Not only did we have a blast cheering all the River Runners on, See you on the roads. but between cow-belling and screaming, I started watching and appreciating each of the faces Your running friend, staring back at me. What an amazing experience! Beyond that, did anyone see the guys in the full firefighting gear (air tank included)? I am still getting goose-bumps at the thought of those men enduring that weight for 15K and they were quick! Watching these guys makes me think twice before complaining about the weight of a stability shoe. By the time we hit the “middle packers”, an observation had been made in my mind: this awesome event brings together all ages, ambitions, ability-levels, and backgrounds.

For cow-belling and yelling assistance, the Navy sent four people up to the task. These four were Navy recruits that came together 3-6 weeks before boot camp, did not know each other from Joe (no pun here), but the River Run brought them together. By the time we were finished
