SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN TEXAS Update: 11/6/2012

KERRVILLE BUS COMPANY is no longer a separate scheduled intercity carrier. Their former routes are now basically served by Concho Lines, , Jefferson Lines, and as follows:

CONCHO COACH LINES – Now operates the former (modified) San Angelo-Sterling City-Garden City-Midland Kerrville route. Greyhound interlines over Concho Coach Lines to and from San Angelo only.

GREYHOUND LINES – Now operates these former Kerrville routes: Texarkana-Marshall-Longview-Kilgore-Henderson-Nacogdoches-Lufkin-Livingston- -Kerrville-Junction-Fort Stockton-El Paso

JEFFERSON LINES – Now operates the former Ft Smith-Mena-DeQueen-Lockesburg-Texarkana Kerrville route.

MEGABUS – Now operates these former Kerrville routes with a few modifications and extensions. (Megabus does not interline these routes with anyone, including other Megabus routes): Texarkana-Shreveport-Carthage-Nacogdoches-Lufkin-Livingston-Humble-Houston Houston-LaGrange-Austin Houston-Prairie View-Brenham-Giddings-Austin Houston-LaMarque-Galveston San Antonio-Fort Stockton-El Paso San Antonio-San Angelo-Big Spring-Lubbock San Antonio-Uvalde-Eagle Pass-Del Rio -Big Spring-Midland-El Paso

A significant number of former Kerrville stops were eliminated and are now no longer served by anyone. They are as follows:

TEXAS – Bastrop, Blanket, Boerne, Brady, Brownwood, Castroville, Center, Center Point, Christoval, , Comanche, Comfort, Corrigan, Cross Timbers, Dallas West, D Hanis, Dublin, Eden, Eldorado, Elgin, Fredericksburg, Legion Veterans Hospital, Loma Alta, Mason, Miles, Ozona, Proctor, Rowena, Sabinal, San Antonio West, Santa Anna, Sonora, Stephenville.

LOUISIANA – Logansport, Mansfield

ARKANSAS – Ashdown

NOTE: The above stops are still listed in the Greyhound website, but show as” service not available” when ticketing is attempted to or from any of them. A call to Greyhound ticketing yielded the same result.

The following stops eliminated by Megabus along former Kerrville routes are still served by other carriers. They are all in Texas and are as follows:

Ballinger – still served by Concho Coach Lines Fort Worth – still served by Greyhound, Tornado, and Amtrak Katy – still served by Greyhound Sealy – still served by Tornado Tyler – still served by Greyhound and Tornado

LAKEFRONT LINES retains only the southern Ohio “Go Bus” routes between Athens and , Columbus, Marietta, and Parkersburg, WV. Their other former routes are now basically served by Baron’s Bus Lines, Greyhound Lines, Miller Trailways, and Megabus as follows:

BARON’S BUS LINES – A new carrier now operates the following former Lakefront Lines routes: Cleveland-Akron-Canton-New -Cambridge-Marietta-Parkersburg, WV-Ripley, WV-Charleston, WV Cleveland-Akron-Columbus , IL-Gary-South Bend-Elkhart-Angola-Fort Wayne-Lima-Kenton-Columbus

GREYHOUND LINES – Now operates this former Lakefront Lines route: Cleveland-West Salem-Mansfield-Columbus

MILLER TRAILWAYS and MEGABUS – Now operate the following former Lakefront Lines routes. Chicago, IL-Gary-South Bend-Elkhart-Angola-Fort Wayne-Van Wert-Lima-Kenton-Columbus Chicago, IL-Gary-Valparaiso-Plymouth-Warsaw-Columbia City-Fort Wayne-Muncie-Richmond- Dayton Trotwood-Columbus

MEGABUS – Now operates this former Lakefront Lines route: Buffalo, NY-Columbus

A few former Lakefront Lines stops were eliminated and are now no longer served by anyone. They are as follows:

OHIO – Apple Creek, Conneaut, Mount Eaton, Wooster

NEW YORK – Westfield

The following eliminated Lakefront Lines stops are still served by other carriers. They are all as follows:

Erie, PA – still served by Greyhound and Amtrak Fairfield – still served by Tornado

Because of eliminated stops’ proximity to other existing stops, no communities were added to the AIBRA website isolated map and list.

WEST ALABAMA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION – Operates the following scheduled intercity routes in Alabama:

Montgomery – Selma (Operates three times daily. Already in the AIBRA website.) Tuscaloosa – Eutaw – Demopolis (Operates three times a week. Already in the AIBRA website.) Livingston – York – Butler – Meridian, MS (Operates twice weekly. Added to the AIBRA website.) Selma – Uniontown (Operates twice weekly. Added to the AIBRA website.)

These schedules can be ticketed directly through the GREYHOUND website, so the carrier code for the above stations are listed as GLI in the AIBRA website.

GREYHOUND – Has eliminated the following stops:

New Albany, MS on the Birmingham – Memphis route Alvin, TX on the Houston – Corpus Christi route (operated by subsidiary VALLEY TRANSIT).

Because of their proximity to other existing stops, they were not added to the AIBRA website isolated map and list.

The following GREYHOUND route in Texas has been added to the AIBRA website and was left out due to an oversight:

Lubbock – Levelland – Brownfield – Seminole – Odessa

The following GREYHOUND route in Georgia and shown in the AIBRA website as follows:

Atlanta – Macon – Cordelle – Tifton – Valdosta – Lake City – Jacksonville

Has been modified to reflect its actual route as follows:

The following carriers have new service or stops:

C & J LINES – has a new express route: Portsmouth, NH – New York City

BOLT BUS COMPANY – has added Bellingham, WA to their Pacific Northwest express schedule. They have also added Baltimore, Philadelphia, and the Long Island communities of Melville, Riverhead and Ronkokoma to their Northeast express schedule.

Changes in scheduled intercity ground transportation to airports are noted below:

BISON EXPRESS – going between Yuma, the Foothills, Wellton and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport has now become 1st CLASS SHUTTLE with a new website. The intermediate scheduled stops of Dateland and Gila Bend have been eliminated.

EPPLEY EXPRESS – going between Kearney, Grand Island, York, Lincoln and Omaha Eppley Field has now become NAVIGATOR EXPRESS with a new website. No noteworthy changes in scheduled stops were made.

EXPRESS AIR COACH –has added express service between Champaign, IL and Chicago O Hare International Airport.

FAUST TRANSPORTATION –has ceased their scheduled shuttle service between Santa Fe, Espanola, Taos and the Albuquerque International Sunport. As a consequence, the City of Taos, NM has been added to the AIBRA website unserved map and list.

GROOME TRANSPORTATION –has absorbed the EZ RIDE AUGUSTA schedule between Augusta and Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport with any intermediate scheduled stops eliminated. They have additionally extended service between the Alabama communities of Auburn, Opelika and Valley and the Atlanta airport.

OMA SIOUX EXPRESS –provides scheduled service between Sioux City, IA and Omaha Eppley Field.

USA EXPRESS –has added express service between Jefferson City, MO and St Louis Lambert Field.

Two miscellaneous additional changes in service noted:

GREYHOUND – on their direct schedule between Memphis and Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, AL has been eliminated as an intermediate stop. All buses now make only one intermediate stop at Tupelo, MS.

GREYHOUND – no longer operates between Billings and Missoula in Montana and now serves just two stations in Montana directly, Missoula and St Regis. RIMROCK still serves between Billings and Missoula.

MEGABUS has dropped all the former Kerrville Bus Company routes they had except for Houston-Prairie View-Brenham-San Antonio. As a consequence of this new service, the Missouri communities of Houston and Moberly have been removed from the AIBRA isolated map and list.

HORSE RUN TOUR – has added a terminal stop in Baltimore

ORIENTAL PEARL – has added an intermediate stop at Lumberton, NC

XINNIX – currently serves only the following route: Albany – New York City Wilmington, DE – Baltimore

MINGAN – has discontinued all scheduled service. All their numerous stops are well served by other carriers with one noteable exception. Harrisonburg, VA is now unserved, but is within 25 miles of Staunton, which is served by Amtrak’s .

KINGS WORLD – appears to have discontinued all scheduled service. All their numerous stops are well served by other carriers with two noteable exceptions. Commerce, GA is no longer served by anyone, but is within 25 miles of Athens (served by Southeastern Stages and Megabus) and Lavonia, GA, also no longer served by anyone, is within 25 miles of Toccoa (served by Amtrak’s Crescent Limited).

NOTE: Online ticketing for East Coast “Chinatown” carriers is usually limited to a to or from New York City option.

Additional miscellaneous changes in service:

GREYHOUND – has discontinued their Emporia, VA stop.

RIMROCK TRAILWAYS – has discontinued all scheduled service. Their comprehensive route system in Montana and North Dakota is currently suspended pending a new operator.

JEFFERSON LINES – Now operates the following scheduled intercity route through Montana and North Dakota in order to maintain connections with GREYHOUND at Missoula, and SALT LAKE EXPRESS at Butte since RIMROCK TRAILWAYS suspended all scheduled service:

Fargo – Valley City – Jamestown –Minot – Stanley – Williston – Sidney – Glendive – Miles City- Billings – Livingston – Bozeman – Butte – Missoula

NORTH DAKOTA SHUTTLE – Has been added to the AIBRA website as a scheduled service provider because they operate two routes in North Dakota that meet the criteria:

Williston – Watford City – Dickinson Williston – Tioga – Stanley – Minot

WHISTLER TRANSPORTATION – Has been added to the AIBRA website as a scheduled service provider because their Grand Forks – Winnipeg, MAN route meets the criteria:

NEW TOWN BUS COMPANY – Has ceased their New Town – Washburn – Bismarck route in North Dakota and now only have the New Town – Minot route. As a consequence Washburn is no longer served by anyone. Bismarck is still served by JEFFERSON LINES.

The following former RIMROCK TRAILWAYS stops are still served by other carriers:

Montana: Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Glendive, Great Falls, Livingston, Miles City, Missoula, Whitefish

North Dakota: Bismarck, Dickinson, Fargo, Jamestown, Valley City

All stops that were shown as being served by RIMROCK TRAILWAYS exclusively will remain in the AIBRA website with a note that service is suspended to them pending determination of what the States of Montana and North Dakota will do to address the abovementioned suspension of service.

LAFAYETTE LIMO – Has been added to the airport portion of the AIBRA website because they provide a scheduled shuttle service in Indiana between International Airport and Lafayette.

STAR OF AMERICA – Has been added to the airport portion of the AIBRA website because they provide two scheduled shuttle services in Indiana, one between Indianapolis International Airport and Lafayette, and the other between Indianapolis International Airport and Bloomington.

AMTRAK’s – Texas Eagle route now includes a stop at Hope, AR.

JEFFERSON LINES – Is starting the following new route in Minnesota:

Duluth – Virginia – Hibbing – Grand Rapids

The Community of Hibbing had gone decades without , somewhat of an irony considering it was the birthplace of GREYHOUND LINES. As a consequence of the above new route, Grand Rapids, MN has been removed from the AIBRA isolated map and list.

GREYHOUND LINES – No longer serves High Point, NC. High Point is still served by AMTRAK and TORNADO.

MO-X SHUTTLE – Has been added to the AIBRA website as a scheduled service provider because they operate two airport shuttle routes in Missouri that meet the website criteria. The routes are as follows:

Columbia – Kingdom City – St Louis Lambert Field Columbia – Booneville – Kansas City International Airport

As a consequence of this service, the community of Mexico, MO has been removed from the AIBRA isolated list and map.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION SHUTTLE – Has been added to the AIBRA website as a scheduled service provider because they operate one airport shuttle route in Kansas that meet the website criteria. The route is as follows:

Lawrence – Kansas City International Airport

SUPER SHUTTLE – Has added Estes Park to their scheduled service in Colorado and eliminated Cheyenne, WY. Cheyenne is still served by DENVER COACH SHUTTLE and BLACK HILLS STAGE LINES.

JEFFERSON LINES – Has eliminated service to Kansas City International Airport. They have also discontinued their stops in Independence, KS and Jamestown, ND. Neither one of these two communities are served by anyone else.

JEFFERSON LINES – Has modified their two schedules going westward from Fargo, ND towards Montana to go as follows:

BLUE EARTH – Has been added to the AIBRA website as a scheduled service provider because they operate a route in North Dakota that meets the website criteria as follows:

Carrier has no website. Local ticketing is not available online. Interline ticketing available on the Greyhound website only.

SALT LAKE EXPRESS – Is now operating the following two former RIMROCK TRAILWAYS routes in Montana:

Great Falls – Ulm Jct. – Cascade – Craig Jct. – Wolf Creek – Helena – Boulder – Basin – Butte

Billings – Laurel – Columbus – Big Timber – Livingston – Bozeman – Belgrade – – Three Forks – Townsend – Helena – Drummond – Missoula

Local ticketing is not available online. Interline ticketing available on the Greyhound website only.

All currently unserved former RIMROCK TRAILWAYS routes will remain in the AIBRA website with a note that service is suspended pending action by the States of Montana and North Dakota.

The AIBRA website has been updated to reflect the above changes. ADDED SERVICES IN NEW YORK AND Update: 11/21/2012

BIRNIE TRAILWAYS – runs a substantial commuter network in the Utica, NY area. Their Tuesday and Thursday only Utica-Holland Patent-Barneveld-Remsen-Alder Creek-Boonville-Port Leyden-Lowville route was added because it goes a significant distance and provides a link between an otherwise isolated area and a well served urban area.

MYERS TRAILWAYS – has a commuter line that operates Monday through Friday except Holidays basically along Route 8 northward from . Their Pittsburgh-Etna-Glenshaw-Allison Park-Mount Royal-Wildwood-Orchard Park- Bakerstown-Cooperstown-Plainview-Butler-Unionville-Stone House-Slippery Rock-Grove City route was added because it goes a significant distance and provides a link between an otherwise isolated area and a well served urban area. NEW MIDWEST and DISCONTINUED OKLA. SERVICES Update: 7/19/2013

BARON’S BUS LINES – Has added two new routes to their scheduled service. They are as follows:

Buffalo – Fredonia, NY – Erie, PA – Meadville, PA – Youngstown – Ravenna, OH – Akron – Wooster, OH – Mansfield, OH – Columbus – Cincinnati

Cincinnati – Oxford, OH – Richmond, IN – Greenfield, IN – Indianapolis – Marion, IN – Fort Wayne, IN – Napoleon, OH – Bowling Green, OH – Toledo – Lincoln Park, MI –

The following stops were previously unserved: Wooster, Ravenna, Napoleon, Oxford and Bowling Green in Ohio and Greenfield, Indiana. The other stops are already served by other carriers.

GREYHOUND LINES – Has discontinued their Marion, IN stop. Marion is still served by Baron’s Bus Lines.

JEFFERSON LINES – Has discontinued the following route in Southwestern Missouri and Northeastern Oklahoma: Joplin – Miami – Vinita – Big Cabin – Adair – Pryor – Claremore – Tulsa Airport – Tulsa

With the exception of Joplin and Tulsa, these communities are no longer served by anyone.

As a consequence of the above eliminated stops, the Oklahoma community of Pryor has been added to the AIBRA website isolated map and list. Note: Tulsa International Airport also no longer has scheduled intercity bus service and has been removed from the AIBRA airport map and list.

I finally went through the East Coast “Chinatown” express carrier list and have come up with the following changes:

TIGER TRAVEL – Norfolk, VA and Salisbury, MD added.

They serve many communites in California, Oregon and Washington no one else does including the following:

FUTURA NET TRAVEL has discontinued AIBRA defined scheduled service and is no longer listed in the AIBRA website. They basically operated between the Los Angeles area and Las Vegas. Affected communities include Las Vegas, NV and Buena Park, East Los Angeles, Huntington Park, Lake Forest, Los Angeles, Orange, San Fernando, and Studio Park in California. All communities are in urbanized metropolitan areas comprehensively served by transit and other carriers.

TUFESA – Extended their Nogales – Tucson – Phoenix – Kingman – Las Vegas bus to Salt Lake City to maintain the scheduled service between St George, UT and Salt Lake City that was dropped by UTAH TRAILWAYS. The only change they made in the UTAH TRAILWAYS stops was adding Payson and dropping Nephi in Utah. Ephraim, UT has been added to the AIBRA isolated community map and list as a consequence. UTAH TRAILWAYS has discontinued all AIBRA defined scheduled service and is no longer listed in the AIBRA website.

They also have extended service from the San Bernardino area through Barstow, Fresno, Merced, and Gilroy to San Jose in California.

They serve a number of communities in Utah, Nevada and Arizona that are served by no one else including the following: Wickenburg, AZ; Mesquite, NV; Beaver, Fillmore, and Payson in Utah

Because of their service expansions into numerous rural communities, TUFESA will no longer be listed as a Category 5 Express Carrier, but instead as a Category 4 Scheduled Carrier in the AIBRA website. In addition to their previously listed website and contact number, they also ticket through the www.gotobus.com website.

US ASIA – An express carrier that now fundamentally operates between the Los Angeles Area, the Bay Area, and Sacramento Has discontinued service to Reno, NV; and Hacienda Heights and Richmond in California. The affected communities are all in well-served, urbanized areas.

With the exception of the maps, the AIBRA website information has been updated to reflect the above changes. The maps will be brought current following a companion update for service in Minnesota, Montana and North Dakota. MIDWEST AND NORTH PLAINS SERVICE UPDATES Update: 8/21/2013

Many updates including the following:

SALT LAKE EXPRESS – Has dropped Great Falls – Ulm Jct – Cascade – Wolf Creek – Helena – Boulder – Basin – Butte in Montana. All stops except for Great Falls and Butte are currently unserved, but the unserved stops will be shown as “service suspended” in the AIBRA website for now.

BLACK HILLS STAGE LINES – Has also dropped Laurel, MT as a stop.

JEFFERSON LINES – Has modified the Fargo – Grand Forks – Crookston – Erskine – Fosston – Bagley – Bemidji – Cass Lake – Walker – Wadena –Staples – Brainerd schedule in Minnesota and North Dakota to operate as follows:

Pineville and Peculiar in Southwestern Missouri, Onawa in Western Iowa, and Morrilton in Central Arkansas have been dropped as stops and are no longer served by anyone. Previously unserved Neosho, MO has been added as a stop.

Beaumont, Rosamond – These former Thruways stops are within 15 miles of other existing Thruways stops.

Thousand Palms – This former Thruways stop has been replaced with a new stop in adjacent Palm Desert.

LA SWIFT – their scheduled service in Louisiana has been suspended affecting the following communities:

MEGABUS – has added Baton Rouge, LA as a stop on their New Orleans – Houston schedule; and Burbank, CA on their Oakland – – San Jose – Los Angeles schedule.

MEGABUS – has discontinued their Saint Louis – Oklahoma – Dallas schedule affecting the following communities in Oklahoma:

CAPITAL TRAILWAYS is now listed as both a Category 1 and Category 2 carrier in the AIBRA website “Additional Information” table. The reason is because all their local scheduled service can only be ticketed through the GREYHOUND LINES website with one exception. Their Tuscaloosa – Brent – Marion – Selma – Camden – Pine Hill – Thomasville – Grove Hill – Jackson – Mount Vernon – Creola – Mobile schedule can also be ticketed through the CAPITAL TRAILWAYS website. The three letter CAPITAL TRAILWAYS code for the abovementioned stops in the Alabama station table is CML.

ARIZONA SHUTTLE has absorbed SHUTTLEU.com and SEDONA-PHOENIX SHUTTLE while retaining their routes and schedules. The ARIZONA SHUTTLE Flagstaff – Sedona schedule has been removed from the AIBRA website because it operates seasonally only. Sedona is still served by airport shuttle to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

WHITE MOUNTAIN LINES has become MOUNTAIN VALLEY SHUTTLE with the same schedule and stops. The following stops for their service were added to the AIBRA website:

The parameters for the Illinois link analysis were to provide scheduled service between the 20 largest population concentrations with one or less transfer using existing and proposed schedules. The transfers could last no more than 2.5 hours.

The parameters for the United States link analysis were to provide 40+ miles per hour scheduled service speed between the 40 largest population concentrations less than 800 miles apart using existing and proposed schedules.

AMTRAK – has extended the below passenger trains as follows:

 “Downeaster” – has been extended from Portland through Freeport to Brunswick all in Maine. Brunswick and Portland were both already frequently served. NORTHERN TRANSIT INTERLOCAL (NTIL) – is a transit provider for Toole County, Montana (Shelby is the county seat). They have two bi-weekly routes that were added to the AIBRA website because they meet the service frequency criteria and they go a significant distance providing previously unavailable access to more substantial communities to the south and east via connections with Rimrock Trailways at Great Falls and Kalispell. The two abovementioned routes are as follows:

 Shelby-Cut Bank-Browning-Kalispell (The above are all served by Amtrak’s Empire Builder except Kalispell which is served by Rimrock Trailways).

 Shelby-Conrad-Great Falls (Shelby is served by Amtrak’s Empire Builder. Great Falls is served by Rimrock Trailways. Conrad previously unserved).

NORTH CENTRAL MONTANA TRANSIT (NCMT) – is a transit provider for the Havre, Montana area. They have a bi-weekly route that was added to the AIBRA website because it meets the service frequency criteria and it goes a significant distance providing previously unavailable access to more substantial communities to the south and east via connections with Rimrock Trailways at Great Falls. The abovementioned route is as follows:

 Fort Belknap-Harlem-Chinook-Havre-Laredo-Box Elder-Great Falls (Havre is served by Amtrak’s Empire Builder. Great Falls is served by Rimrock Trailways. All others previously unserved). CHANGES IN THE MIDWEST Update: 1/15/2013

Boyne Falls – still served by Indian Trails St Ignace – Lansing route, but no longer an Amtrak thruways stop. Charlevoix – new Indian Trails and Amtrak thruways stop. Kalkaska – no longer served by anyone, but in close proximity to other existing service. Mancelona – no longer served by anyone, but in close proximity to other existing service. Walloon Lake – still served by Indian Trails St Ignace – Lansing route, but no longer an Amtrak thruways stop.

They have also discontinued the following stops in Michigan:

Harrison – no longer served by anyone, but in close proximity to other existing service. Ionia – no longer served by anyone. This community has been added to the AIBRA unserved area list and map. Plainwell – no longer served by anyone, but in close proximity to other existing service.

AMTRAK – has extended thruways service north from Saginaw, MI to St Ignace using the existing Indian Trails service. As a consequence, the following communities in Michigan are now both Amtrak thruways and Indian Trails stops:

Alpena, Cheboygan, and Tawas City

BARON’S BUS LINES has discontinued their Columbus, OH – Chicago route. The same route is still served by Megabus and Miller Transportation Company. The following communities have been affected:

Chicago, IL – still served by numerous carriers.

Elkhart, IN – still served by Amtrak, Megabus and Miller Transportation Company. Fort Wayne, IN – still served by Greyhound, Megabus and Miller Transportation Company. Gary, IN – still served by Greyhound, Indian Trails, Megabus, Miller Transportation Company and commuter rail. South Bend, IN – still served by Amtrak, Greyhound, Megabus, Miller Transportation Company, Coach USA airport service and commuter rail.

Kenton, OH – still served by Megabus and Miller Transportation Company. Lima, OH – still served by Greyhound, Megabus and Miller Transportation Company.

GREYHOUND – now tickets the following carriers’ local service through their website (with a few minor exceptions):

Indian Trails – Routes mostly in Michigan and Wisconsin with route termini in Duluth, MN and Chicago, IL as well. Lamers Bus Lines – Routes mostly in Wisconsin with a route terminus in Dubuque, IA as well. Land to Air Express –Route in southern Minnesota Porter Stage Lines – Route in western Oregon. Eastern POINT – Route in eastern Oregon. Northwestern POINT – Route in northwestern Oregon.

In the AIBRA website, the above routes are now shown as green on the contiguous United States map and the “Additional Information” list has been updated as well.

Troy, NC has been removed from the AIBRA website unserved map and list because of its proximity to Greensboro transit service.
