Totally 20 species of Entomobryomorpha belonging to 4 families, 8 subfamilies and 13 genera were collected and identified from Kermanshah. The genus Subisotoam (Stach, 1947) with two species Subisotoma variabilis Gisin, 1949 and Cyphoderus bidenticulatus Parona, 1888 are newly recorded for fauna of Iran. Families Paronellidae and Tomoceridae, two genera Cyphoderus Nicolet, 1842 and Tomocerus Nicolet, 1842 and two species Tomocerus vulgaris (Tullberg, 1871) and Cyphoderus albinus Nicolet, 1842 are also new for Kermanshah province. We also provided the checklist of the Entomobryomorpha fauna which have been reported in different reign of Kermanshah province until now. The present list contains 36 species belonging to 15 genera and 4 families. -

As water transfer from remote areas was almost impossible until few centuries ago, water supply was more important in the past, when life would have been fully interrupted and settlements evacuated in case of drought. On the one hand, many studies indicate that faults play a major role in the location of springs outflow; on the other hand, the fault structure specifies the rivers’ path in many cases. This study aimed to investigate the role of fault in the establishment and survival of human settlements in Sahneh County, Iran. Firstly, the correlation between the springs-rivers distribution and the location of faults in the area was calculated. Then, a correlation analysis was run between the springs with fault origin and rivers influenced by tectonic structures, on the one hand, and the distribution of settlements in the area on the other hand. -

Up till now only 20 species were recorded for the country including 9 autochthonous and 11 peregrine species. The Zagros Mts. of Iran possesses unique geographical and climatic conditions that support a rich biota. Surprisingly enough the earthworm fauna of the region has not been studied earlier. A new survey carried out in the Central Zagros Mountain resulted in recording 24 earthworm species distributed in two families, Lumbricidae (22 species) and Acanthodrilidae (two species) including 6 new country records (Aporrectodea longa, D. pentheri, D. semitica, Microscolex dubius, Microscolex phosphoreus) and furthermore a species new to science; Eisenia omranii sp. nov. According to the zoogeographic composition, out of the 24 species recorded, 14 are widely introduced peregrine ones and 10 are autochtonous of East-Mediterranean origin. In comparison with previously surveyed Elburz region with 14 recorded earthworm species, the Zagrosian earthworm fauna proved to be much richer in term of species number. -
The Location of the Parthian City of Bagistana in Bisotun, Kermanshah: a Proposal

Many accounts of political and historical events are written with partiality, but compared with these texts, geographical literature is more reliable. One significant and val- uable source for this period is “Parthian Stations” by Isidore of Charax, written early in the first century AD. In this book, Isidore mentions numerous cities, vil- lages, and habitations that he saw during a long journey to the eastern parts of the Parthian territory, and has contributed much to our limited knowledge of Parthian geography. While describing Parthian habitations in the land of Medes, he men- tions the city of Bagistana and reports its topographical location. Considering the archaeological and historical evidence, a recently investigated Parthian site in Bisotun appears to be the most appropriate site to identify with this city. Among the different specimens collected, the species Neoasterolepisma priesneri (Stach, 1946) was found, being new for Iran and for Asia. Moreover, the capture of a representative of the genus Trinemophora (Schaeffer, 1897) represents the first citation of the family Protrinemuridae in Iran. International Journal of the Society of Iranian Archaeologists Vol. 2, No. 4, Summer- Autumn 2016 An Analytical Study on the Bronze Age Cultures of Harsin, Kermanshah Province (Iran) Parisa Naseri University of Shahrekord Mohammad Eghbal Chehri Islamic Azad University Received: May, 30, 2016 Accepted: October, 21, 2016 Abstract: Despite the fact that the prehistoric period and particularly the Bronze Age in Central Zagros have been well studied and identified to some extent, no systematic research has been conducted by foreign or Iranian archeologists on the subject of Harsin County. A total of 29 sites belonging to the Bronze Age have been identified in the archeological investigation of the region between 2002 and 2010. Based on the surface findings, all of these sites belong to the Middle and Late Bronze Age. Furthermore, it was discovered that most of these sites formed on the banks of permanent and seasonal rivers and lakes. As for the extent of residential sites of Bronze Age in the region and their location, it is implied that there were rather important and large sites along with small villages, indicating close relationships with the neighboring regions at the end of the third millennium and the beginning of the second millennium B.C. (Middle Bronze Age). The significance of the current study lies in the fact that no evidence was obtained from the Early Bronze Age (Yanik Culture), while the region has maintained numerous cultural relationships with the neighboring areas such as Kangavar with ceramics such as Godin III, Mahidasht and Lorestan from the Middle to Late Bronze Age. -

Petrology, Bu- Ali Sina University, Hamedan, Iran 3Bu-Ali Sina University, Iran 4Department of Agriculture, Payam Noor University, Ghasre Shirin, Iran Abstract: Kermanshah Ophiolite is an extremely crushed Ophiolitic complex in which a complete Ophiolitic sequence is not observed. Gabbros, dykes and mostly Serpentinized Peridotites are among the most important constituents of these Ophiolitic set. Peridotites existing in the study area are of metamorphosized types that have been severely affected by the hydrothermal solutions due to their extremely crushed conditions and have tolerated almost a severe alteration. Such decompositions and destructions result in creation of secondary minerals of the Serpentine group (Lizardite, Chrysotile, Antigorite), Talc, Magnesite and Brucite). A survey of the secondary minerals existing in the Peridotite show that the study area has been undergone a low temperature metasomatism at the green schist face level and then the region temperature has risen up to the Amphibiolitic face level due to metamorphosization. In this paper the conditions and the reactions relating to the formation procedure of any of the above said minerals have been surveyed. J Biochem Tech (2018) Special Issue (2): 57-68 ISSN: 0974-2328 Potential Mapping of Chromite Deposits of South-West Sahneh Ophiolites in Kermanshah Province Mahshid Nozarifar*, Taghi Nabai, Seyed Reza Mehrnia Received: 11 March 2018 / Received in revised form: 20 July 2018, Accepted: 25 July 2018, Published online: 05 September © Biochemical Technology Society 2014-2018 © Sevas Educational Society 2008 Abstract The ophiolite complex of Sahneh is considered as a part of the sequences in Zagros suture zone. The studied ophiolite complex dating back to the late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian), formed in the two north and south ore body has been occurred in the southwest of Sahneh. In this complex, there is no complete ophiolitic sequence and generally, the existing lithologies of the region in the order of frequency consist of serpentinized ultramafic (harzburgitic peridotite, serpentine, dunite). The apical minerals analyzed in the polished sections in the order of frequency are magnetite, chromite and pyrite with less frequency, respectively. Chromium lenses are located in severely serpentinized harzburgites. Primary textures in chromite include cataclastic and lattice texture. The presence of cataclastic texture indicates active tectonics in the region, which causes corrosion in the chromites. The geochemical investigations of 7 rock samples by ICP-OES method and statistical approaches are indicated that the iron and chromite of the studied area have a remarkable and positive correlation with the presence of chromite in the mineralogical studies. The average of the main elements and mineralization factors in the region are Cr 493 ppm and Mg (ppm 03/0) and AL (2133 ppm) and FE (4490 ppm) and Ni (3255 ppm).
