It’s been an amazing year, and F1 Digest is here to guide you through this final Grand Prix weekend. Vital Statistics Date: 2nd November Circuit: Interlagos Length: 4.3km Laps: 71 2007 Winner: Kimi Raikkonen Last Year Last year’s championship showdown at Brazil was thrill‐a‐minute, so let’s remind ourselves of that before we look at what to expect this year. [Begin Montage] Chris: Hamilton headed up the queue in the third session, followed by Alonso. There were quite a few of them sat there with their engines overheating, with over a minute to go. Alonso appeared to be hassling Hamilton around the first few corners, but not really close enough for any major manoeuvres. [Next Clip] Me: But McLaren have that guy in the pits this week, don’t they? The FIA inspector making sure things like that wouldn’t happen. [Next Clip] Chris: Raikkonen got past Hamilton off the line, and then he was side by side with Massa but had to fall behind at the first corner. In doing so, he held up Hamilton which allowed Alonso to get past as well. Hamilton tried to regain his position but ran really wide, lost tons of places, he ended up back in 8th. [Next Clip] Chris: Hamilton got past Trulli straight away and Heidfeld practically let him through but on the next lap, he slowed right down, cars were streaming past him. He couldn’t find any gears. -

PR Document 2020 Japanese Super Formula Championship Series Media Information August 27 2020 1 Super Formula : Then and Now In the 1950s, the Fédération Internationale de I’Automobile (FIA) launched the Drivers’ Championship to find the world’s fastest formula car drivers the purest form of racing machine. That ethos was passed on to all FIA national member organizations.Top-level formula motor racing has been held in Japan in various forms since 1973, when Formula 2000 was first launched. The competition evolved into Formula Two in 1978 and then Formula 3000 in 1987. Japan Race Promotion, Inc. (JRP) was established in 1995 and continued carrying the competition torch in 1996 under the name of Formula Nippon. In 2013, the name of the competition was changed again to Japanese Championship Super Formula and a bold plan was implemented to upgrade the race cars and lift the profile of the competition with the clear aim of spreading the appeal of Super Formula from Japan to other parts of Asia. Another hope was to turn the series into a third great open-wheel racing competition to go along with Formula One and IndyCar. The competition’s name was changed again in 2016 to Japanese Super Formula Championship. In 2017, BS Fuji began broadcasting live Super Formula races, giving many motorsport fans the chance to watch championship races on free-to-air television. In the early days, formula racing in Japan was led by top drivers such as Kunimitsu Takahashi, Kazuyoshi Hoshino and Satoru Nakajima, who later competed on the global stage in Formula One. -

Porsche 919 Hybrid Return to top-level sport Porsche is making its comeback to the top-level motorsport arena: with the new 919 Hybrid the sports car brand is sending a platform for pioneering technology to the top category of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with the undisputed seasonal highlight of the 24-hour Le Mans race. Porsche's reputation precedes it at this venue: with 16 overall victories under its belt, the brand holds the record for this, the most famous endurance race in the world. In 2014 Porsche is returning to the top-level class endurance race after a 16-year absence - namely Le Mans Prototypes (LMP1). Matthias Müller, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG explains: "The new and revolutionary efficiency regulations for this class were what prompted us to take this step. In 2014 it is not going to be the fastest contender who is going to win the sports car world championship and Le Mans, but the car that gets furthest with the defined amount of energy. And it is precisely this challenge that the automotive industry has to face. The 919 Hybrid is like a high speed research laboratory and the most complex racing car Porsche has ever built." The new WEC regulations for the LMP1 racing car gives engineers an unusual amount of leeway and demands pioneering technology, such as hybridisation, downsizing engines and consistent lightweight construction. This is all particularly relevant for the development of future generations of factory-spec sports cars. Maximum sporting performance and highest efficiency are at the heart of "Porsche Intelligent Performance". -

For its fifth participation at Retromobile, Ascott Collection will be presenting a selection of historic racing cars. The Formula 1 car of John Surtees and Mike Hailwood, two world motorsport champions. John Surtees was greatly attached to the SURTESS TS9B # 5, keeping it right up until 1999. This historic F1 car made a name for itself in the streets of Monaco, where it regularly finished among the leaders of the 1966 -1972 editions of the Monaco Grand Prix Historique. The Chevron B16 # 4. No doubt one of the finest prototypes of the 70's. Ascott Collection is proud to have the privilege of offering for sale chassis No. 4, a B16 that is widely known for its authenticity and its history, with participations in the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1970 to its credit: in short, a car that has now acquired considerable rarity value.... Now that historic races have incorporated a new generation of racing cars, Ascott Collection will be exhibiting a 2009 ORECA FLM09 at the Historic Sportscar Racing stand. 70th ANNIVERSARY GRAND PRIX 07 August – 09 August 2020 ollowing the British Grand Prix, F1 extends its stay at Silverstone SILVERSTONE CIRCUIT Fthis week with Round Five of the 2020 FIA Formula One World Length of lap: Championship, the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix. The event has 5.891km been named in celebration of the inaugural World Championship, Lap record: 1:27.097 (Max Verstappen, Red Bull the first event of which was the British (and honorary European) Racing, 2020) Grand Prix which took place at Silverstone on May 13th 1950. Start line/finish line offset: The circuit is noted for its fast, flowing corners but the intricacies 0.134km of the lower-speed ‘Arena’ section between Abbey and the Total number of race laps: 52 Wellington Straight are often where time is to be gained or lost. Total race distance: 306.198km Silverstone is a difficult circuit on which to overtake and qualifying Pitlane speed limits: position is frequently paramount: thus, these sections receive just 80km/h in practice, qualifying, and as much attention in set-up discussions as the famed high-speed the race turns at Copse, Stowe and the Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel complex. Whereas last weekend’s British Grand Prix used the three hardest CIRCUIT NOTES compounds in Pirelli’s range, a change in allocation this weekend ► A new 23m section of kerb with taper has been installed at the exit alters the complexion of the race. For the 70th Anniversary Grand of T13 to help drivers adhere to Prix, the allocation moves a step softer with C2, C3 and C4 tyres track limits. -
