This route serves pupils who live in the parish of Orphir. The main route may extend as far as the Orphir/Stenness border and will serve the main Orphir/ Kirkwall road, Scorradale road and may also extend down the Gyre road when there are pupils living in this area, returning via the A964 and on to Kirkwall Grammar School.

Feeder services from the Smoogro/Germiston areas link with this route in the winter terms where entitlement permits.

Note - There is also a service bus (Service 2 Houton) operating from the Houton Pier for and Hoy pupils who attend KGS. Only Flotta and Hoy pupils should travel on the service bus.

The route extends to the Halley road junction then travels along the Halley road, turning right past the property of Greentoft returning to the main road passing West Manse. Onwards to corner returning to the main road via Quoys road. The route picks up pupils in the Toab area and then on to Kirkwall Grammar School.

This route starts from Evie School, continues through Costa, Swannay and on to the Palace in Birsay. It then takes the main Birsay/Dounby road past the Twatt Kirk into Dounby and out the Vettquoy Road to the Sandwick junction and on to Stromness Academy.

There may be a winter diversion on this route to take in the North Side and Palace areas of Birsay before returning to the crossroads.

This route diverts past the Stenness primary school taking in the Hill and Ireland roads on to the Orphir road as far as the boundary between Orphir and Stenness before returning to the main road at the Brig O’ Waithe and then on to Stromness Academy.

This route starts in Finstown and travels along the main Kirkwall/Stromness road and then turns right up Zion’s Loan to access the Old Finstown Road to collect pupils from the St Ola/Firth boundary through to Finstown. Pupils from Maitland Place meet the bus at the garage, the route continues to pick up pupils in Finstown before continuing on to Stromness Academy via Deepdale corner.

Note - this route terminates in Finstown in the afternoon
