Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Policy and Dress Code

Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School (OLV) requires that all students wear uniforms. Students are to adhere to the OLV dress code at the School and at School functions. This policy is a visible sign of membership in the OLV community. Inside the school, uniform dress is a reminder to students of their equal importance and their common goals. Outside the School, students represent OLV to the public; they represent the School’s name by their attire, the School’s values by their behavior.

Uniform guidelines are outlined on the reverse side of this document. The dress code is based on the School’s standards of decorum, good taste, cleanliness, modesty, neatness, and safety. The Principal will determine when a student's appearance is in violation of the code and may confiscate non-conforming articles. The Principal must approve any exceptions to the code.

Students should dress in “Sunday Best” when attending mass on Fridays. This will consist of a dress shirt and dark tie for boys. Shirts must be tucked in and pants must be worn with a belt. Girls may wear a or with a blouse that is tucked in.

There are several stores in the valley and Anchorage, including Wal-Mart, Sears, and Target that carry the required clothing items. Please make your purchases at these stores only so that we maintain color and style consistency.

For those who wish to purchase uniforms online, or through a catalog, we are enrolled with the following programs. A small percentage of the net purchase will be donated back to our school as a fund raising opportunity: They are as follows:
