Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Janet Scotland Invites Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore to Participate in the Conference of Commonwealth Sports Ministers DECEMBER 14TH, 2017 CURRENT AFFAIRS Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Janet Scotland invites Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore to participate in the Conference of Commonwealth Sports Ministers Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Janet Scotland today met the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports (Independent Charge) Col Rajyavardhan Rathore. SPORTS NEWS ● Colonel Rathore proposed the idea of Commonwealth Youth Festival with Commonwealth Games. ● The proposed youth festival can be a platform for enhancing the youth in the informal environment among Commonwealth countries, which is often lost in the highly competitive environment of the Games. ● Colonel Rathore said that organizing Commonwealth Youth Festival with Commonwealth Games could increase the capacity of the game to deliver positive message. ● The Youth Affairs and Sports Minister apprised the General Secretary of the concept of Play India Plan and upcoming Play India School Games. ● He also gave information about the success of the Games in separating youth from militancy. ● Colonel Rathore illustrated the popularity of football in the Kashmir Valley. ● The two leaders agreed to develop the virtual community of players from the players and Commonwealth countries where free exchange of ideas can strengthen the relationship between players and future leaders. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi to inaugurate a two-day National Workshop organized to strengthen the action against female violence NATIONAL NEWS Central Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, in New Delhi, in the presence of Dr. Virendra Kumar, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, in New Delhi, a two-day national workshop organized on the role of Sakhi One Stop Center in strengthening multi-sectoral action against women violence. Will inaugurate. ● This workshop has been inaugurated by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. www.toprankers.com Page 1 of 6 https://www.facebook.com/TopRankersPage/ DECEMBER 14TH, 2017 CURRENT AFFAIRS ● In this two-day workshop, officials of about 400 Sakhi One Stop Centers and 33 States and Union Territories of the country will participate in the Nodal Officers of State and Women and Child Development Department. ● The initiative for the officers of the One Stop Center in the category of Central Administrators and Consultants and the concerned officers is to understand the measures to strengthen multi-sectoral action related to dealing with violence against women through the one-stop centers across the country, discussing them. ● It is related to doing and discussing. ● The Ministry has approved the plan to set up One Stop Center (OSC) to help women affected by violence on March 4, 2015. ● Implementation of the scheme, popularly known as Sakhi, is being done on April 1, 2015. ● The aim of this scheme is to provide integrated support including medical assistance, police assistance, legal help / case management, psychological counseling and providing temporary support services to women affected by violence. India and Morocco signed agreements for cooperation in water resources, roads and marine sectors. ONAL RELATION NEWS ● On behalf of India, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri J. P. Nadda and Health Minister of Morocco, Dr. Abdul Kadir Amara signed the memorandum. ● On this occasion, a high level delegation of Morocco, including top officials of the Central Health Ministry, was present. ● Mr. JP Nadda said that there are strong and rich traditional relations between the two countries. ● He mentioned India's best generic medicines and said that India is exporting these medicines to more than 200 countries and we have a strong public health system here. ● This system is monitored through the National Health Mission. ● Shri Nadda said that between the two countries, the two countries will be able to increase mutual cooperation within the framework of the MoU and co-operate in the health sector. President presented National Energy Conservation Award and National Painting Competition Award for 2017 President Shri Ram Nath Kovind attended the National Energy Conservation Day celebration here today as the AWARDS Chief Guest. The cumulative television audience for the 64 matches was nearly 40 billion - the biggest ever audience for a single event. French political and economic decision makers were very aware, as will be seen, that for a month the eyes of the world were on France. On the night of July 12th, whether in Paris and other cities or in smaller communities all over France, there was an outpouring of joy and sentiment that was unprecedented - at least, most people agreed, since the Liberation of 1944. Huge numbers of people watched the final, whether at home on TV or in bars or in front of one of the giant screens erected in many large towns, and then poured onto the streets in spontaneous and good-humoured celebration. In Paris, hundreds of thousands gathered again on the Champs Elysées the next day to see the Cup paraded in an open-topped bus. For all, the victory was an unforgettable experience. An element that was commented on by many was the appropriation by the crowds of the red, white and blue national colours: manufacturers of the French national flag had never known such demand since the death of General de Gaulle.
