Iron Arrow Honor Society Reconnecting with Our Roots Reflections from the Officers It’s a new day for Iron Arrow! As you plan to come back for Homecoming in the Fall and see the changes to our campus, get excited for the changes that have come to the Tribe. Our new members on tapping day will be identified with authentic Miccosukee beaded necklaces, bringing us closer to our cultural roots. We hope that while you are reconnecting with Tribe members you already know, that you will take the time to connect with the newest members as we continue expanding this ever growing community of global leaders.

We are rooted in advancing the welfare of our Alma Mater. While giving back is one way to contribute, recognizing those students, faculty, staff, or alumni who are living our criteria is also an impactful action. As Iron Arrows representing 2% of the entire University of Miami community, we know how important it is to recognize hard work and how valuable appreciation can be for a fellow ’Cane. It is through our constant tribal involvement that we can be the best stewards possible to both our Alma Mater and the Miccosukee.

Our Tribe is most identifiable by our Miccosukee jackets. This year, we reaffirm our bond to the people who brought us the rich tradition that makes us so unique. In the Fall, we will take the first step to strengthening our timeless bond, acknowledging, praising, and practicing the traditions and culture of the Miccosukee. From where we come to where we are going, we must always remember our roots.
