3 All heaven declares The glory of the risen Lord. Who can compare With the beauty of the Lord? For ever he will be The Lamb upon the throne; I gladly bow the knee And worship him alone.

I will proclaim The glory of the risen Lord; Who once was slain To reconcile man to God. For ever you will be The Lamb upon the throne; I gladly bow the knee, And worship you alone. © 1987 Thankyou Music. Mission Praise, combined music edition (London: Marshall Pickering, 1990) Back to index

4 All to Jesus I surrender, All to him I freely give; I will ever love and trust him, In his presence daily live. I surrender all, I surrender all, All to thee, my blessed Saviour, I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender, Humbly at his feet I bow; Worldly pleasures all forsaken, Take me, Jesus, take me now. I surrender all, I surrender all, All to thee, my blessed Saviour, I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender, Make me, Saviour, wholly thine; Let me feel the Holy Spirit, Truly know that thou art mine. I surrender all, I surrender all, All to thee, my blessed Saviour, I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender,

Lord, I give myself to thee; Fill me with Thy love and power, Let Thy blessing fall on me. I surrender all, I surrender all, All to thee, my blessed Saviour, I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender, Now I feel the sacred flame; Oh, the joy of full salvation! Glory, glory to his name! I surrender all, I surrender all, All to thee, my blessed Saviour, I surrender all. © words Harper Collins Religious. Mission Praise, combined music edition (London: Marshall Pickering, 1990)

6 As the deer pants for the water, So my soul longs after you. You alone are my heart's desire And I long to worship you. You alone are my strength, my shield; To you alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart's desire And I long to worship you..

I want you more than gold or silver: Only you can satisfy. You alone are the real joy-giver And the apple of my eye. You alone are my strength, my shield; To you alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart's desire And I long to worship you..

You're my friend and you're my brother, Even though you are a king. I love you more than any other, So much more than anything. You alone are my strength, my shield; To you alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart's desire And I long to worship you.. © 1984 Marantha Music. Songs of the Nations, Scripture in Song book 3 (Auckland: Scripture in Song, 1988) Back to index

8 Be still, for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One, is here;

Come bow before him now with reverence and fear: In him no sin is found- we stand on holy ground. Be still, for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One, is here.

Be still, for the glory of the Lord is shining all around; He burns with holy fire, with splendour he is crowned: How awesome is the sight- our radiant King of light! Be still, for the glory of the Lord is shining all around.

Be still, for the power of the Lord is moving in this place: He comes to cleanse and heal, to minister his grace: No work too hard for him- in faith receive from him. Be still, for the power of the Lord is moving in this place.

12 Brother, sister let me serve you, Let me be as Christ to you.

Pray that I may have the grace To let you be my servant too.

We are pilgrims on a journey, We are travellers on the road. We are here to help each other Walk the mile and bear the load.

I will hold the Christ-light for you, in the night-time of your fear. I will hold my hand out to you, speak the peace you long to hear.

I will weep when you are weeping, when you laugh, I'll laugh with you. I will share your joy and sorrow 'till we've seen this journey through.

When we sing to God in heaven, we shall find such harmony, born of all we've known together of Christ's love, and agony. © 1977 Scripture in Song. Alleuluia Aotearoa: Hymns and songs for all churches (Wellington: NZ Hymnbook Trust, 1993)

14 Colours of the day dawn into the mind, the sun has come up, the night is behind. Go down in the city, into the street, and let’s give the message to the people we meet.

So light up the fire and let the flame burn,

open the door, let Jesus return. Take seeds of his Spirit, let the fruit grow, tell the people of Jesus, let his love show.

Go through the park, on into the town; the sun still shines on, it never goes down. The light of the world is risen again; the people of darkness are needing a friend. So light up the fire and let the flame burn, open the door, let Jesus return. Take seeds of his Spirit, let the fruit grow, tell the people of Jesus, let his love show.

Open your eyes, look into the sky, the darkness has come, the sun came to die the evening drawn on, the sun disappears, but Jesus is living, his Spirit is near. So light up the fire and let the flame burn, open the door, let Jesus return. Take seeds of his Spirit, let the fruit grow, tell the people of Jesus, let his love show. ©1974 Thankyou Music. One day every tongue will confess you are God, one day every knee will bow, still the greatest treasure remains for those who gladly choose you now.

16 Come to the water! You who are thirsty! Though you have nothing, I bid you come! And be filled with the goodness I have to offer!

Come! Listen! Live!

Why spend your money on what cannot fill The emptiness deep in your heart? Listen to my word and you will enjoy Goodness and peace in your heart!

Come to the water! You who are thirsty! Though you have nothing, I bid you come! And be filled with the goodness I have to offer! Come! Listen! Live!

Just as the heavens are high above earth; My ways and thoughts beyond you! Call me your Saviour and know I am near! I will be Saviour for you!

Come to the water! You who are thirsty! Though you have nothing, I bid you come! And be filled with the goodness I have to offer! Come! Listen! Live!

Just as the rain falls to water the earth; Just as the seed becomes bread... My word upon you can never return Until my longing is filled!

Come to the water! You who are thirsty! Though you have nothing, I bid you come! And be filled with the goodness I have to offer! Come! Listen! Live! © Chevalier Bookshop. Eagle’s Wings: scripture in song [tape] (Kensington, NSW: Chevalier Bookshop) Back to index

17 Community of Christ, who make the Cross your own live out your creed and risk your life for God alone; the God who wears your face to whom all worlds belong whose children are of every race and every song.

Community of Christ, look past the Church’ s door and see the refugee, the hungry and the poor. Take hands with the oppressed, the jobless in your street. Take towel and water, that you wash

- your neighbour’s feet.

Community of Christ, through whom the word must sound, cry out for justice and for peace, the whole world round. Disarm the powers that war, and all that can destroy. Turn bombs to bread, and tears of anguish - into joy.

When menace melts away, so shall God’s will be done. The climate of the world be peace and Christ its sun; Our currency is love and kindness is our law; our food and faith be shared as one – for evermore. ©Shirley Murray. In Every Corner Sing, Hope Publishing Back to index

20 Every day I will offer you, loving God, my heart and mind, every way I discover you in the work your hand has signed; help me see I’m your image, and you have dreamed what I might be,

every day in your Spirit, I’ll find the love and energy!

Every day I will look to Christ, and give thanks for wine and bread through the pain and the emptiness where your world cries to be fed; help me see I can work for change, and wherever I might be, every day in your Spirit, I’ll find the love and energy!

Every day I will take your word, answer your compassion’s claim, celebrate every sign of hope, every deed done in your name; help me see you are always there, and your light can shine through me, every day in your Spirit, I’ll find the love and energy! © words Shirley Murray, © music Colin Gibson. 22 Father, I thank you For all that you've done; You gave your Son freely for me, And I praise you for calling me, Drawing me near, Out of blindness you caused me to see.

Spirit of life, You are God's holy fire, You've kindled my heart with your blaze, And I know you're refining me,

Changing my life, And by faith you're revealing your ways.

Jesus, I need you As Lord of my life, I give all I have unto you; Lord, I want to come under Your heavenly hand, And to praise you in all that I do.

24 Fill my house, unto the fullest, eat my bread and drink my wine; the love I bear is held from no-one. All I have, and all I do, I give to you.

Take my time, unto the fullest, find in me the trust you seek; take my hands to you outreaching. All I have, and all I do, I give to you.

26 From heav'n you came, helpless babe,

Entered our world, your glory veiled; Not to be served, but to serve, And give your life that we might live. This is our God, the Servant King, He calls us now to follow him, To bring our lives as a daily offering Of worship to the Servant King.

There in the garden of tears My heavy load he chose to bear. His heart with sorrow was torn, "Yet not my will, but yours," he said. This is our God, the Servant King, He calls us now to follow him, To bring our lives as a daily offering Of worship to the Servant King.

Come see his hands and his feet, The scars that speak of sacrifice, Hands that flung stars into space To cruel nails surrendered. This is our God, the Servant King, He calls us now to follow him, To bring our lives as a daily offering Of worship to the Servant King.

So let us learn how to serve And in our lives enthrone him. Each other's needs to prefer, For it is Christ we're serving. This is our God, the Servant King, He calls us now to follow him, To bring our lives as a daily offering Of worship to the Servant King. © 1983 Kingway’s Thankyou Music. 27 Gentle God, when we are driven past the limits of our love, when our hurt would have a weapon and the hawk destroy the dove- at the cost of seeming weak, help us turn the other cheek.

Gentle spirit, when our reason clouds in anger, twists in fear, when we strike instead of stroking, when we bruise and sting and smear-

cool our burning, take our pain, bring us to ourselves again.

In the mirror of earth’s madness, let us see our ravaged face, in the turmoil of all people let compassion find a place; touch our hearts to make amends, see our enemies as friends.

Let our strength be in forgiving as forgiven we must be, one to one in costly loving, finding trust and growing free; gentle God, be our release, gentle Spirit, teach us peace. © words 1989 Shirley Murray, © music 1992 David Dell. 29 Glory and honour, living God, to you, teacher of truth, our guide in all we do. Your Spirit gathers us in common prayer, yours is the ministry of love we share.

Yours is the gift of faith when we believe, You are the strength in all that we achieve, You are our wisdom, help us to discern Christ in each other, Christ in all we learn.

Longing to serve you, looking for a home hopeful and hungry, this is how we come.

Welcome us, heal us, living God, and then feed us and send us out to serve again.

Send us to love the world that you hold dear, speaking your truth in words that it can hear: good news of Jesus, gifts of peace and bread, stories of people healed and people fed.

O God, unsettle us, and make us grow, trusting you past the edge of what we know. Send us, and give us courage to embrace struggle and blessing, poverty and grace. © Elizabeth Smith. Rejoice! For God Has Called us, St Stephen's Press

30 Glory to you, my God, this night for all the blessings of the light, to you from whom all good does come, our life, our health our lasting home.

Teach me to live that I may dread the grave as little as my bed, teach me to die, that so I may

rise glorious at the aweful day.

O may I now on you repose and may kind sleep my eyelids close, sleep that may me more vigorous make to serve my God when I awake.

If I lie restless on my bed your word of healing peace be said, if powerful dreams rise in the night transform their darkness into light.

31 Go at the call of God, the call to follow on, to leave security behind and go where Christ has gone.

Go in the name of God, the name of Christ you bear; take up the cross, its victim's love with all the world to share.

Go in the love of God, explore its depth and height. Held fast by love that cares, that heals, in love walk in the light.

Go in the strength of God, in weakness prove God true. The strength that dares to love and serve God will pour out in you.

Go with the saints of God, our common life upbuild, that daily as we walk God's way we may with love be filled.

O God, to you we come, your love alone to know, your name to own, your strength to prove, and at your call to go. © Rosalind Brown Sing! New Words for Worship, (Sarum College Press 2004)

34 God gives us a future, daring us to go into dreams and dangers on a path unknown. We will face tomorrow in the Spirit's power, we will let God change us, for new life starts now.

We must leave behind us sins of yesterday, for God's new beginning is a better way.

Fear and doubt and habit must not hold us back: God gives hope, and insight, and the strength we lack.

Holy Spirit, teach us how to read the signs, how to meet the challenge of our troubled times. Love us into action, stir us into prayer, till we choose God's life, and find our future there. Elizabeth Smith. Rejoice! For God has Called us. (Sydney: St Stephen's Press.)

35 God of hope and God of healing, ever turning lives around, Come restore, come re-inspire us, free the hearts that fear has bound.

Hope-filled God, you keep enlarging boundaries we try to set;

raise our sights to new horizons, greater dreams than we dream yet.

Healing God, your breath first formed us, then, made flesh, our sickness bore, here we bring ourselves, our loved ones, heal, make whole, breathe life once more.

Author God, you re-write stories turn life’s losses into gain, hope is known when life seems hopeless, health arises from the pain.

So we come with tears and triumphs asking you to set us free, hope and healing are your nature, God of love and mystery.

36 God sent his Son, they called him Jesus; He came to love, heal and forgive;

He lived and died to buy my pardon; An empty grave is there to prove my Saviour lives.

Because he lives I can face tomorrow; Because he lives all fear is gone; Because I know he holds the future, And life is worth the living just because he lives.

How sweet to hold a newborn baby And feel the pride and joy he gives; But greater still the calm assurance This child can face uncertain days Because he lives.

Because he lives I can face tomorrow; Because he lives all fear is gone; Because I know he holds the future, And life is worth the living just because he lives.

And then one day I'll cross the river; I'll fight life's final war with pain; And then as death gives way to victory, I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know he lives.

Because he lives I can face tomorrow; Because he lives all fear is gone; Because I know he holds the future, And life is worth the living just because he lives. © 1971 William J. Gaither/Fine Balance Music. Mission Praise, combined music edition (London: Marshall Pickering, 1990)

37 God, the heart and goal of being to whose love we trust our lives. Help us seek, and so discover pathways new which faith provides; Give us knowledge, give us insight and fresh visions of your light.

God, whose touch brings hope to people, who are lost without your love. Hear the prayers and praise we offer from our dark to light above; Teach us how to share your glory that your presence all may see.

Exploration brings new insights, changes, choices we must face; give us wisdom in deciding, mindful always of your grace; should we stumble, lose our bearings, find it hard to know what’s right, we regain our true direction focused on the Jesus light.

End our longing for the old days, grant the vision that we lack - once we've started on this journey there can be no turning back; let us travel light, discarding excess baggage from our past, cherish only what's essential, choosing treasure that will last.

When we set up camp and settle to avoid love’s risk and pain, you disturb complacent comfort, pull the tent pegs up again; keep us travelling in the knowledge

you are always at our side; give us courage for the journey Christ our goal and Christ our guide. © Joy Dine, Faith Forever Singing [NZHBT 2000]

39 Great is your faithfulness, O God my Father, you have fulfilled all your promise to me; you never fail and your love is unchanging- all you have been you for ever will be. Great is your faithfulness, great is your faithfulness, morning by morning new mercies I see; all I have needed your hand has provided, great is your faithfulness, Father, to me.

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest, sun, moon and stars in their courses above join with all nature in eloquent witness to your great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Great is your faithfulness, great is your faithfulness,

morning by morning new mercies I see; all I have needed your hand has provided, great is your faithfulness, Father, to me.

Pardon for sin, and a peace everlasting, your living presence to cheer and to guide; strength for today, and bright hope for tomorrow- these are the blessings, your love will provide.

Great is your faithfulness, great is your faithfulness, morning by morning new mercies I see; all I have needed your hand has provided, great is your faithfulness, Father, to me. © 1925, 1951 Hope Publishing Co. Hymns for Today’s Church, 2nd music edition (London: Hodder, 1987)

you and I be the singers.

47 I am the Bread of Life; He who comes to me shall not hunger; He who believes in me shall not thirst. No one can come to me, unless the Father draw him.

And I will raise them up, And I will raise them up, And I will raise them up on the last day.

The bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world; And he who eats of this bread he shall live forever; he shall live forever. And I will raise them up, And I will raise them up, And I will raise them up on the last day.

Unless you eat of the flesh of the Son of Man, And drink of his blood, You shall not have life within you. And I will raise them up, And I will raise them up, And I will raise them up on the last day.

I am the resurrection; I am the Life: He who believes in me, even though they die, they shall live forever. And I will raise them up, And I will raise them up, And I will raise them up on the last day.

Yes, Lord, we believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God; Who has come into the world. And I will raise them up, And I will raise them up, And I will raise them up on the last day. © 1971 GIA Publications Inc. Mission Praise, combined music edition (London: Marshall Pickering, 1990)

48 I have carried you on eagles' wings! I will care for you through all your years!

My heart is full of peace;

You have been within my life! Your guiding hand has always covered me; I am full of confidence in you! I have carried you on eagles' wings! I will care for you through all your years!

My soul is like a child Cradled safe within your arms. You have carried me across the years, Leading me through sorrow and through joy. I have carried you on eagles' wings! I will care for you through all your years!

I know failure in my life, The weakness so central to my heart. When I have strayed or fallen in my life, You gently set me on my feet again. I have carried you on eagles' wings! I will care for you through all your years!

Never need I be afraid, No matter how uncertain things may be. Sometimes through me, sometimes in spite of me, You seem to find your purpose in my life. I have carried you on eagles' wings!

I will care for you through all your years!

You have bridged the flowing streams, And moved aside the mountain tall! You have kept me through the stormy past; I know that you secure and guide me still. I have carried you on eagles' wings! I will care for you through all your years! © Chevalier Bookshop. Eagle’s Wings: Scripture in Song [tape] (Kensington, NSW: Chevalier Bookshop)

51 I serve a risen Saviour, He's in the world today; I know that he is living, whatever others say; I see his hand of mercy, I hear his voice of cheer; and just the time I need him, He's always near.

He lives, he lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way. He lives, he lives, Salvation to impart! You ask me how I know he lives? He lives within my heart!

In all the world around me I see his loving care, and though my heart grows weary I never will despair; I know that he is leading, through all the stormy blast, the day of his appearing will come at last.

He lives, he lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way. He lives, he lives,

Salvation to impart! You ask me how I know he lives? He lives within my heart!

Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King! The hope of all who seek him, The help of all who find, none other is so loving, so good and kind.

52 I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry. All who dwell in dark and sin My hand will save. I who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear my light to them? Whom will I send?

Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if you lead me; I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne my people's pain; I have wept for love of them: They turn away. I will break their hearts of stone; Give them hearts for love alone. I will speak my word to them: Whom shall I send?

Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?

I have heard you calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if you lead me; I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame; I will set a feast for them. My hand will save. Finest bread I will provide Till their hearts be satisfied. I will give my life to them: Whom shall I send?

53 It only takes a spark to get a fire going, And soon all those around can warm up in its glowing;

That's how it is with God's love, once you've experienced it: You spread his love to everyone; You want to pass it on.

What a wondrous time is spring when all the trees are budding, The birds begin to sing; the flowers start their blooming; That's how it is with God's love, once you've experienced it, you want to sing; it's fresh like spring; You want to pass it on.

I wish for you, my friend, this happiness that I've found; You can depend on him; it matters not where you're bound; I'll shout it from the mountain top, I want my world to know: the Lord of Love has come to me; I want to pass it on.

54 I want to walk with Jesus Christ all the days I live of this life on earth; to give to him complete control of body and of soul.

Follow him, follow him, Give your life to him- He has conquered death, He is King of Kings; Accept the joy which he gives to those who yield their lives to him!

I want to learn to speak to him, to pray to him, confess my sin, to open my life and let him in, for joy will then be mine.

Follow him, follow him, Give your life to him- He has conquered death,

He is King of Kings; Accept the joy which he gives to those who yield their lives to him!

I want to learn to speak of him; my life must show that he lives in me; my deeds, my thoughts, my words must speak of his great love for me.

Follow him, follow him, Give your life to him- He has conquered death, He is King of Kings; Accept the joy which he gives to those who yield their lives to him!

I want to learn to read his Word, for this is how I know the way to live my life as pleases him, in holiness and joy.

Follow him, follow him, Give your life to him- He has conquered death, He is King of Kings;

Accept the joy which he gives to those who yield their lives to him!

O Holy Spirit of the Lord, Now enter into this heart of mine; take full control of my selfish will and make me yours alone!

75 Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring your love; where there is injury, your pardon, Lord, and where there’s doubt, true faith in you.

O Master grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood, as to understand, to be loved, as to love with all my soul..

Make me a channel of your peace. Where there’s despair in life, let me bring hope. Where there is darkness, only light, and where there’s sadness ever joy. O Master grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood, as to understand, to be loved, as to love with all my soul..

Make me a channel of your peace.

79 Morning has broken like the first morning; blackbird has spoken like the first bird: praise for the singing, praise for the morning, praise for them springing fresh from the word!

Sweet the rain’s new fall, sunlit from heaven, like the first dew fall on the first grass: praise for the sweetness of the wet garden, sprung in completeness where his feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning born of the one light Eden saw play: praise with elation, praise every morning,

81 Now to your table spread we come, each one, in faith that you alone provide the words of life and death: in wine and bread, in promised food we find your loving heart, O God.

Hands of the world stretch out, your mystery to touch in longing to believe a truth beyond our reach, to sing in joy, to cry in grief, to know your meaning for our life.

Here is our common wealth in sharing what is good, as though all humankind around one table stood, this bread to break, this wine to taste - one people in the name of Christ. © words Shirley Murray © music John Nicholas Ireland Trust. 83 O the mercy of God, the glory of grace; That you chose to redeem us, to forgive and restore. And you call us your children, chosen in him To be holy and blameless, to the glory of God-

To the praise of his glorious grace, To the praise of his glory and power. To him be all glory, honour and praise, For ever and ever and ever, Amen.

O the riches of grace, the depths of his love; In him is redemption, the forgiveness of sin. And you called us as righteous, predestined in him

For the praise of his glory, included in Christ-

To the praise of his glorious grace, To the praise of his glory and power. To him be all glory, honour and praise, For ever and ever and ever, Amen.

O the glory of God, expressed in his love; His image and likeness, revealed in his son. The plan of the ages, completed in Christ That we be presented, perfected in him-

To the praise of his glorious grace, To the praise of his glory and power. To him be all glory, honour and praise, For ever and ever and ever, Amen. © 1997 Watershed Productions Back to index

84 Only by grace can we enter, only by grace can we stand; not by our human endeavour, but by the blood of the Lamb. Into your presence you call us you call us to come,

Into your presence you draw us, and now by your grace we come, now by your grace we come.

Lord if you mark our transgressions, who would stand? Thanks to your grace we are cleansed by the blood of the Lamb.

86 Our life has its seasons, and God has the reasons why spring follows winter, and new leaves grow: For there’s a connection with our resurrection that flowers will bud after frost and snow, So there’s never a time to stop believing, there’s never a time for hope to die, there’s never a time to stop loving, these three things go on.

There’s a time to be planting, a time to be plucking, a time to be laughing, a time to weep, a time to be building, a time to be breaking, a time to be waking, a time to sleep - But there’s never a time to stop believing, there’s never a time for hope to die, there’s never a time to stop loving, these three things go on.

There’s a time to be hurting, a time to be healing, a time to be saving, a time to spend, a time to be grieving, a time to be dancing, a time for beginning, a time to end - But there’s never a time to stop believing, there’s never a time for hope to die, there’s never a time to stop loving, these three things go on. © words Shirley Murray, © music Colin Gibson. 88 Rejoice for God has called us from darkness into light, a people of thanksgiving, a people of delight. For we are Christ’s own body, made up of many parts, united in one Spirit poured into many hearts.

The ministry of loving is given to us all, the call to prayer and service is every Christian's call. And every man and woman who ever was baptised brings gifts the church has need of, to witness to the Christ.

So some have gifts of healing, some dream, some plan, some teach, Some make the stranger welcome, some reconcile, some preach. While all these priestly people must serve God faithfully, some are ordained to mirror

and shape our ministry.

And now we pray; Christ Jesus, give your abundant grace to all who know they need you, to all who seek your face. Bind up the wounded, lead us to grow in holiness, and send us, for your name’s sake to heal, forgive and bless. © Elizabeth Smith Rejoice! 89 Rejoice! Rejoice! Christ is in you, The hope of glory in our hearts. He lives! He lives! His breath is in you! Arise a mighty army! We arise!

Now is the time for us to march upon the land: Into our hands he will give the ground we claim. He rides in majesty to lead us into victory:

The world shall see that Christ is Lord.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Christ is in you, The hope of glory in our hearts. He lives! He lives! His breath is in you! Arise a mighty army! We arise!

God is at work in us his purpose to perform, Building a kingdom of power not of words; Where things impossible by faith shall be made possible: Let's give the glory to him now.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Christ is in you, The hope of glory in our hearts. He lives! He lives! His breath is in you! Arise a mighty army! We arise!

Though we are weak, his grace is everything we need; We're made of clay but this treasure is within; He turns our weaknesses into his opportunities So that the glory goes to him.

90 Saviour, I heard your voice gently say: “Seek you my face, come, walk, child, with me”. Lord Jesus Christ, your face will I seek, My heart replies in worship to you.

Hear, O my Lord, when I call with my voice, Have mercy upon me and answer my cry. In your sweet presence my heart will rejoice: To your tender call my heart will reply. Saviour, I heard your voice gently say: “Seek you my face, come, walk, child, with me”. Lord Jesus Christ, your face will I seek, My heart replies in worship to you.

Hide not your face far from me, O Lord, And turn not thy servant in anger away.

My constant help have you been 'til today So do not forsake me or leave me, O God. Saviour, I heard your voice gently say: “Seek you my face, come, walk, child, with me”. Lord Jesus Christ, your face will I seek, My heart replies in worship to you.

In your great mercy teach me your way And out of your paths let me never depart. Wait on the Lord, be of courage, I say, And his loving-kindness shall strengthen your heart. 94 Take my gifts and let me love you, God who first of all loved me, gave me light and food and shelter, gave me life and set me free. Now, because your love has touched me, I have love to give away; now the bread of love is rising, loaves of love to multiply!

Take the fruit that I have gathered from the tree your Spirit sowed, harvest of your own compassion, juice that makes the wine of God; spiced with humour, laced with laughter- flavour of the Jesus life, tang of risk and new adventure, taste and zest beyond belief.

Take whatever I can offer- gifts that I have yet to find, skills that I am slow to sharpen, talents of the hand and mind, things made beautiful for others in the place where I must be: take my gifts and let me love you, God who first of all loved me. © words Shirley Murray © music Colin Gibson. Tell out, my soul, the greatness of his name! Make known his might, the deeds his arm has done; His mercy sure, from age to age the same. His holy name: the Lord, the mighty one.

Tell out my soul, the greatness of his might! Powers and dominions lay their glory by; Proud hearts and stubborn wills are put to flight; The hungry fed, the humble lifted high.

106 These hills where the hawk flies lonely, beaches where the long surf rolls, mountains where the snows meet heaven,

these are our care. Pastures where the sheep graze calmly, orchards where the apples grow, gardens where the roses cluster, these are our prayer.

Forests where the tree ferns tower, rivers running strong and clear, oceans where the great whales wander, these are our care. Race meeting race as equals, justice for age-old wrong, worth for every man and woman, these are our prayer.

Cities where the young roam restless, lives brought to deep despair, homeless and powerless people, these are our care. Places where the Word is spoken, hands held in serving love, faiths of our many cultures, these are our prayer.

109 We are companions on the journey,

Breaking bread and sharing life, And in the love we bear is the hope we share: For we believe in the love of our God; We believe in the love of our God.

No longer strangers to each other, No longer strangers in God's house; We are fed and we are nourished By the strength of those who care; By the strength of those who care. We are companions on the journey, Breaking bread and sharing life, And in the love we bear is the hope we share: For we believe in the love of our God; We believe in the love of our God.

We have been gifted with each other, And we are called by the Word of the Lord To act with justice, to love tenderly And to walk humbly with our God; To walk humbly with our God. We are companions on the journey, Breaking bread and sharing life, And in the love we bear is the hope we share: For we believe in the love of our God;

We believe in the love of our God.

We will seek and we shall find; We will knock and the door will be opened; We will ask and it shall be given: For we believe in the love of our God; We believe in the love of our God. We are companions on the journey, Breaking bread and sharing life, And in the love we bear is the hope we share: For we believe in the love of our God; We believe in the love of our God.

110 We are many, we are one, and the work of Christ is done when we learn to live in true community as the stars that fill the night, as a flock of birds in flight, as the cluster of the grapes upon the vine; as the branches of a tree, as the waves upon the sea, as the cluster of the grapes upon the vine.

All division is made whole when we honour every soul, find the life of God in every you and me; as the fingers of a hand, as the grains that form the sand, as the cluster of the grapes upon the vine; as the threads upon the loom, as a field of flowers in bloom, as the cluster of the grapes upon the vine.

We will join creation’s song, make a world where all belong, build as one in peace and loving harmony,

as the voices of a choir, as the flames within a fire, as the cluster of the grapes upon the vine; as the snowflakes in the snow, as the colours of a bow, as the cluster of the grapes upon the vine. © 1998 Colin Gibson. Faith Forever Singing NZHBT 2000

112 We have a gospel to proclaim, good news for all throughout the earth; the gospel of a Saviour's name: we sing his glory, tell his worth.

Tell of his birth at Bethlehem not in a royal house or hall but in a stable dark and dim: the Word made flesh, a light for all.

Tell of his death at Calvary, hated by those he came to save; in lonely suffering on the cross, for all he loved, his life he gave.

Tell of that glorious Easter morn: empty the tomb, for he was free: he broke the power of death and hell that we might share his victory.

Tell of his reign at God's right hand, by all creation glorified; he sends his Spirit on his church to live for him, the Lamb who died.

Now we rejoice to name him King: Jesus is Lord of all the earth; this gospel-message we proclaim: we sing his glory, tell his worth. © Edward Burns. Hymns for Today’s Church, 2nd music edition (London: Hodder, 1987)

114 When I survey the wondrous cross On which the Prince of Glory died, My richest gain I count as loss, And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast Save in the cross of Christ my God: All the very things that charm me most - I sacrifice them to his blood.

See from his head, his hands, his feet, Sorrow and love flow mingled down: when did such love and sorrow meet, Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realm of nature mine, That were an offering far too small; Love so amazing, so divine, Demands my soul, my life, my all. Hymns for Today’s Church, 2nd music edition (London: Hodder, 1987)

117 Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path; Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

When I feel afraid and think I've lost my way, still you're there right beside me. Nothing will I fear as long as you are near. Please be near me to the end. Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path; Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

I will not forget your love for me,

and yet my heart forever is wandering. Jesus be my guide and hold me to your side and I will love you to the end. 118 Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

120 De Colores, De Colores, the fields love to dress in all colours in springtime; De Colores, De Colores, the birds have their clothing that comes every season;

De Colores, De Colores, the rainbow is vested across the blue sky; De Colores, and so must all love be of every bright colour to make my heart cry. (Repeat)

De Colores, De Colores, we witness the sun up on clear and bright mornings; De Colores, De Colores, the sun gives its treasures, God's light to his children; De Colores, De Colores, the diamond will sparkle when brought to the light; De Colores, and so must all love be of every bright colour to make my heart cry. (Repeat)

Joyfully, joyfully we will live in God's friendship because he has willed it; Faithfully, faithfully we will slake the great thirsting of Christ the immortal; Joyfully, joyfully we will bring to our Saviour a harvest of souls Pouring outward the light from within the grace of God, his infinite love. (Repeat)

(Repeat)

S2 Go forth and tell! O church of God, awake! God’s saving news to all the nations take; proclaim Christ Jesus, saviour, Lord and king, that all the world his worthy praise may sing.

Go forth and tell! God’s love embraces all; he will in grace respond to all who call: how shall they call if they have never heard the gracious invitation of his word?

Go forth and tell where still the darkness lies; in wealth or want, the sinner surely dies: give us, O Lord, concern of heart and mind, a love like yours which cares for all mankind.

Go forth and tell! The doors are open wide: share God’s good gifts; let no one be denied; live out your life as Christ your Lord shall choose; your ransomed powers for his sole glory use.

Go forth and tell! O church of God arise! Go forth in the strength which Christ your Lord supplies; go till all nations his great name adore, and serve him, Lord and King, for ever more. © John Barnard, M. Seddon. Hymns for Today’s Church, 2nd music edition (London: Hodder, 1987)

S3 Goodnight, goodnight! Far flies the light; but still God’s love shall flame above, making all bright. Goodnight, goodnight!

As evening spreads its gentle wings, the angel choir just sings and sings of love, joy, peace, such sweet release. Goodnight, goodnight! Far flies the light; but still God’s love shall flame above, making all bright.

Goodnight, goodnight!

As evening whispers its silent call, the love of the Lord is cov’ring us all; keeping us safe from ev’ry fall. Goodnight, goodnight! Far flies the light; but still God’s love shall flame above, making all bright. Goodnight, goodnight!

As evening beckons with simple grace, may Jesus’ love still shine on your face; and tell to the world God’s love unfurled. Goodnight, goodnight! Far flies the light; but still God’s love shall flame above, making all bright. Goodnight, goodnight! © 1978 St Paul’s Outreach Trust. S4 Here is love vast as the ocean, loving kindness as the flood, When the Prince of Life, our ransom, shed for us his precious blood. Who his love will not remember? Who can cease to sing his praise? He can never be forgotten throughout heaven’s eternal days.

On the mount of crucifixion, fountains opened deep and wide; Through the floodgates of God’s mercy flowed a vast and gracious tide.

Grace and love, like mighty rivers, poured incessant from above, And heaven’s peace and perfect justice kissed a guilty world in love. Grace and love, like mighty rivers… © unknown

S5 I thank my God each time I think of you; and when I pray for you, I pray with joy!

Now there is one thing I am sure of: he who began this work in you will see that it is truly finished when the day of Jesus comes! I thank my God each time I think of you; and when I pray for you, I pray with joy!

That I should feel like this towards you seems only natural to me; for you have shared with me my labours, the Gospel privilege with me! I thank my God each time I think of you; and when I pray for you, I pray with joy!

Since you have borne with me my burdens, I now bear you within my heart! and God alone knows how I miss you; I love you just as Christ loves me! I thank my God each time I think of you; and when I pray for you, I pray with joy!

I pray your knowledge will be deepened; your love be mutual and strong! Then you will reach the perfect goodness; then to the Lord you will belong! I thank my God each time I think of you;

and when I pray for you, I pray with joy! © Eagle’s Wings: Scripture in Song [tape] (Kensington, NSW: Chevalier Bookshop)

S7 May the light of Jesus shine through all the world! Let his pure light shine, through these eyes of yours and mine. May the light of Jesus shine through all the world;

may it shine through us!

May the love of Jesus enter every heart, into brokenness and strife, bringing healing and new life! May the love of Jesus enter every heart; may it shine through us! Go out, go out! Go out, go out! Go out into God’s world. Go out and take his healing peace, his everlasting love. Sing out, sing out! With joy, with joy! Let our praises ring! Shout to all the world that Jesus Christ is King!

May the peace of Jesus dwell in all our lives through the length of all our days, in our prayer and through our praise! May the peace of Jesus dwell in all our lives; may it shine through us!

May the joy of Jesus ring through all the earth to a world that needs to know that their Father loves them so.

May the joy of Jesus ring through all the earth; may it shine through us! Go out, go out! Go out, go out! Go out into God’s world. Go out and take his healing peace, his everlasting love. Sing out, sing out! With joy, with joy! Let our praises ring! Shout to all the world that Jesus Christ is King!

S9 O the seed is the word that is planted, to bring forth a harvest of love. That seed in our heart it is planted by Jesus the sower of love.

Some seed was eaten by birds, some seed was burnt by the sun, some seed was choked by the weeds, but not the seed that is planted in our hearts.

S11 You are worthy, you are worthy, You are worthy, O Lord; You are worthy to receive glory, Glory and honour and power: For you have created, have all things created, For you have created all things; And for your pleasure they are created: You are worthy, O Lord!

You are worthy, you are worthy,

You are worthy, O Lamb; You are worthy to receive glory and power at the Father’s right hand. For you have redeemed us, have ransomed and cleaned us, by your blood setting us free; in white robes arrayed us, kings and priests made us, and we are reigning in thee.
