During the Forum there will be an opportunity Weekly/ 14 - 28 to hear from local businesses, organisations and individuals who have contributed to the development Monthly of our ‘Dementia Friendly Community’. Social Activities The forum will give you the opportunity to chat with members of the Community Carers 29 - 31 Mental Health Team for Older Adults, including our Social Workers, CPNs, Support Workers, Dementia Adviser, Psychology Team and Contacts 32 more. The Dementia Forum is also an opportunity for you to have your say on local services and what you would like to see improved or developed further in the future. It can be used by anyone, but has been designed for, and with, people living with dementia and their carers. The app has pictures of objects from across the decades, which are brought to life with sound, music and descriptions, and provide an easy-to-use way to help people living with dementia explore things that resonate with them. You can browse the objects, which include everyday things such as cinema tickets, a Singer sewing machine and a 10 shilling note. You can save your favourite objects to a digital memory tree, digital memory box or timeline. Rallyround Rally Round is a free and secure online tool that allows family members, friends and carers to organise support for someone they care about. Members in someone’s Rally Round group, including the person them- selves, are able to add tasks which need doing such as shopping, DIY and social activities. Members can then choose to take on these tasks and click to show when they are completed. Text and email alerts remind everyone what needs doing, who is doing what and when things need to be done. Residents of Bracknell Forest are able to set this up for free. Website: www.rallyroundme.com Picture Guess App An app that’s been specifically designed to provide cognitive stimulation for people living with dementia. This can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store (iPad only) and Google Play (just search for ‘Picture Guess’) Storii App Storii was created to help families and care workers in residential care settings create per- sonalised life stories for people living with dementia. Families are able to use the platform to share family photos and other media. Care staff can log in and show residents what has been uploaded to their account and run reminiscence sessions to track what is useful for improving a resident's level of happiness and wellbeing. We carry out research in memory and cognition with mature adults. We are currently looking for people in the following groups:- Younger People with Dementia or Mild Cognitive Impairment (diagnosis at age 65 or younger) People who have had a recent diagnosis of dementia and attended a memory clinic in the last 2-3 months People diagnosed with Lewy body dementia or Fronto- temporal dementia Any other diagnosis related to memory problems For most research studies we can come to you, so you will not have to travel. He reported that to date 30 responses had been received to the 750 letters that had been distributed to local residents regarding parking in the local area. He had already contacted 75% of the respondents and the issues centred around commuter parking and generally people parking badly and disregarding yellow lines. In particular, around Martin Heron’s train station, parking wardens would be visiting the area daily. Residents stated that if Police were accessible, parking problems could be easily sorted out, however on occasions Police were not available to assist. Generally residents would like to see the Police being more proactive. It was reported that one resident had car parked across their driveway twice, in two days.

The Herbert Protocol records key information about a person with dementia so should they go missing in the Bracknell Forest 15 future this information is available. Homes Activities The Herbert Protocol is a national initiative and is named after George Herbert, who lived with Bracknell Forest 16 dementia. He died while he was Libaries ‘missing’ on his way to his child- hood home. Triple ‘A’ 17 The form can be completed by Alzheimer’s 18 people with dementia or their Society family members/carers and kept in a safe accessible place. By Alzheimer’s Cafe 19 completing the form in advance, it will not only speed up the time taken to gather this vital information about YPWD 20 the person but will also avoid additional stress for carers at a very anxious Physical Exercise 21 time. The Herbert Protocol will help to ensure that the police and partner Alzheimer’s 22 agencies, including the volunteer search and rescue teams, have the best Dementia Support possible information should someone with dementia go missing and a search needs to be conducted to find them.
