 52,000 person years of direct, on site and off site, construction employment  10,960 person years of work in engineering design work for Alberta based engineering firms  $440 million per year in provincial corporate income taxes  $780 million per year in federal corporate income taxes  1,000 permanent jobs in operations  Additional 3,000 jobs in supply, services and maintenance contracts.

Recent reports have demonstrated that the potential petrochemical industry that could be developed based on upgrader by-products and co-products would result in a GDP boast to the Alberta Economy of $25 billion per year.

Our share of materials processed in the province will fall to 40% by 2020, should this trend continue.

Upgrading bitumen to higher-value, synthetic crude increases the value of our resources. While the price of raw bitumen fluctuates, upgrading alone will increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) value of our resource by 25% to 40%.
