NOV 10, 2018 CHEYENNE GUITAR SOCIETY BIG BUCKS I TELL YA December 4 Next Meeting Sunflower Room 6:45pm to 9:00 Oct 2, 2018 NEWSLETTER GONE Oh Brother, Where ERNIE!! TO THE DOGS Art Thou??? PIX AT 11PM STORY AT 6 CheyenneGuitar Society We Got Cookies! What a nice meeting! We had some new faces, and a few we haven’t seen in awhile as well. Welcome to Randy Basden (pictured left), Garin Schuler, Henry Kinnison, and Justin Johnson (lower right pic). Welcome back to Dick Kinnison (there’s a pix of the brothers up in the teaser line) and Steve Borin. It was great to have you all join us, and we’ll hopefully see ya’ll again soon. Edith brought cookies, and they made the rounds just as the group song was being distributed. So we all blew crumbs while we sang the Everly Brothers “Walk Right Back”. It turned out much better (and a little messier) than our usual group song, and was helped out a bunch by Bill Bailey taking a verse on his steel pedal. Thanks Bill, and Edith; your cookies were yummy. There was some buzz about meeting somewhere else in December. If that miracle happens, I will send you all an update as soon as possible. Meanwhile, plan on returning to the Sunflower Room for December. Laramie County Public Library 2200 Pioneer Ave. Sunflower Room third floor, perhaps… We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, we’ll play, we’ll do stuff. If that sounds good to you, then JOIN US! Dues are not required to play, guests are always welcome. We generally have plenty of chairs left with arms on them for visitors. Keep your ear trumpet in, just in case the venue changes between now and then. IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE, READ THIS. Here’s a few things to keep in mind for the next few months. Our December meeting is usually well attended, and it takes the whole time to get around the loop twice to hear everyone’s holiday offerings. So be polite, keep your stories brief or save them for January, even. Come and go between songs, don’t pack up your gear when someone else is playing. When it’s your turn, play as you will, but be nice and considerate of others when it is their stage. We’ll also be collecting dues for 2019, a paltry $25. Those checks or cash go to Steve, or Russ if Steve is busy. Also plan to listen to the plans for the annual Valentines soiree. Stampede Jam Session Thursday nights 6pm Chugwater Saloon 417 1st St. Chugwater, WY Typically 10-12 musicians turn up to get down, have some fun, and swap tunes. Contact Merwyn Nilson at 307-422-3200 for more information. Rick’s Closeout Deals for 2018 Rick (one of the characters in thisy here photo) has loads of cool stuff. Electric, acoustic, guitars, basses, violins, banjos, amps, pedals, you name it… Call him at 635-7694 if you need any music related gear. You’ve been good this year, right? Santa would approve you filling your own stocking with music gear, so give Rick a shout. The other character in the photo is Cathy, just so’s ya knows.
