Report: This report is of the LJC Public meeting held at the SpArC Centre Bishops Castle on July 12th. The main Presentation was on the future of Health Care in . The future Fit programme is currently holding a public consultation period which ends on September 4th. The Clinical Commissioning Group has made its recommendation (option1) that the Accident and Emergency is retained at along with maternity, and the planned care is all done at . Their second-choice option is the other way around. There were lots of difficult questions mainly from members of the public most of which were answered. The events planned for public consultation seemed to all be in other parts of the county. The LJC is pushing to get an event in Bishops Castle and or . Any interested members of the public are urged to get involved with this consultation. The South West Shropshire Grant Scheme has a fund of £1173 and awarded 3 grants Life on the Edge project Bishops Castle £75 Osteoporosis Event Bishops Castle £100 Fight the Plastic Bishops Castle £140 The LJC has £4000 of funding for youth activities to be spent before March 31st, 2019, currently no applications have been made for grants. The committee is keen to find ways of spending this money effectively. The hot Topic for the next Public meeting was Highway maintenance, or lack of it, I offered Llanfair Waterdine to host this meeting during the coming autumn and will report if this is successful .
