Press Release Anf Seized 211.030 Kg Drugs Worth Us PRESS RELEASE ANF SEIZED 211.030 KG DRUGS WORTH US$ 9.179 MILLION IN 13 OPERATIONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY, ARRESTED 14 PERSONS INCLUDING ANAFGHAN NATIONAL & INTERCEPTED 7 VEHICLES Proving its commitment to eradicate drugs from our homeland, Anti Narcotics Force Pakistan seized 211.030 Kg narcotics worth US$ 9.179 Million internationally, arrested 14 culprits including an Afghan Citizen involved in drug smuggling and impounded 7 vehicles while conducting 13 counter- narcotics strikes throughout the country. The seized drugs comprised of 106.530 Kg Hashish, 84 Kg Opium & 20.500 Kg Heroin. ANF Rawalpindi, Police Station Dina staff during routine checking of passengers at Tarakai Toll Plaza GT road Jhelum recovered 1.200 Kg Hashish from personal possession of the arrested accused Zaheer Abbas resident of Mandi Bahauddin. In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi, Police Station Islamabad conducted an operation, near Desi Dera Restaurant PWD Express Highway, Islamabad, intercepted Suzuki Ivory Car and recovered 12 Kg heroin from secret cavities of the seized car. Accused Aqalmand Khan resident of Mardan was arrested on the spot. On the pointation of the above mentioned arrested accused further 6 Kg heroin and 01 SMG along with 01 Magazine have been recovered from his residence located at Islamabad. In third operation, Police Station RD Islamabad conducted an operation near Haq Bahu Hotel at G.T road Islamabad intercepted a Suzuki Mehran Car and recovered 1.200 Kg Hashish from arrested accused namely Khair Ul Amin resident of Charsadda and Muhammad Meer resident of Haripur, who is permanent resident of Qandoz Afghanistan. In fourth operation, Police Station RD ANF Rawalpindi, Islamabad established a naka at Motorway link road, Islamabad intercepted a Toyota Hiace and recovered 1.200 Kg Hashish from arrested accused namely Afzal Wahid resident of Swabi and Nimat Ullah Khan resident of Charsadda. ANF Peshawar, on a tip-off, intercepted a courier parcel at DHL office Niaz Commercial Plaza near Phase-III Chowk Peshawar which was booked for Barcelona (Spain) and seized four traditional Afghani female bridal dress. During detailed search heroin-soaked patches were found which were tactfully stitched in above mentioned dresses. The net weight of heroin will be determined after extraction of heroin from soaked clothes. In another operation, PS Peshawar in collaboration with FC KP North at Baghiari Check Point Intercepted a Toyota Fielder Car and recovered 2.330 Kg Hashish from the seized car. One accused Shakil Khan resident of Peshawar was arrested on the spot. In third operation, ANF Peshawar, recovered 1.200 Kg Hashish from personal possession of the arrested accused Muhammad Sadiq resident of Peshawar at Warsak road, Peshawar. ANF Karachi, conducted a raid at Bungalow no.153/I, Street No.7, Phase-IV, DHA Karachi and recovered 10 Kg Hashish. Asif Ashraf resident of Karachi was arrested on the spot. He was also absconder/involved in another drug case of ANF. In second case, on the pointation/ interrogation of arrested accused person namely Asif Ashraf, who disclosed that a huge quantity of drugs are lying at Chanessar Goth Mehmoodabad, Karachi, in pursuance of this information PS RD Karachi, conducted a raid near Afzal General Store Chanessar Goth Mehmoodabad Karachi and recovered 1 Kg Hashish from personal possession of accused Muhammad Ali resident of Karachi. In third operation, ANF Karachi, PS Gulshan-e-Iqbal intercepted a car near Toll Plaza Hub river road Karachi and recovered 2.500 Kg Heroin and 2 Kg Hashish from personal possession of the arrested accused Hafeez Ahmed resident of Quetta. ANF Punjab, Police Station Lahore established a naka near Kot Abdul Malik Sheikhupura intercepted Toyota Corolla Car and recovered 84 Kg Opium & 73.200 Kg Hashish which was concealed in secret cavity of the said car. Accused Nasir Khan resident of Peshawar was arrested on the spot. In another operation, RD ANF Punjab, staff of Police Station Faisalabad raided near Allah Waris Motors and Rent a car, Migi Chowk, Kot Momin, District Sargodha and recovered 10.800 Kg Hashish from personal possession of the arrested accused Shahid Khan resident of Sargodha. In third operation, RD ANF Punjab, staff of PS Faisalabad intercepted a Motorcycle near shell petrol pump, old Chungi stop,satyana road, Faisalabad and recovered 2.400 Kg Hashish from personal possession of the arrested accused Mohsin Ali resident of Faisalabad. All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are underway. Due to its medical and veterinary importance, it is essential to study the seroprevalence of T. gondii infection among humans and animals in various parts of the world. The major objective of this study was to determine the seroprevalence and spatial distribution of toxoplasmosis in small ruminants (sheep and goats) of north-eastern region, Pakistan. A total of 1,000 ani- mals comprising of sheep (n= 470) and goats (n= 530) were examined for T. gondii infection by using ELISA. An epidemio- logical data was collected in the form of questionnaire.

For the analysis CA-Markov model and Fuzzy membership technique has been adopted on area selected on CPEC route and one special economic zone named Rashkai-SEZ situated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The analysis shows that population density at Eastern route of CPEC is greater than central and western route. Especially at western route, rare population settlement and less density is shown on maps. For the micro level analysis, we use Kot-Momin as study area. The analysis shows a visible growth pattern of settlement in surrounding parts of CPEC route of this area will be observed. The growth rate shows an enhancement of 2% in 2015 to 16% in 2030. The growth pattern observed during the said period shows that area grew from 20 km2 to 144 km2 by 2030, while demographic analysis of Raskai-SEZ observed a growth pattern during the 2015-2030 that shows study area grew from 27 km2 to 104 km2 by 2030.
