We were sad to lose Bobby from our ranks, but we treasure the many years of The Columbus Jazz Orchestra (CJO) was formed as a vehicle to create performance opportunities for dedicated service and stellar musicianship he brought to the jazz musicians in a big band setting. Bobby Everhart was born in Columbus on May 31, 1945 to a musical family. He has been a featured Americana Brass show band, a take-off of the popular Tijuana Brass band. For six years, soloist at the Hollywood Bowl and performs at jazz festivals throughout the world. He has performed and Bobby traveled with the band across the United States, Mexico, Canada, the British West recorded extensively with the bands of Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Herman, and Lionel Hampton, among Indies, Germany, and Switzerland. In 1972, he left the group to tour with the Holiday on Ice others, as well as the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band and the GRP All-Star Big Band. Show for two years as lead trumpet. Dave has traveled and performed nationally and internationally. Dave is an adjunct faculty member of The Ohio State University School of Music. Considered one of the most successful musicians in the Midwest, Dave manages to win over the hearts of all who hear him perform. From concerts to clubs and restaurants to corporate events and private parties, his vast repertoire is as diverse as the audience that Jazz has played a major role in bringing people together. It’s a language, he entertains. Dave has performed with noted performers such as an expression of ideas, a means of communicating.
