OCTOBERBy Cailey Greenwald

October 2017: I can’t wait to get out of here. No friends, no boyfriend, no life. The one time I decide to give this stupid town a chance and, of course, I lose everything. I abandoned the only real friends I had just because I thought the popular crowd actually liked me. Maybe they did. The truth is… I didn’t like them. Why would I want to be friends with people who talk about someone as soon as he or she leaves the room? What were they saying about me? Maybe they didn’t like me after all. I guess I’ll never know. Now the friends I had before won’t even talk to me because they think I’m fake like the rest of them. Maybe I am. Honestly, I don’t even know Julia Slezak who I am anymore. I’ve only ever had one boyfriend here, but he was a dead end. There’s nothing holding me here. I just hope I can finally have a life when I go to WHY DO I LOVE college next year. The Mountain, so silent, where beauty is found The silence is golden, so quiet, no sound With the blink of an eye, the woods come alive With the trickling of streams, and animals that thrive
