NOTICE OF ELECTION GENERAL ELECTION AND NONPARTISAN JUDICIAL RUN-OFF

The Board of Election Commissioners of Washington County, , pursuant to Arkansas election law 7-5-202, does hereby proclaim that a General Election will be held in Washington County, Arkansas, on Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

On Election Day, voters may vote only at the polling site for their precinct. Because of the expected large turnout, poll supervisors may not be able to get through to the County Clerk’s office to verify your voting location if different from the one you went to.

To check your voter registration status and find your polling place go to www.voterview.org. If your voter registration has changed and if you have questions concerning your eligibility to vote, or don’t have access to the internet, please call the County Clerk’s office at 444-1711 prior to Election Day.

City of Elm Springs: Annexation of the territory described in Ordinance No. 2012-03(Washington County) and No. 2012-04 (Benton County).

City of Johnson: Electing alderman for each ward in the City of Johnson for four (4) year terms to begin with half of those alderman elected at the general election held in November 2014 and to begin with the other half of the alderman elected at the general election in 2016.

City of Prairie Grove: Adopting Ordinance 2012-14 electing Aldermen of the City of Prairie Grove to staggered, four-year terms, beginning with the 2014 General Election.

City of Springdale: To Authorize the off-premises sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday in Springdale, Arkansas, between the hours of 10:00 am and 12 midnight.

City of Tontitown: The sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption in Tontitown, Washington County, Arkansas as authorized in Arkansas code § 3-9-201 et seq

The sale of alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption on Sunday in Tontitown, Washington County, Arkansas as authorized by law.

An Initiative to Repeal Tontitown City Ordinance No. 2008-08-318 to Repeal the Tontitown Water and Sewer Commission and to Organize a Water and Sewer Committee.

City of West Fork: An initiative to Repeal West Fork City Ordinance 79, as amended by Ordinance 86; The city of West Fork is hereby authorized and directed to do everything necessary, proper, and expedient to dissolve the West Fork Waterworks and Sewer Commission, and to establish a West Fork Municipal Water and Sewer Department overseen by the Mayor and City Council, to undertake the obligations and responsibilities of the West Fork Waterworks and Sewer Commission.

State Issues:

ISSUE NO. 1: AN AMENDMENT TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR STATE HIGHWAYS, COUNTY ROADS, CITY STREETS, BRIDGES, AND OTHER SURFACE TRANSPORTATION.

ISSUE NO. 2: AN AMENDMENT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL AND COUNTY FINANCING OF SALES TAX ANTICIPATED REVENUE BOND PROJECTS, UNFUNDED LIABILITIES OF CLOSED LOCAL POLICE AND FIRE PENSION PLANS, AND REAL AND TANGIBLE PERSONAL PROPERTY.

ISSUE NO. 3: AN AMENDMENT TO ALLOW NANCY TODD’S POKER PALACE AND ENTERTAINMENT VENUES, LLC TO OWN AND OPERATE FOUR CASINO GAMING ESTABLISHMENTS, ONE EACH IN PULASKI, MILLER, FRANKLIN AND CRITTENDEN COUNTIES

ISSUE NO. 4: AN AMENDMENT TO ALLOW ARKANSAS HOTELS AND ENTERTAINMENT, INC. TO OWN AND OPERATE SEVEN CASINO GAMING ESTABLISHMENTS, ONE EACH IN SEBASTIAN, PULASKI, GARLAND, MILLER, CRITTENDEN, BOONE AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES

ISSUE NO. 5: THE ARKANSAS MEDICAL MARIJUANA ACT

Absentee ballots will be opened, and processed beginning at 9:00 a.m. on November 6, 2012 in the Northeast Conference Room on the 5th floor of the Washington County Courthouse. The absentee and early ballots will be tabulated beginning at 5 p.m. in the Quorum Court Room of the Washington County Courthouse. Those results will not be reported until after 7:30 p.m.

The Election Day Ballots from the precincts listed above will be counted beginning after 7:30 p.m., also in the Quorum Court Room of the Washington County Courthouse.
