BBethel Lodge Installation / Pg. 33 AAlgonquin Lodge Official Visit/ Pg.4 4 JJoin the Scottish Rite Now/ Pg.82 RRAM Installation / Pg. 93 From the District Deputy Passed To The Brethren: It is cold outside. But warmth prevails in every lodge in this District and in every lodge in this Grand Grand Lodge Above Invitation to Grand Master’s Reception/ Pg.2 Jurisdiction. It is not only the heat in the building but the warmth of fellowship that greets you at the door of the lodge. In this month’s newsletter, I would like to share with you something that is very important to me, and I believe very important to every Lodge.

That is Lodge Attendance. Gore Bay Lodge attend W. Bro. Harold Thompson, Powassan Lodge # 443 said in his Master’s M.W. Bro. David C. Bradley Tunis Shriners Grand Master 1989 - 1991 Installation / Pg. 5 Message December 2012 and quoted and congratulated by M. W. Bro. D. Garry Dowling in his Blog. R.W. Bro. Eric T. Moore Congratulations & Best Some of his points are listed below: Sudbury Lodge No. 658 National Lodge No. 588 Wishes / Pgs. 6 & 7 “Time spent in Lodge, with more experienced Masons (trainers?) can have a huge positive impact on every Mason. Time spent in Lodge can WE CHERISH THEIR Mavar Preceptory only improve a Mason’s performance and encourage him to interact MEMORY IN OUR Installation / Pg. 9 more.” And believe me when I say that I know, with today’s fast paced HEARTS

lives of some of our younger members, how available time can play a big Cryptic Rite in a Brothers attendance. I still have small children at home, and I’m quite a few days away from Installation / Pg. 10 retirement, but I still keep in mind that I joined my Lodge for myself. It’s something that I make time for,

not try to find time for?? There’s the aspect of "Fellowship". Shouldn’t someone want to hang out with the February Tracing Board / Pg. 11 guys in their Lodge once or twice a month?? Why belong otherwise??

Let’s face it; those who attend Lodge get more out of Freemasonry than those who don’t. That’s that, Sudbury Shrine Club everyone knows it. It is true, however, that you can get a lot out of Freemasonry by reading about it, and Installation / Pg. 12 there are hundreds of sources available for anyone who wants to research it, but I believe that there is more

District Project to Freemasonry than it’s words alone. Much more.

No. 2506 / Pg. 13 When we attend Lodge on a regular basis, it reminds us that we are a fraternity, a brotherhood, a collection of tens of thousands of places where Masons meet, greet, and share. That we get extra value out of extra Sudbury Shrine Club activities of meeting, greeting, and sharing. It reminds us that we’re the oldest and largest international fraternity of like minded beliefs in the world. We share mutual experiences and a frequency of new and renewed friendships. We share a knowledge imbedded in the fabric of Freemasonry through its rituals and the design of how all our Lodges operate. Knowledge about important truths concerning life and living.”

So Brethren, let’s not just make the time, let’s take the time to attend Lodge.

CLICK HERE TO I am going to leave you with a quote from a 6th century BCE, Chinese philosopher named Lao Tzu. He VISIT OUR WEBSITE has always interested me, and I think this quote is as fitting to the theme as any other; Thanks again. W.M. Harold Thompson. "Time is a created thing; to say that 'I don’t have the time" is like saying 'I don’t want to' " - Lao Tzu.”

Brethren, I hope you take the time to visit the website and read the message in its entirety. I look forward to sitting in lodge with you soon, I am…

Sincerely and fraternally.

Councils of Cryptic Masons form the centre body of the York Rite of Freemasonry. A Master Mason my join a Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and receive the four degrees of that organization. After which he may seek further knowledge in Freemasonry and join a Council of Cryptic Masons. Ancient Cryptic Masonry centers on the story of the preservation, loss and recovery of the Word. The Word represents man's search for life's purpose and the nature of GOD. Symbolic Freemasonry, as in the Lodge, teaches of the loss of the Word and hope for its recovery. Royal Arch Masonry, as in the Chapter, teaches its recovery. Cryptic Masonry, as in the Council, completes this story by teaching of the Word's initial preservation. Freemasonry

Sudbury-Manitoulin Freemasons

Helping to feed the hungry

On any given day, a number of members of the public go without the necessities of life. Many are hungry and I would like to see the Freemasons of this District help to feed the hungry.

Income Tax receipts would be issued by the

Foundation and the brethren would be able to claim a deduction for income tax purposes.

Each member of the District is asked to donate to the

Masonic Foundation Project for the Sudbury-

Manitoulin Food Bank

The benefits to the District would be to gain some recognition from the general public.

The benefits to the members would be a feeling of accomplishment in the cause of good.

I expect that many of our members would help with this project and make a contribution for the cause of good.

“This is our Project and it deserves your support
