DESCRIPTION The broadly rectangular site extends to 0.27 acres (0.109 hectares). The property was originally constructed in circa 1970 as a main post office and sorting depot, with a brick cladding and frame structure. The site is on a gradient and the Post Office was located at ground floor level beneath the Sorting Office. The Sorting Office occupied both part ground and first floor level across the site. The building has been vacant since January 2019 when the post office vacated the premises. The surrounding area although predominantly residential is adjacent to Abbey Wood local centre which offers a parade of shops concentrated along Wilton Road, to the north east of the site. To the south of the site is a local vicarage, to the south east is Abbey wood community Image of existing building from Conference Road looking east centre and to the west of the site is Folkrite Congregational Church.
