offense. Martin Maldonado (‟09) picked up his first major league hit in the game, too.

NASHVILLE (AAA: 20-31; American Northern Division): The Sounds lost 2-0 in a rain-shortened game at Oklahoma City. The RedHawks scored a run in the fourth and a run in the fifth off Brian Baker. Rain halted the game with two outs in the fifth inning.

HUNTSVILLE (AA: 28-23; Southern League North Division): The Stars lost 3-2 at Tennessee. Scooter Gennett (‟10) had three hits for Huntsville, but the Stars could not come all the way back from a 3-0 deficit.

BREVARD COUNTY (Advanced-A: 21-29; North Division): The Manatees swept a doubleheader from Daytona. Jimmy Nelson (‟11) allowed a run on three hits and Mike Walker (‟11) homered in a 4-1 game one victory.
