THE STORY :

Three years into its five year mission, the USS Enterprise arrives at Starbase Yorktown, a massive space station, for resupply and shore leave for her tired crew. The Enterprise is dispatched on a rescue mission after an escape pod drifts out of a nearby uncharted nebula. The survivor, Kalara, claims her ship is stranded on Altamid, a planet within the nebula. The rescue turns into an ambush when the Enterprise is immediately overwhelmed by a massive swarm of small ships and quickly torn apart. Krall captures and removes many crew members from the ship. As the Enterprise's crippled saucer section hurtles towards the planet, Kirk gives the 'abandon ship' order.

OUR REVIEW :

With Abrams returning as only a producer of the third film, while focusing on directing Star Wars: 'The Force Awakens,' writer Roberto Orci was, at first, set to replace him as director. Finally, Justin Lin was announced as director of the third installment. Written by Doug Jung and Simon Pegg, who stars once more as Scotty, and directed by Justin Lin, 'Star Trek Beyond', apart from a few brief lectures on the relative merits of unity and conflict, unveils a sprightly new heroine named Jaylah (Sofia Boutella).

Sometimes, we are left feeling battered by asteroids and not entirely sure what´s going on. Basically, with the same old cast added by good performances from new comers, the film 'Star Trek Beyond' being already well-received by international critics, will definitely become a blockbuster in France.
