APPENDIX A Wendover Local Area Forum Local Priorities 2014 Wendover Local Area Forum (LAF) invited its Youth Forum to run its local priorities process which involved consulting with residents to see if the LAF should revise its local priorities. Residents in the local area parishes (Aston Clinton, Buckland, Drayton Beauchamp, Halton, Stoke Mandeville, Wendover and Weston Turville) were surveyed and invited to rank their priorities and provide comment on the reasons behind these rankings. The local priorities budget will be allocated to the top actionable local priorities, subject to agreement by the Wendover Parish Council provided a stand at Wendover LAF, so over the next two years work Market. Another aspiration of this project Doing this project has helped me to understand was to enable the Youth Forum to play the needs in the community. I met people that lived in my area that I didn’t know. The things a wider role in the LAF and also to take that we have worked on in the forum have made a lead in the local democratic process. a difference and we can see things starting to Wendover Local Area Forum is happen. Because of the Youth Forum, I got to represent also the first to devolve a budget to its young people across the area and share my Youth Forum to work on the priority: thoughts and ideas with BCC Youth Service, Activities and facilities for young which affects things for the future.

  • Half a Million Years of Life in Bucks. Theresa Wren
Human: Half a Million Years of Life in Bucks. Theresa Wren UCL Institute of Archaeology Since George Liscombe’s Victoria County History (1831-1847 and 1905-1927) subsequent comprehensive studies of Buckinghamshire County history have been scarce. The exhibition Human (6th March-11th July 2010) and its accompanying publication; An Illustrated History of Early Buckinghamshire, (Farley 2010), aim to resolve such a hiatus. Both book and exhibition chronicle the local archaeology, spanning over a century of fieldwork, and places local level archaeology within an epic narration of human history. Presenting local archaeology thus lends it with the wider relevance that will hopefully inspire increased patronage of local museums, presently about to be hardest hit by current economic policies. The exhibition is a collaborative achievement by the Buckinghamshire County Museum curatorial team. Both exhibition and book are divided into five time periods, threaded together by themes intrinsic to all human communities; living, dying, fighting, climate and food. Time is rendered dimensionally as well as visually by colour-coordinated plaques of varying thickness and a painted blue line running from reception to exhibition room indicating the Ice Age, all on a relative scale. Therefore, the timescale of human history is experienced physically and this works as an effective mnemonic device. Larger than life portraits of past individuals by Alan Marshall were specially commissioned by the museum to welcome the visitor to each new period. These are not scientific reconstructions but primarily drawn from briefs containing information on the remains and burial goods of locally recovered individuals. Marshall’s final likenesses are based on his own family members, rendering these beautiful illustrations warm and accessible.

This delay has been caused mainly by the discovery, during the preparation of the work, that many of the documents which go to make up a Sessions Roll had become misplaced. It was thus necessary to examine and arrange all the rolls for a period long after the date when this calendar was likely to end, in order to ensure that all records covering the period would be brought together and noted in the calendar.

  • Drayton Beauchamp
DRAYTON BEAUCHAMP IV. MANORIAL HISTORY. The account of Drayton Beauchamp, in the "Domes- day Survey," is as follows :— " The lands of Earl Morton; in Erlai Hundred. "In Drayton, William, the son of Nigel, holds one hide and a half. The arable one carucate; the pasture one carucate; and woods for twenty-five hogs. It is valued, and always has been valued, at twenty shillings. This land was held previously by the widow of Brictric, and she had power to sell it. In the same village, Lipsi holds of tlie Earl one hide and a half, and two-thirds of a virgate. The arable is one caru- cate. There are two villeins,* two serfs, one carucate of pasture, and woods for twenty-five hogs. It is valued, and always has been valued, at seventy shillings. This land was previously held by a vassal of King Edward, and he was entitled to sell it. "The lands of Magno Brito, in Erlai Hundred. "In Drayton, Helgot holds of Magno Brito six hides and three virgates for one manor and three acres. The arable land is four caru- cates. In the demesne is one, and thirteen villeins have three carucates. There are two servants, three carucates of pasture, and woods for two hundred hogs. The whole is worth, and is valued at, four pounds — in the time of King Edward one hundred shillings. Aluric, a thane of King Edward's, held this manor and could sell it." By the foregoing account, which was given between fourteen and twenty years after the Conquest, we find that all the Saxon proprietors had been dispossessed, and that their lands had passed into the hands of two Norman Chieftains — the Earl of Morton and Magno Brito.

Aylesbury Vale District Council ‐ Housing Land Supply Calculation January 2014 Introduction This document sets out the calculations for the housing land supply in Aylesbury Vale District as at 30th September 2013. It uses the latest available published housing projections for the district, the 2011 interim CLG household projections to 2021 (published April 2013) and includes an allowance for a 3% vacancy rate in addition to the CLG figures. Assessment of current housing land supply The current supply of housing land in the District is made up from: Sites with planning permission; Sites that do not yet have planning permission, but that have been approved in principle, subject to the completion of a Section 106 or planning obligation agreement; Sites that are allocated in the Aylesbury Vale District Local Plan but that do not yet have planning permission or approval subject to a Section 106 agreement. All sites for 5 dwellings or more that are included in the supply have been individually assessed as being available, suitable and achievable. Wherever possible we have obtained up-to-date estimates of build rates from housing developers. All sites for under 5 dwellings that have full planning permission have been included in the supply, but the overall total has been subjected to a 10% discount to account for the fact that some sites will not be implemented.
