HBO kicks off 2015 with the debut of Togetherness and the return of Girls and Looking
Miami, FL – December 9, 2014 – HBO inaugurates its slate of original programming for 2015 with the premiere of the new original comedy series Togetherness, along with the return of the critically acclaimed comedies Girls, for its fourth season, and Looking, in its second season, on Sunday, January 11th, beginning at 22:00 hrs. AST* in the Caribbean, simultaneously with the United States.
Creator and writer Lena Dunham returns for the fourth season of Girls (22:00 hrs.), the Emmy®- and Golden Globe®-winning comedy series that follows the misadventures of a group of 20-something-year-old friends in and out of New York City. As the season begins, Hannah (Dunham) leaves New York to attend the prestigious Writers’ Workshop with the hopes of becoming a more serious writer, while facing uncertainty in her relationship with Adam (Adam Driver). Meanwhile, back in New York, Marnie (Allison Williams) pursues a music career while balancing her professional and romantic relationship with Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach); Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) graduates and begins interviewing for jobs, while sorting out her relationship with Ray (Alex Karpovsky); and Jessa (Jemima Kirke) attempts to control her addiction through Alcoholics Anonymous, though her ability to stir up drama remains undiminished. By turns hilarious and heartbreaking, this season’s 10 episodes offer up some unexpected twists as the girls continue to hunt for success – creatively, professionally and romantically.
Girls is executive produced by Lena Dunham, Judd Apatow, Jenni Konner, Ilene S. Landress (HBO’s Mildred Pierce), Bruce Eric Kaplan (HBO’s Six Feet Under), Murray Miller (HBO’s Williams-Poole: 7 Days in Hell) and Paul Simms.
Immediately following the premiere of Girls is the television debut of Jay and Mark Duplass, Togetherness (22:30 hrs.). Filmed in and around the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles, the eight-episode first season follows four adults nearing 40, living under the same roof, struggling to keep their relationships and dreams alive. Brett (Mark Duplass) is a moderately successful sound mixer working hard to bring back the passion that has been lacking in his marriage, while his wife Michelle (Melanie Lynskey), no longer content as a stay-at-home mom, searches for a way to return to her social-activist roots. Brett’s friend Alex (Steven Zissis), once predestined for greatness in high school, is now overweight, balding and losing touch with his dream of being a successful actor. Michelle’s sister Tina (Amanda Peet) has spent her whole life getting by on her looks, and she now searches for a wealthy man to take care of her while trying to prove she can run a successful business. When Brett and Michelle move in with the struggling couple, the foursome engage in a tragically comedic struggle to follow their personal dreams while still remaining good friends, siblings and spouses to each other.
Guest stars include Peter Gallagher as Larry, a movie producer; John Ortiz as David, a divorced dad campaigning for a charter school; and Mary Steenburgen as Linda, a free spirit who takes an interest in helping Brett come out of his shell.

Togetherness is executive produced by Jay Duplass and Mark Duplass; co-executive produced, by Stephanie Langhoff; with consulting producers Amanda Lasher, Caroline Williams and Steve Zissis, and line producer Carolyn Craddock.
Closing the night of premieres is the original comedy-drama series Looking (23:00 hrs.), which returns for its second season with ten all-new episodes, offering up the unfiltered experiences of three friends – Patrick, Agustín and Dom – living and loving in modern-day San Francisco. Over the course of this season, Patrick (Jonathan Groff, HBO’s The Normal Heart) finds himself getting what he thinks he wants – both professionally and romantically – only to realize it’s not actually what he needs. He and his boss Kevin (Russell Tovey), who is still with his boyfriend, begin a messy affair, while Patrick also tries to figure out if he and Richie (Raúl Castillo) can still be friends. Agustín (Frankie J. Alvarez), struggling after his breakup, decides to leave his art aspirations behind while striking up a friendship with an HIV positive “bear” named Eddie (guest star Daniel Franzese). Dom (Murray Bartlett) continues his dream to open a Portuguese peri peri chicken establishment, but faces many ups and downs in securing financing – and in his relationship with Lynn (guest star Scott Bakula). With naturalism and humor, Looking continues to explore the search for happiness and intimacy in an age of unparalleled choices – and rights – for gay men, with the progressive, sexually open culture of San Francisco serving as a backdrop for the trio’s lives.
