Commissioner Kenyon, I am a physician in the Treasure Valley, trained in internal medicine, public health and preventive medicine. I write to strongly ask that you stay firm on your consideration of Dr. Blue for the open CDH board seat. As I understand the role, the physician's role in the CDH board is to bring the medical expertise to the table. But this physician is not the only person making decisions/recommendations--it is the whole board. As such, you need someone who can truly bring that medical expertise. Other considerations, like personal freedom or impact on business are also part of the role, but the primary role of the physician is to provide that medical expertise. Dr. Blue is the only physician of the three who can bring the expertise needed to guide the decisions of the CDH board. COVID has monopolized the attention, but on issues of sanitation, vaccines, preventable conditions, etc., you need a physician trained in public health and epidemiology. Besides having that training, Dr. Blue is extremely thoughtful and caring. Dr. Moss does seem to have that expertise. Regarding Ryan Cole, in am puzzled and concerned about him being given any consideration at all. Not only because he doesn't have the public health expertise, but also because he a major agent in the spread of COVID misinformation in the community. And this is not about him bringing the voice of the community to the board. I think listening to the concerns of people in the community is the role of all board members and any of the candidates can do that. However, through his speeches, Dr. Cole has shown he is not capable of functioning in key roles needed for the position he seeks. He is not able to present data in an objective, dispassionate way. He is not capable of taking a large body of information, distill it using a medical/scientific approach, and present valid postions. Furthermore, he has not shown to be an advocate of workers in our public health and helathcare systems, calling into question their integrity with statements like "follow the money" when asked why so many doctors and public health experts recommend masks and vaccines. I believe that having Dr. Cole in that open board position, or even be considered as someone who needs to be consulted by whoever is picked would be detrimental to the medical validity of recommendations from the CDH board. Thank you for your consideration, Alejandro Necochea, MD, MPH From: BOCC To: BOCC Subject: FW: [EXTERNAL] Oppose Cole for Central District Health Board Date: Thursday, August 12, 2021 3:47:31 PM From: Janice Boyd <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, August 12, 2021 12:13:10 PM To: Kendra Kenyon Subject: [EXTERNAL] Oppose Cole for Central District Health Board CAUTION: This email originated from outside Ada County email servers. Dear Commissioner Kenyon, I am an Ada County resident and I am shocked that you are even considering Dr. Ryan Cole for the physician position on the Central District Health Board. Cole is linked to one of the nation’s most prolific spreaders of COVID misinformation, according to Business Insider (https://www.businessinsider.com/sherri-tenpenny-how-anti-vaxxer-fuels- pandemic-makes-money-2021-8 [businessinsider.com]), spreads disinformation himself by calling the COVID vaccine “needle rape” and the “clot shot” (https://www.boisestatepublicradio.org/politics-government/2021-08-10/doctor-up-for-idaho- health-board-spot-calls-covid-19-vaccine-needle-rape [boisestatepublicradio.org]), and has recommended the use of an unapproved treatment for COVID against the advice of the FDA, NIH, and WHO (https://idahocapitalsun.com/2021/08/09/ada-county-doctor-interviews-two-sides-of-the- coin-on-public-health/ [idahocapitalsun.com]). What is most disturbing about your consideration of Cole is that he is clearly being dishonest and, for whatever reason, willing to risk my life and the lives of other citizens of Ada County. Even though he encourages others to take dangerous and unproven actions in the face of a pandemic, he and his family ARE FULLY VACCINATED (https://www.ktvb.com/article/news/local/208/garden-city-doctor- reacts-fact-checking-his-statements-lawmakers/277-6d4ba8c6-3eb7-4334-bfe2-2052c57a7e0e [ktvb.com]). I simply cannot believe that none of you asked him questions about this dangerous, incorrect, and well documented information during his interview. I trusted you to do a job, thoroughly investigating the candidate’s qualification, yet here I am providing the information to you now. Please don’t make the problem even worse by allowing Dr. Cole to have any input into my community’s health and safety. I again urge you to select the only candidate that has experience with infectious diseases and community health, Dr. Sky Blue. But at the very least, protect the citizens of Ada county from Dr. Cole’s reckless, dangerous, and incorrect medical advice. Thank you for your consideration of public health needs for the county, the region, the nation and the world during this difficult time. Dear Ada County Commissioners, I grew up and have lived in Ada County my entire life and I have never seen such a crazy time in this area. I am appalled at the misinformation and actual outright lies being spread about the COVID virus epidemic. To disregard the science and cynically make a deadly disease a political issue is unconscionable and evil. I am writing to you because you are in the process of interviewing for the physician position for the Central District Health Board. I am writing to ask you to select Dr. Sky Blue. I feel he is the one person being interviewed that will bring the needed knowledge and experience to the position. He is actually has understanding and skill with infectious diseases and community health. I also must tell you that I am so very disturbed that you are seriously interviewing Dr. Ryan Cole.

Icons of Rock: An Encyclopedia of the Legends Who Changed Music Forever, Scott Schinder, Andy Schwartz, ABC-CLIO, 2007, 0313338450, 9780313338458, 680 pages. More than half a century after the birth of rock, the musical genre that began as a rebellious underground phenomenon is now acknowledged as America's-and the world's-most popular and influential musical medium, as well as the soundtrack to several generations' worth of history. From Ray Charles to Joni Mitchell to Nirvana, rock music has been an undeniable force in both reflecting and shaping our cultural landscape. Icons of Rock offers a vivid overview of rock's pervasive role in contemporary society by profiling the lives and work of the music's most legendary artists. Most rock histories, by virtue of their all-encompassing scope, are unable to cover the lives and work of individual artists in depth, or to place those artists in a broader context. This two-volume set, by contrast, provides extensive biographies of the 24 greatest rock n' rollers of all time, examining their influences, innovations, and impact in a critical and historical perspective. Entries inside this unique reference explore the issues, trends, and movements that defined the cultural and social climate of the artists' music. Sidebars spotlight the many iconic elements associated with rock, such as rock festivals, protest songs, and the British Invasion. Providing a wealth of information on the icons, culture, and mythology of America's most beloved music, this biographical encyclopedia will serve as an invaluable resource for students and music fans alike.. • Boise College--An Idea Grows
l I J A I BOISE COLLEGE An Idea Grows BY EUGENE B. CHAFFEE COPYRIGHTED 1970 BY EUGENE B. CHAFFEE Printed by SYMS-YORK Company Boise, Idaho U.S.A. Introduction The writing of the history of Boise College resulted from the meeting with the Board of Trustees immediately after my return from a six months sabbatical in Europe, June 1, 1967. The Board was unanimous in the request that this be the major effort of my new position of Chancellor. The writing of such a story offers the possibility of either too much subjectivity or too much objectivity when one considers that I have been President of the College for 31 years and Chancellor for almost 3 years. There is, of course, the fact that I know personally the problems and events that moved through the growth of this college. I lived Boise College from its inception in 1932 until the arrival of my successor in June of 1967. Few have ever experienced a more challenging period and enjoyed more thoroughly the crises and growth that took place during such a period. My only absence was from June 27, 1942 until my return from World War II on the 15th of September 1945. I have not trusted my memory but have amply studied the accounts of the College in Board of Trustees Minutes, the Idaho Statesman files from the spring of 1932, student and faculty publications, and the Minutes of the Boise Chamber of Commerce. These sources have been supple mented by numerous letters from Bishop Barnwell, many students and faculty, and from a large number of conversations in my office with these and others who have visited with me over the events of Boise Junior College and Boise College.
