FIFTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Page 3 PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time Reflection Maybe the work is best left to the professionals. That’s how many people view the preaching of the Gospel. That’s the stuff priests, religious, deacons, lay ministers, and other professional Church people do. It has little to do with me. Well, that’s not really true. The fact of the matter is that preaching the Gospel has everything to do with you, with all of us who are bap- tized members of the Body of Christ. Nobody gets off the hook from that job. The question is, however, how do we do it? Well, there’s a safe way, which many choose, to preach the Gospel N and the risky way. The safe way pretty much keeps the Gospel in church and around likeminded people. I say my prayers, go “When shall we see Our Lord honored day and to Mass, contribute to the food pantry, tithe, and at- night in every parish through the Catholic world? tend Bible Study. That pretty much covers the bases, I love to cherish the hope!” right? Wrong. (Ven. Leo DuPont) The risky way is the more challenging way and for Adorers are needed for the following Open Hours: many, the “road less traveled.” Imagine those first disciples going out and into people’s homes. They Sunday: 1am, 4am, (No Adoration from 7am to 2pm) must have had some amazing conversations with Monday: 1am,3am folks about God’s kingdom, changing their hearts, Tuesday: 11pm wks 1,3,5 forgiving sins, and looking at the world differently. Wednesday: 1am They must have met people who were hurting, exiled Thursday: 2am, 11pm from their communities, neglected, lost, or living Friday: 9pm wks 1,3,5 selfinsulated lives in a society that served the rich Saturday: 12am wks 2 and 5, 1am, 4am, 5am, 6am and neglected the poor. While there were many who (No Adoration from 7am to 6pm), 6pm, 7pm wks 2, 4,5, welcomed what they had to say and the conversations 8pm, 9pm wks 3,5 We are especially in need of Adorers on Saturday. If you they had, there were others who no doubt rejected can commit to two weeks a month, that would be helpful. them and literally tossed them out on their ears! The Contact Kathy Dunworth to schedule a Holy Hour at Gospel, while being a message of joy and hope, is 3023836452 or [email protected] not always received well by those who are very comfortable keeping things as they are. The risky way involves example and conversation. We have to take the Gospel from church and carry it with us wherever we go. What kinds of conversations do we have with others? We interact with those closest to us, in our work, social circles, institutions, corpora- tions, in politics, and beyond. Our conversations with others reveal a great deal about how we see things and what we consider important. If we are really interested in seeing God’s vision for the world succeed, then we will talk about it. It will become a part of our everyday conversation and find its way into our interactions with others. • 12Th Sunday After Pentecost (Old Vulgate Is the Bible)
12th Sunday after Pentecost (Old Vulgate is the Bible) “At that time, Jesus said to His disciples: Blessed are the eyes that see the things which you see. For I say to you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see the things that you see, and have not seen them; and to hear the things that you hear, and have not heard them.” 1. When St. Augustine was struggling to convert and embrace Lady Continence, sitting in the orchard weeping from the strain of it all, he heard a child’s voice singing out to him: “Tolle Lege! Tolle Lege!” … “Take up and read… take up and read.” He did. He took up the Sacred Scriptures and randomly opened to Romans, reading this passage: “let us walk honestly, as in the day: not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and impurities, not in contention and envy: but put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ and make not provision for the flesh in its concupiscences” (13:13-14). 2. We have Divinely Revealed Truth that has been written down for our eyes to see and our ears to hear, the Sacred Scriptures. These Scriptures are words from God, sure and certain. They are Sacred and Holy. So much so the saints would only read them kneeling down after much prayer. St. Thomas Aquinas, the universal doctor of the Church, the angelic doctor, would weep and pray if he did not understand some passage, begging heaven to enlighten him… and heaven did!! 3. This is the Book of books, the Holy Bible.

  • Holy Face Devotion St Veronica's Compassionate Sewers Prayer
St Veronica’s Compassionate Sewers Prayer Christ has no body but yours, no hands, no feet on earth but yours, yours are the eyes with which He looks compassion on this world. Yours are the feet with which He walks to do good, yours are the hands, with which He blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are His body. Christ has no body now but yours, no hands, no feet on earth but yours, yours are the eyes with which He looks compassion on this world. Christ has no body now on earth but yours. Amen Holy Face Devotion The Golden Arrow Prayer May the most holy, most sacred, most adorable, most incomprehensible and unutterable Name of God be always praised, blessed, loved, adored and glorified, in Heaven, on earth, and under the earth, by all the creatures of God, and by the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Amen Prayers of Devotion Dear Lord, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, we offer You these prayers in reparation for the sins which offend God the most in these modern times-- the sins of blasphemy and the profanation of Sunday and Your Holy Days of Obligation. Our Father Hail Mary Glory Be To The Father THE ARCHCONFRATERNITY OF THE HOLY FACE The Revelations given to Sr. Mary of St. Peter and the countless healing miracles that happened in front of the Holy Face image in Leo Dupont's home, finally lead to this special devotion being established by Pope Leo XIII as an Archconfraternity in 1885 ; and contrary to custom, he immediately established the Holy Face Devo- tion for the entire world.

  • A World View Based on Fatima
Includes Sister Lucy on “Diabolical Disorientation” A World View Based on Fatima This edited transcript of a speech given at the Fatima: World Peace 2000 conference, October 1999 helps us better understand the real background to the full Fatima Secret. Today is October 13, 1999, the 82nd anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun in Fatima on October 13, 1917. This miracle had been predicted three months earlier, on July 13, 1917. At that time, Lucy of Fatima appealed to Our Lady: “I should like to ask You to tell us who You are, and to work a miracle so that everyone will believe that Your Grace has appeared to us.” Our Lady answered, “Continue to come here every month. In October, I will say who I am and what I want, and I will perform a miracle so that all might see in order to believe.” And on October 13, 1917, 82 years ago today, 70,000 people witnessed the great Miracle of the Sun. 70,000 people saw the sun dance in the sky, and then plummet toward the earth. These witnesses, including Jacinta’s father, Ti Marto, tell us they were terrified. He said “The sun ... began to move and dance until it seemed that it was being detached from the sky and was falling on us. It was a terrible moment.” According to the witnesses, the miracle lasted about 8 minutes. And after the sun “returned to its place in the sky”, the ground, which before the miracle had been saturated due to an all-night driving rain, was dry.
