General Characteristics of the District The foundation of Karauli was laid by the Kings of Yaduvanshi comprising Gangapur and Hindaum Nizamats of Karauli and Jaipur States. As per Col. Tod. in the month of April 1949 Karauli was included in Matsaya Union and at the later stage it was included in Jaipur State and was made a part of united state of Rajasthan on 1.3.1997. Karauli was formed a separate distt. comprising of five Tehsils of Sawaimadhopur distt. on 19th July 1997 Karauli was constituted a new district.. 1.1 Location & Geographical Area. The District lies between 26° 3cm - 49° north west latitude and 76° 35' and 77° 26' longitude and 260 mtrs altitutde. It is bounded on west by Dausa, South west by Sawaimadhopu, north east by Dholpur and west north by Bharatpur, Karauli district is at the height of 400 - 600 meters from sea level. The total geographical area of district is 5043 Sq. kms and population is 148459 as per census of 2011. The main river of state chambal separates if from M.P. 1.2 Topography Karauli is famous for its geographical specialities and having full of natural beauty and covered by Vindhyanchal and Aravali mountains. District is having all sorts of plain, high& low and hilly parts. Plains are very fertile and clay is very light in weight and sandy. There are many local rivers in the district Annual rain fall is 668.86 mm. about 35 days in a year. Maximum temperature is 49° celcius in the month of May and 2° celcius in the month of January. 1.3 Availability of Minerals. Sand stone deposits are available in Karauli Distt. about 200 small units are using this resource for cutting & polishing of stones to be used in bulding making. As such no official record is available about quantity fo such deposits in the distt. therefore production may not be reported. 4 1.4 FOREST The forest cover an area of 172459 hectare in 2010-11 which is about 30% of total geographical area of the district 504301 hectares.. As per the records of 2011-12 total 895-2 m.m. rain fall was recorded against 565 mm. average rain fall. 1.5 Administrative set up. Karauli city is the Distt. headquarter of in Karauli district which is devided into 6 Tehsils, 6 sub Division, 223 Panchayats, 881 villages, 5 Panchayat Samiti and 3 Nagarpalika. 2. INITIATIVES OF THE STATE Adarsh and Utkrisht Vidyalaya Yojana: An Adarsh Vidyalaya (KG/Anganwadi-XII) has been developed in each Gram Panchayat as center of excellence. An Utkrisht Vidyalaya (KG/Anganwadi-VIII) has also been developed in each Gram Panchayat under the mentorship of Adarsh school to ensure quality school coverage for other villages in the Gram Panchayat. Panchayat Elementary Education Officer- Principals of Adarsh school have been designated as ex-officio Panchayat Elementary Education Officer (PEEO) to provide leadership and mentorship to all other government elementary schools in the Gram Panchayat. These PEEOs have been designated as Cluster Resource Centre Facilitator (CRCF) for effective monitoring. Integration of Anganwadi centers with schools- Around 38000 Anganwadi centers have been integrated with schools having primary sections for improving pre-primary education under ECCE program of ICDS.

    Analysis of Training Institutions in Rajasthan (ANMTC/DTC/GNMTC) 2011 State Institute of Health & Family Welfare Jaipur SIHFW: An ISO: 9001:2008 certified Institution Executive Summary: The study was undertaken to analyze the status and gaps in existing ANMTC/ DTC and GNMTCs across the state using a structured format that was sent to all CMHOs/ DPMs and Principals/ In-charges of these training schools. On great persuation by SIHFW the Information could be gathered from them. Out of 47 training institutions, 17 are ANMTCs, 15 are DTCs and 15 are GNMTCs. Out of total 47 training institutions, 20 ANMTCs/DTCs/ GNMTCs do not have recognition from Indian Nursing of Council. Only 16 ANMTCs/DTCs (50%) have recognition from Indian Nursing of Council while 9 (60%) of the GNMTCs has recognition from INC. Majority (42.5%) of ANMTCs/ DTCs are space crunched with only 2 class rooms as against the norm of 4. Classroom for trainings exists in 44 (94%) training institutions. Only 15.6 % of ANMTCs/DTCs have a functional LCD projector and 12.5% ANMTCs/DTCs have Laptop/Desktop, DVD and Television facility. 87.4% ANMTCs/DTCs and 80% of GNMTCs do not have mandatory transport facility. 84.4% ANMTCs/DTCs and 80% of the GNMTCs do not have any transportation. Of the 27 ANMTCs/DTCs which do not have transport, 40.74% are located within the hospital campus. 80% GNMTCS are located within the hospital premise. Of the 9 GNMTCs located within the hospital campus do not have the transport facility. 57.4% of ANMTCs/ DTCs have only 2 Nursing Tutor/ PHN (against the requirement of 11 nursing tutor).

    INDIA METEOROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT (MINISTRY OF EARTH SCIENCES) SOUTHWEST MONSOON -2017 END OF SEASON REPORT RAJASTHAN HIGHLIGHTS The rainfall over the country as a whole during the monsoon season (June – September) was 95% of its long period average (LPA). Seasonal rainfall over Northwest India and Rajasthan were 90% and 109% of their respective LPA. Seasonal rainfall was 92% of its LPA over East Rajasthan and 139% of its LPA over West Rajasthan. Monthly rainfall over the state was 192% of LPA in June, 161% of LPA in July, 66% of LPA in August and 48% of LPA in September. Out of 33 districts, 4 districts received largely excess rainfall; 6 districts received excess rainfall; 9 districts received normal rainfall and 14 district received deficient rainfall during the season. On a micro level, out of 245 tehsils, 32 tehsils received largely excess rainfall; 23 tehsils received excess rainfall; 73 tehsils received normal rainfall; 104 tehsils received deficient rainfall and 11 tehsils received largely deficient rainfall during the season. Southwest monsoon reached parts of southeast Bay of Bengal, south Andaman Sea and Nicobar Islands on 14th May (6 days ahead of its normal date). It advanced over Kerala on 30th May (2 days ahead of the normal schedule) and covered the entire country by 19th July (4 days later than the normal date). Monsoon withdrawal commenced from West Rajasthan on 15th September with a delay of nearly 3 weeks. It completely withdrew from Rajasthan on 11th October, 2017. 1 1. Onset and Advance of southwest Monsoon With the formation of a cyclonic circulation over Andaman Sea, southwesterlies crossing the equator strengthened and deepened leading to persistent cloudiness and rainfall over the region.
