Fifth-generation Caddy Cargo - overview

• Striking new look for Volkswagen’s best-selling compact van. In 2019, nearly 11,000 Caddy models were sold in the UK • Fifth-generation Caddy has been redesigned from the ground up on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform architecture • Caddy introduces a range of new high-end technologies, plus driver assistance systems that further enhance safety and help to make driving easier • Networked infotainment and digitalised control systems allow the Caddy to reach new levels of connectivity • Three trim levels will be available, all offering enhanced specification over the previous generation. Prices start from £17,800 (RRP ex VAT and OTR) • Caddy was first launched in 1978 - first sold in the UK in 1982

Design and practicality • New fifth-generation Caddy will be offered as Caddy Cargo () and a range of passenger car variants • In standard wheelbase form, the new Caddy Cargo measures 4,500 mm in length, an increase of 93 mm over the previous model. The wheelbase has also grown by 73 mm to 2,755 mm • Cargo width is up 57 mm to 1,613 mm while the width between the wheel arches has increased by 60 mm to 1,230 mm. Width of the rear opening aperture has increased by 51 mm to 1,234 mm • A Euro pallet can now be carried sideways in the back of the cargo space. The maximum storage capacity of the Caddy Cargo with standard wheelbase is 3.1 m3 • The new Caddy Cargo Maxi offers even more space (3.7 m3) and has a 215 mm longer wheelbase. The Maxi also features 145mm wider sliding doors • Caddy Cargo Maxi has room for up to two Euro pallets, which can optionally be loaded sideways in the middle and back or sideways in the middle and lengthways in the back • New options include power latching side doors and tailgate, LED headlights and rear lights plus new metallic paint finishes

2 3 Assistance systems • Nineteen assistance systems now available to Caddy Cargo customers – six are completely new for the fifth-generation model • New systems include Travel Assist, which delivers assisted driving across the full speed range. The Caddy Cargo’s redesigned multifunction steering wheel is also equipped with capacitive sensors to prevent false alarms • Volkswagen’s acclaimed Trailer Assist is available for the Caddy for the first time. This advanced system delivers significantly easier reverse manoeuvring operations • In addition to the new technology, the Caddy Cargo’s existing assistance systems have been significantly expanded and updated with new functions • Caddy Cargo’s eSIM means that the vehicle can automatically make eCalls to emergency services in the event of an accident

Engines and powertrain • Three diesel and one petrol engine option are available from UK launch. 2.0 TDI outputs of 75, 102 and 122 PS. 1.5 TSI petrol option develops 114 PS • All engines fulfil the 2021 Euro 6 emissions standards and are all fitted with particulate filters • 1.5 TSI 114 PS petrol engine is equipped with Active Cylinder Technology as standard. This temporarily deactivates two of the four cylinders at light engine loads to save fuel • Both diesel engines are equipped with a new twin dosing system that delivers a double dose of AdBlue. As a result, nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission levels are significantly reduced in comparison to the previous model • All 75 PS Caddy Cargo models will be equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive as standard. 2.0 TDI 122 PS and 1.5 TSI 114 PS offered with the option of a seven-speed DSG. 4MOTION four-wheel drive available with 2.0 TDI 122 PS variants

Cab design • The fifth-generation Caddy features a completely overhauled cabin. The dashboard and controls have been completely redesigned while a new Digital Cockpit is now available as an option • Touchscreen infotainment systems vary between 6.5 and 10 inches in size. Top spec models now feature larger 10-inch Discover Media satellite navigation system • New Caddy is equipped with an integrated eSIM for the first time. The infotainment systems are able to access mobile online services and functions of ‘We Connect’, meaning the new Caddy is ‘always connected’ • New switchgear including electronic handbrake with auto hold function, lighting and audio controls. A new multi-function steering wheel is also standard on all models

4 5 Chassis and dynamics • The Caddy’s new MQB platform delivers more comfortable driving experience • The new front axle features an updated McPherson design with higher steering ratio. As a result, the required steering angle when manoeuvring is noticeably reduced • The rear axle is completely new, incorporating a solid Panhard rod controlled by a trailing arm. Previous leaf spring design has been replaced by a coil spring construction • Compact rear suspension design allows for a wider load width and potential to integrate alternative drive systems • The rear axle has been designed and balanced to deliver increased agility in all load situations while still providing excellent ride comfort • All new Caddy models are fitted with a new range of tyres with optimised rolling resistance

UK specifications • The Caddy Cargo launches in the UK with two wheelbase options – standard and Maxi – and three trim levels (names TBC) • Prices range from £17800 (RRP ex VAT) for the 1.4 TSI 114 PS entry-level model to £26,850 (RRP exc VAT) for the 2.0 TDI 122 PS 4MOTION Maxi version • All models feature touchscreen infotainment systems with the top spec model featuring a larger 10-inch Discover Media satellite navigation system • Multi-function steering wheel, electric windows, height-adjustable driving and electric parking brake with Auto Hold function fitted as standard to all models • Mid-level models (from £19,275 RRP exc VAT) introduce electronically controlled air conditioning system, body coloured bumper and rear parking sensors, along with power- adjustable lumbar support for drivers seat and leather multi-function steering wheel • Range-topping models (from £21,475 RRP exc VAT) add Discover Media satellite navigation, Lights & Vision pack (including auto-dimming rear-view mirror, rain sensors with automatic wipers and intermittent control) and alloy wheels • Fifth-generation Caddy Cargo will open for order in December 2020, with first UK deliveries expected at the end of Q1 2021
