Our share of materials processed in the province will fall to 40% by 2020, should this trend continue. Upgrading bitumen to higher-value, synthetic crude increases the value of our resources. While the price of raw bitumen fluctuates, upgrading alone will increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) value of our resource by 25% to 40%..
