Dehradun, 20 October, 2011. Chief Minister Major General (Retd.) Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri inaugurated the newly constructed office building of the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) situated near ISBT on Saharanpur Road here, on Thursday. The office complex with a built up area of 1618 sq m, has all the amenities, and has been constructed at a total cost of about Rs. 11 crores. In his address on the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Khanduri said that Dehradun has a rich and glorious ancient history and tradition. The city which houses several world class educational and research institutions is known throughout the world for its beauty and grandeur. He said that in view of the rising population, the role and responsibility of the MDDA assumes greater significance in order to bring about an orderly and planned development here. The Chief Minister said that MDDA’s employees should work by showing greater sensitivity to the people’s problems. On the occasion, he also laid emphasis on making the single window system more effective so that the general public is not put to any inconvenience. Chief Minister Shri Khanduri said that as much as the MDDA employees, the citizens too have an equally important role to play in maintaining the natural form and beauty of the city. Praising the magnificence of the newly building and its ambience, the Chief Minister said that he expected the employees to show similar spirit in terms of work culture too. Those who were present on the occasion include Sports Minister Khajan Das, MLA Ganesh Joshi, MLA Dinesh Agarwal, Advisor Tourism Development Board Prakash Suman Dhayani, Chairman of State Housing Development Board Naresh Bansal, Umesh Agarwal, Commissioner Garhwal Division Ajay Nabiyal, Vice chairman of MDDA BVRC Purushottam, and eminent guests, among others.

Dehradun, 20 October, 2011. Chief Minister Major General (Retd.) Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri listened to problems and grievances of the people at ‘Janata Milan’, organized at the new Chief Minister’s residence on Cantt. Road here, on Thursday, and gave necessary directions to the officials for their resolution. On the occasion, he said that mostly the problems pertain to the district-level and their resolution should therefore be done by the Distinct Magistrate. He said that he has already issued directives to the District Magistrate in this regard. At the putting up of departmental problems by few engineers of the Irrigation Department, the Chief Minister directed that these should be resolved at the department level itself, and said that only problems and grievances related to the general public are to be resolved at the ‘Janata Milan’ programme. Dr. Vinod Bahuguna, retired deputy director leveled accusation of misuse of power against the Director, Department of Ayurveda, at which the Chief Minister ordered conducting of a vigilance inquiry on the matter. The Managing Director of Uttarakhand Power Corporation was directed to initiate necessary action on the demand for electrification in Village Jhundago in Naini Danda development block of Pauri District. Financial assistance was also approved to an applicant for his daughter’s marriage. On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Khanduri examined representations pertaining to problems and grievances submitted by the people and directed the officials concerned to initiate necessary action on the issues.
