Il festival è parte del programma Trieste Estate 2019 Piazza Verdi 18 luglio 2019, ore 21 Giovedì 18 luglio, alle ore 21 in Piazza Verdi, con ingresso libero, il Festival TriesteLovesJazz ospita uno dei più grandi interpreti contemporanei della soul music: Frank McComb, sul palcoscenico con il suo quartetto. Il Festival si svolge nell’ambito di Trieste Estate 2019, la rassegna di eventi e spettacoli di vario genere promossa e organizzata dal Comune di Trieste per animare le serate estive cittadine, giunta alla sua sedicesima edizione. Frank McComb è la sintesi creativa di vari universi musicali, dove il soul di Donny Hathaway e di Stevie Wonder incontra il jazz e la fusion di Herbie Hancock, il funk anni '70, il Rhythm & Blues e il gospel. McComb è a tutti gli effetti il volto contemporaneo della soul music, conservando nella sua musica il gusto della "old school" che arriva dritta al cuore, accompagnata da arrangiamenti e sonorità innovativi. Classe 1970, originario di Cleveland, Ohio, inizia il suo percorso nel mondo della musica appena dodicenne quando si appassiona al pianoforte grazie alla zia. La formazione dell'artista avviene direttamente sul campo, iniziando a suonare in giro per gli States già all'età di quindici anni, e senza più fermarsi da allora. Richiestissimo sui palchi di tutto il mondo, ha suonato con i giganti della musica mondiale: Teena Marie, Chaka Khan, Philip Bailey, Lalah Hathaway, Terri Lynn Carrington, Phyllis Hyman and Teddy Pendergrass, Marcus Miller, Richard Bona, Branford Marsalis, Prince, e altri ancora. Con la Columbia Records pubblica gli album “Buckshot LeFonque” e “Music Evolution” come cantante del gruppo "Buckshot Lafonque", noti ai più per il bellissimo successo "Another day". Dopo essere stato anche sotto contratto per la Motown Records, decide di gestire il suo lavoro in prima persona e nel 2005 fonda l’etichetta indipendente Boobeescoot Music. Bisogna ascoltarlo per credere alla magia che la sua musica e la sua voce possono creare. Accanto a McComb (voce e tastiera) suonano Glenn Gaddum al basso, Kick Woundstra alla batteria e Yariv Vroom alle percussioni. The last performance is the dawn concert on Molo Audace (a central pier, close to the main square) on the 11th of August.
