Marc Kreydenweiss transmitted his passion of the wine, terroirs and biodynamical to his children. Antoine Kreydenweiss took over the management of the vineyard in 2007. Accompanied by Charlotte; their daughters Zoe, Lilou and Leonie; the whole team and his horse ; together they show the same passion: create wines with personality and soul. This Riesling village is produced on a local pink sandstone of the , in the continuity of the Grand Cru Wiebelsberg. It’s a fine and elegant wine.

The label for the 2015 vintage was designed by Artist Michel Tolmer

Grape: 100% Riesling

Vineyard & Vinification Note: The winery is located in Andlau, in , between and Colmar, in the area called Piemont des Vosges. Nestled at the bottom of the mountains, the vineyard has the benefice of a continental climate and the soils are based on a mosaic of terroirs. The winery covers 13.5 hectares, including 3 Grand Crus of Andlau: Wiebelsberg, Moenchberg and Kastelberg and the Kirchberg in Barr. The winemaking is from the traditional method, oak barrels (big : foudre) and on the lees. Each year the label is illustrated by a different artist, chosen by the winemaker. By combining the creativity of the artist and the knowledge of the winemaker, each bottle becomes unique.

Cont’d:

The biodynamy is applied since 1989 and is the main part of the activities. The diversity of the soils is an added advantage for the wines. The vineyard is planted 80% on slopes or half-hills, in south-south-east exposition.

The soil composition is complex, with pink sandstone, granite, schist gray/blue or black, sediment, limestone that bring finesse, minerality and freshness to the wines. The vineyard is located in a radius of 10 km around the village of Andlau, but also to the neighbouring villages as , and Barr.

Andlau Riesling: This small production, estate-grown Riesling derive from slopes that are a continuation of Grand Cru land. Grown on pink limestone soil slopes just below the Wiebelsberg Grand Cru. Hand picked fruit, cool fermented with no oak.

Tasting Note: This wine is delicate and floral but with tremendous underlying fruit. Elegant with a nice freshness.

Wine Spectator: A distinctive, medium-bodied white, rich and focused, offering a firm backbone of tangy acidity and flavors of steeped white cherry and mandarin orange peel laced with star anise and Earl Grey tea leaf accents. Well-cut, with a zesty finish. Drink now through 2028. 92 Points - Alison Napjus- May 2018

Wine Advocate: The 2015 Andlau Riesling is sourced from massal selections planted by Marc in 2000 on the sandstone soils on the bottom of the Wiebelsberg. The wine opens with a clear, lemon- fresh and stony nose that still indicates a bit of reduction. (So open the bottle some hours before you like to serve it.) Pure, fresh and crystalline on the palate, with juicy fruit, a lingering salinity and a nice lemon freshness, this is a finessed, but well-structured and pretty complex, Riesling that reflects the great terroir of Andlau as well as the good selection of old genetics. Fine tannins in the finish. Very good intensity and aging potential here as well. The wine was bottled after a long lees-aging in November 2016. Tasted in April 2017. 89+ Points – Stephan Reinhardt, June 2017

Food Pairing: This gastronomic wine suits well meaty fish, mild Curries, shellfish, aromatic and Thai cuisine
