BIFFA PROFIT SHARING SCHEME

PURPOSE OF REPORT:

To receive information on how Ward Members have allocated their share of the Biffa Profit Sharing scheme funds since May 2007.

INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

1.0 In May 2007 under delegated powers authorisation of the approvals for the allocation of funds within the Biffa Profit Sharing scheme has been passed to the Director of Finance. Previously it had been necessary to report to Cabinet all such approvals received from the Ward Members.

2.0. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS

2.1. There are no financial implications for the Authority with these schemes.

3.0 RECOMMENDATIONS

3.1 I recommend that Cabinet:-

(i) Receives and notes this report;

(ii) Receives 6 monthly information reports on Biffa spending;

(iii) Encourages all Members to maximise the use of Biffa funds wherever possible by seeking to use the funding as a match funder.
