They are found in western and eastern Nepal, including central Nepal, such as Kaski, Lamjung, Baglung, Gorkha, and Dhading. But you will visit their villages that are in western Nepal where you will also see lots of mountains, including hills and forests. If you have decided on the Gurung Heritage Trail in 2022, then you can directly fly to Pokhara, the city of lakes, which has the Pokhara International Airport. Thus you will save 2 days, and you do not need to fly to Kathmandu as shown in the itinerary below. The representative of Travel Max Guide will help you to check in a hotel and from there guide you to the final destination of the Gurung Heritage Trail. Travel Insurance Travel Insurance is a must because you are trekking near the mountains at an altitude of more than 3000 m. You must ensure in your country before coming to Nepal, before starting your trek. Please bring with you a copy of insurance, and your insurance policy must cover the medical expenses, helicopter evacuation from the altitude of 5000 m to 6000 m, and other things related to your health. Please give the copy to TRAVEL MAX GUIDE. It will send the information to the insurance company if you use the mountain rescue operation, mentioned above. Passport and visa Before coming to Nepal, your passport has must have the validity of 6 months, and you can put the visa on your passport at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal. The current cost of the Nepalese visa is the US $ 40 for 30 days, and you must also bring 4 passport-sized photos. If you are from China or SAARC countries, a free visa will be provided to you. Trekking Information The following are the best seasons for trekking in Nepal, and each of these has its charm, the one which is on the top of the list is the best. Winter season (December – February, including September, October, and November) Spring season (March-May) As a trekker, you can do different types of trekking in Nepal, and they have been given below. Outline Itinerary & Maps Day 01: Arrival and transfer to hotel Welcome to the Land of Himalayas, a birthplace of Lord Buddha; known as "The Light of Asia" and also the City Of Temples- Kathmandu Valley. To receive you, our staff will be at the Tribhuvan International Airport. You can notice him, holding company signboard. After that, will transfer you to the hotel. If you have some spare time, you can walk to the street of Thamel. A company representative will meet you and explain to you about your trip in detail. Accomodation: 125 Single Room:Twin sharing/Private room Meals:212 Day 02: Sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley The sightseeing that you are going to do, today, comprises of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and they can be categorized as Stupas, Temples, and Palaces. The sightseeing can be personalized, according to your interest, and all the effective route planning for the sightseeing will be done by the city guide of TMG, focusing on all the values of your satisfaction like how much time you want to spend, the mode of transportation you want to choose, such as rickshaw, private car, cycle, and it also takes walking distance into account. Kathmandu Durbar Square From the hotel where you are staying, nothing is near the Kathmandu Durbar Square. It was a ceremonial site; it was a palace where the would-be kings used to be coronated in the past, now it is a palace cum museum, and to be there is to experience how the royals spend their life. Stand among the monuments, temples, and statues that back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) Be well prepared in advance because this stupa is located at quite an altitude and is more than 2,000 years old. This is the most important of all the Buddhist Stupas in Nepal and has a fascinating face of Lord Buddha on every side, and its base has the stonework of 5 Dhyani Buddhas – Vairocana, Ratnasambhava, Amitabha, Amoghasiddhi, and Aksobhya, and each of these represents the wisdom of Lord Buddha. People flock to this stupa to see the birds- eye view of Kathmandu. Pashupatinath Pashupatinath is as old as the hills, but the Hindu Committees of Nepal, looks after it, such as renovation and maintenance, and there are new adds on in and around the temple. Pashupatinath is the most important temple of Lord Shiva and located not far away from the heart of Kathmandu. Only Hindus are permitted to enter from the main gate to Pashupatinath Temple. As a visitor, you will enjoy the rich combination of architecture from a distance. If you are lucky, then you might see the Hindu Cremation taking place. Bouddhanath Bouddhanath is also a stupa. It is one of the holiest pilgrimages of the Buddhists. It has a white doom just like Swayambhunath, whatever the myth is, it contains the bones of Kasyapa Buddha (Buddha incarnation), while others say it contains the bone of Lord Buddha. Around the base of the stupa are 108 small images of the Dhyani Buddha Amitabha. Go anytime to enjoy these images. After that, you will head to the tourist bus station. Approximately after traveling 6 hours, will reach the City of Lake- Pokhara. On the way, you will see the beautiful landscapes, villages, rivers and small towns. In the evening time, you can walk through the beautiful lake, Fewa Lake and Lakeside of Pokhara. It's a touristic place in Nepal where you can spend you memorable evening time.     Successful Tourism at Heritage Places A GUIDE FOR TOURISM OPERATORS HERITAGE MANAGERS AND COMMUNITIES this Foreword The Australian Heritage Commission (AHC) and the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, with the assistance of the Cooperative Research Centre for Sustainable Tourism (CRC) have over several years explored issues of common concern about the responsible use of Australia’s heritage places for tourism. We have aimed to move beyond general notions of the incompatibility of tourism and heritage conservation toward emphasising the potential contributions that tourism can make. Discussions over the last few years have demonstrated that impacts can often be managed effectively. There is much common ground and great potential for benefits all round. In this guide we have provided information to help people more clearly under- stand the issues involved and have developed some practical pointers for those aiming for successful and responsible tourism at heritage places. We hope this guide is a useful springboard for you. Aboriginal Tourism Australia i Developing this guide In 1998, the Australian Heritage Commission and the Department of Industry, Science and Resources identified the need to develop guidelines for tourism where heritage places are involved. This followed recognition that there needed to be a stronger bridge between tourism industry codes of practice and heritage conservation principles. A steering committee was established (see Acknowledgments) and the National Centre for Tourism was employed to produce a draft document in 1999. This final document has resulted from submissions from tourism operators, heritage managers and community groups across Australia. The document incorporates key elements of international and national tourism research, strategies, guidelines and codes of practice (see Section 7).

    Open Space, Conservation, and Recreation Needs in Sussex County Photo by Tanya Nolte Wetlands “Open space is good politically, good economically, good for biodiversity, and good for water supply.” Austin Carew, Chair, Sussex County’s Open Space Committee at a Freeholder Board meeting on May 14, 2003. This section of the plan discusses the open space, conservation, and recreation needs in Sussex County, as described by those active throughout the county in land conservation and stewardship. The needs derive from 11 outreach meetings conducted from March through May of 2003 with the following participants: • non-profit conservation organizations (1 meeting); • state and federal resource managers (1 meeting); • organizations that provide recreation services, such as hunting clubs and birding organizations (1 meeting); • regional meetings with Sussex County municipal leaders (8 meetings). As discussed in the previous section, a part of these meetings identified specific areas for preservation and the reasons why these areas should be targeted which resulted in a list of open space preservation goals. The other section of each meeting was devoted to discussing impediments to conservation and other barriers or issues that prevent efficient land conservation in Sussex County. The results of that discussion are described below. VI. Open Space, Conservation & Recreation Needs 87 The structure of this approach gives a strong voice to those most familiar with the conservation issues of Sussex County. The interests of the participants varied, but all are integral in forging conservation solutions in the county. A sampling of participants included: • park superintendents, managers, and rangers; • mayors; • planning board members; • municipal managers and administrators; • land conservation professionals; • environmental commissioners and open space committee members; • Sussex County federation of sportsmen representatives; • governing body members; • recreation advisory commission members.
