ARK JASPER NATIONAL P SHORT RIDES HALF DAY PYRAMID LAKE (MAP A) - Take the beautiful ride THE FALLS LOOP (MAP A) - Head south on the ROAD BIKING to Pyramid Lake with stunning views of Pyramid famous Icefields Parkway. Take a right onto the Mountain at the top. Distance: 14 km return. 93A and head for Athabasca Falls. Loop back north GUIDE Elevation gain: 100 m. onto Highway 93 and enjoy the views back home. Distance: 63 km return. Elevation gain: 210 m. WHISTLERS ROAD (MAP A) - Work up a sweat with a short but swift 8 km climb up to the base MARMOT ROAD (MAP A) - Head south on the of the Jasper Skytram. Go for a ride up the tram famous Icefields Parkway, take a right onto 93A and or just turn back and go for a quick rip down to head uphill until you reach the Marmot Road. Take a town. Distance: 16.5 km return. right up this road to the base of the ski hill then turn Elevation gain: 210 m. back and enjoy the cruise home. Distance: 38 km. Elevation gain: 603 m. FULL DAY MALIGNE ROAD (MAP A) - From town, head east on Highway 16 for the Moberly Bridge, then follow the signs for Maligne Lake Road. Gear down and get ready to roll 32 km to spectacular Maligne Lake. Once at the top, take in the view and prepare to turn back and rip home.

    Service Summary FALL 2019 CHANGES Effective September 3, 2019 This document outlines the upcoming fall 2019 schedule changes for the South Okanagan- Similkameen Transit System for implementation on September 3, 2019. Fall changes include an expansion of 1,800 annual service hours and two buses. Changes include the addition of a new route: 70 Penticton/Kelowna o Two round trips at commuter times every weekday o Two midday round trips on Mondays to improve connections to other areas within the South Okanagan-Similkameen Region o Fares are $5 per trip and monthly passes are available o Replaces the existing route 60 Kelowna The following route is discontinued: 60 Osoyoos/Kelowna o Replaced by the new route 70 Penticton/Kelowna and additional Monday service on the route 40 Osoyoos/Penticton. You have asked me to make recommendations, with supporting rationale, on the completion and implementation of a Grizzly Bear recovery Plan based on a review of: (1) the draft Grizzly Bear Recovery Plan for the North Cascades of British Columbia(January 19, 2001) (Draft recovery plan) (2) the Input received during the Public Consultation Period (Public Input), (3) the Proposed responses to this input from the North Cascades Grizzly Bear Recovery Team (Team Responses), and, (4) Any additional technical/scientific input. In addition to this, for the first eight meetings we had the privilege of a resource person from the recovery team to guide us through the above. You have to appreciate that the taskforce represents a wide range of stakeholder interests. Even with a two-month extension, aside from general agreement that there should be a conservation strategy for the grizzly bear your expectation of a consensus on recommendations for completion and implementation of the recovery plan is overly optimistic. Now, because of the timeframe for submitting (Dec. 15) and finding that we have exceeded our budget, I am breaking away from trying to reach consensus recommendations; keeping to the Terms of Reference re: Decision-making. I was nominated by Dave Chutter MLA (Yale-Lillooet) to represent local residents on the North Cascades Grizzly Bear Taskforce.
