I. Confirmation of Minutes of the 1st Working Group on Illegal Parking in Sai Kung District (IPWG) Meeting held on 4 May 2020 (about 5 minutes)

II. Matters Arising (about 15 minutes)

(A) Explore the possibility of opening up some road sections for designation as temporary night-time parking places to tackle the existing problem of insufficient parking spaces

(B) Request the Government to review the existing traffic and transport facilities near the junction of Po Tung Road and Mei Yu Street and to provide a public car park, so as to reduce the traffic flow in Centre (SKDC(IPWG) Paper No. 2/20)

(C) Request for improving the problem of illegal parking at Kan Hok Lane roundabout near Ming Yu House Request for stepping up efforts in tackling illegal parking at Tong Tak Street and Tong Yin Street Request for inter-departmental efforts to holistically combat illegal parking at Tong Tak Street roundabout near Beverly Garden Request for inter-departmental efforts to holistically combat illegal parking outside Sheung Tak Bus Terminus Request for improving the problem of illegal parking and road safety at Mau Tai Road and Yuk Nga Lane in as soon as possible Question on how the Police and Transport Department would tackle the problem of illegal parking in Tseung Kwan O South (SKDC(IPWG) Paper No. 3/20)

(A) Request for reviewing the parking space ratios set out in the Planning Standards and Guidelines to increase the number of parking spaces in Sai Kung and Tseung Kwan O as soon as possible by fully adhering to the principle of “single site, multiple use” and adopting the multi-pronged approach, as well as reviewing transport policies in parallel to contain vehicle growth and parking demand Request the Government to introduce “smart car parks” and adopt all practicable measures to solve the problems of insufficient parking spaces and illegal parking given the current inadequate supply of car parking spaces in Sai Kung, Hang Hau and Tseung Kwan O

(B) Issue about illegal parking in Tseung Kwan O South

(C) Enquiry about the situation of illegal parking in Sai Kung Central

(D) Enquiry about the usage of metered parking spaces in Sai Kung Central

(E) Request the relevant departments to handle abandoned vehicles as soon as possible
