TOEWS RECALLED Defenseman Devon Toews earned his first NHL recall up on Wednesday. Toews, 24, recorded 19 points (5G, 14A) in 24 games with the Sound Tigers this season, which ranks second among team defensemen and fourth overall. Toews is the only player on the Islanders’ roster who has yet to appear in a game this season. The Abbotsford, BC native was drafted by the Islanders in the Fourth round (108th overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft.

JOSH'N AROUND: New York Islanders alternate captain, Josh Bailey is currently riding a four-game point streak (4A), good for longest on the team. Bailey, 29, co-leads the Islanders with 28 points through 34 games this season. The Bowmanville, ON native and longest tenured player on the Islanders has nine points (2G, 7A) in 14 career games against the Dallas Stars.

PU-LOCKED IN:I slanders defenseman, Ryan Pulock recorded an assist for the third straight game and now has five helpers in the last three games. Pulock, 24, leads all Islanders blueliners in points (15) through 34 games this season. The Dauphin, MB native has recorded 13 assists which is tied for third most on the team. Pulock recorded an assist in the November meeting between the Islanders and Stars.

Trotz spent the previous four seasons as the Head Coach of the Washington Capitals.
