LA GALERIE PRESENTS “Celestial Realm - MT. Huangshan” WITH WANG WUSHENG

Exhibition of photography

La Galerie is delighted to present a collection of works of Wang Wusheng in the upcoming exhibition “Celestial Realm - MT. Huangshan” in March. Mt. Huangshan will be exhibiting part of the collection of Huangshan series by Wang Wusheng. This collection is one of the remarkable works of Wang. It has been exhibited in United States, , and China since the late 80s.

Wang Wusheng captures the mysterious sense of infinity of these iconic mountains in Huangshan, the Yellow Mountain, , which inspired most glorious Chinese painters. Wang Wusheng says: "These mountains are not mountains, they are the mountains of my mind, they are Qi, black, grey and white balanced to be energy". Wang Wusheng lived 30 years in Japan, coming back to shoot his pictures in China, dedicated to his one life's sole work, Celestial Realm.

Born in 1945 in city Anhui Province, China, Wang Wusheng graduated in Physics at Anhui Normal University and in Arts at Arts University. He has worked as a journal photographer of the Anhui Newsphoto and Pictorial. He began shooting Hunagshan in 1974.

His photographs are represented in numerous public and private collections, including Friedrich Christian Flick Collection in , the Kunsthistorisches Museum in , National Art Museum of China in , Art Museum, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, Robert Klein Gallery in Boston, Kunsthalle Krems in , and in , United States, Ukraine.

Wang Wusheng

Born in 1945 in Wuhu city Anhui Province, China, Wang Wusheng graduated in Physics at Anhui Normal University and in Arts at Tokyo Arts University. He has worked as a journal photographer of the Anhui Newsphoto and Pictorial. He began shooting Hunagshan in 1974.

LA GALERIE FOUNDERS

Cyril Delettre started as photo journalist working with celebrities for national magazines (Paris Match, L'Express, VSD, Les Cahiers du Cinéma, Le Nouvel Observateur, le Figaro Magazine, Balthazar) before starting to develop artistic projects. For the past few years he has shared his time between art exhibitions, large corporate projects in France (including monumental works for French railway stations) and directing short movies. Marie-Florence Gros worked in business consulting before starting an artistic career. First recognized as a lyricist (working in collaboration with major French artists), she also found success as author with her first book “Tout contre”. She has a PhD in 18th- Century French Literature (Paris Sorbonne) and an MBA from the HEC Paris Business School. With a very sharp and artistic vision, she collaborates on different projects associating texts and visual art such as photography (exhibition Paris/New York, Grandes Lignes with the photographs of Cyril Delettre) or short movies.
