Tržič in Tržiško Na Prelomu 18. V 19. Stoletje
2020 1.01 Izvirni znanstveni članek UDK 631.111(23.01):67(497.452Tržič)"18" Prejeto: 20. 5. 2020 Alenka Kačičnik Gabrič dr., višja arhivistka, Arhiv Republike Slovenije, Zvezdarska 1, SI–1000 Ljubljana E-pošta: [email protected] Tržič in Tržiško na prelomu 18. v 19. stoletje IZVLEČEK V članku opisano območje Tržiča z okolico je v prvi polovici 19. stoletja kazalo pisano podobo. Ana, Sv. Katarina, kmetovanje, obrt ABSTRACT TRŽIČ AND ITS SURROUNDINGS AT THE TURN OF THE NINETEENTH CENTURY The article describes the area of Tržič and its surroundings, which in the first half of the nineteenth century exhibi ted a highly diversified image. Running a farm around Tržič was a challenging task, primarily due to the heavily accessible terrain. The survival of farms, where sometimes not even the greatest effort would produce sufficient crops for the families to sustain themselves until the next harvest, was ensured by the farmers’ proverbial Upper Carniolan tenacity and shrewdness as well as by also engaging in horsedrawn transportation, charcoal production, and so on. -

1 Andreja Eržen (Ljubljana Graduate School of Humanities, Slovenia
Andreja Eržen (Ljubljana Graduate School of Humanities, Slovenia) AFFIRMATION OF THE SLOVENIAN LANGUAGE Slovenian grammars and dictionaries from 16 th to 19 th century 1. Introduction One of the main questions, which appear very often in the Slovenian linguistics, is the problem of the construction of the national language and its link with the national consciousness. Must or should this national language be identical to the language of the people? And who this “people” really are: peasants in the village, bourgeoisie in the towns, the clergy or the few intellectuals? The period between 16 th and 19 th century was the most vivant and important for the development of the dialects, spoken on Slovene territories. Until the middle of the 19 th century Slovene philologists succeeded to create the basis for the literary language, based on the central Slovenian dialect. During the history of the language and its development, three questions appeared to be most present: − The relation between Slovenian language/its dialects and other Slavic languages, − The relation of the peripheral literary dialects to the central standard, − The role of the sixteenth-century norm for the modern language. During the centuries grammars and dictionaries played an important role in the development of the languages. The 16 th century presents a turning point in the history of a language; the protestant writers began to write in their native language. Their main aim was to make the ecclesiastical rituals comprehensible to the people. It was also the time of the first grammars, describing vernaculars, although mostly in Latin. The Protestantism gave three main pillars, on which the national language was later on constructed: first grammar (Adam Bohori č, Arcticae Horulae , 1584), first dictionary (Hieronimus Megiser, Dictionairium quatuor linguarum, videlicet germanicae, latinae, illyricae, 1592) and first translation of the Bible (Jurij Dalmatin, Biblia, tv ie, vse svetv pismv, stariga inu noviga testamenta, slovenski, tolmazhena, 1584). -
Avant-Gardes in Yugoslavia
Filozofski vestnik | Letnik XXXVII | Številka 1 | 2016 | 201–219 Miško Šuvaković* Avant-Gardes in Yugoslavia In this study, I will approach the avant-gardes as interdisciplinary, internation- ally oriented artistic and cultural practices.1 I will present and advocate the the- sis that the Yugoslav avant-gardes were a special geopolitical and geo-aesthetic set of artistic and cultural phenomena defined by the internal dynamics and interrelations of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and by the external dynamics, cosmopolitan relations, and inter- nationalisations of local artistic excess and experimentation with international avant-garde practices. I will devote special attention to the local and interna- tional networking of cities as the political and cultural environments where the avant-gardes took place. Above all, the avant-gardes thereby acquired the char- acter of extremely urban artistic and cultural phenomena. Introductory Interpretation of the Concept of the Avant-garde Discussing the status, functions, and effects of any avant-garde does not boil down to asking what phenomenal or conceptual, i.e. formalist, qualities are characteristic of an avant-garde work of art, the behaviour of an avant-garde artist, or her private or public life. On the contrary, equally important are direc- tional questions regarding the instrumental potentialities or realisations of the avant-garde as an interventional material artistic practice in between or against dominant and marginal domains, practices, or paradigms within historical or 201 present cultures. Avant-garde artistic practices are historically viewed as trans- formations of artistic, cultural, and social resistances, limitations, and ruptures within dominant, homogeneous or hegemonic artistic, cultural, and social en- vironments. -
