Additionally, the Naperville Jaycees are pleased to announce the much‐anticipated Saturday night headliner, country star Craig Morgan. Morgan recently released a new album, “This Ole Boy” in June of this year, which debuted in the top 5 on the Country Charts. “We are excited to be bringing two big country acts this year,” said Brian Scott, Co‐Executive Director of the Last Fling. “Craig Morgan’s songs are a staple on the country charts, and with the release of his new album, this is sure to be a crowd pleaser.” The full evening lineups and Main Stage ticket price for each day are as follows: Friday, August 31st – Tickets are $10, children under 11 are free with paying adult 8:00 – 10:00 PM: Ides of March with Jim Peterik Chicago’s own, Ides of March are best known for hits such as “Vehicle,” have had hits in every decade since forming in 1966. An American Rock band hailing from New York, BOC is best known for “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” “Burnin’ for You” and “Godzilla.” BOC has sold over 24 million albums worldwide. ### The Naperville Jaycees is a not‐for‐profit service organization with more than 100 young persons dedicated to providing Naperville area residents with the opportunity to better themselves and grow personally and professionally while giving back to the community through community service and fundraising efforts. Annual events include, Mardi Gras Fundraising Ball, Santa Train, Loaves and Fishes Food Baskets, and countless other worthwhile projects that positively impact the community. The group also organizes and staffs The Last Fling in close cooperation with the City of Naperville, the Naperville Park District, numerous Naperville community organizations, and hundreds of volunteers. Proceeds from the Last Fling are given to nonprofit organizations in the community and throughout DuPage County.     Clark 1 Maureen Clark Senior Thesis Dr. Paul Schuette 3/24/2019 Girls Just Wanna Have Equality: Sexism in the 1980’s Music Industry By the 1980s, women were finally making their way into the American workforce. One can see that in many aspects of 1980s pop culture from the shoulder pads in women's suits in an attempt to make them appear more masculine and powerful as well as female empowerment movies like “Working Girl”. However, this rise in female empowerment was definity experienced most within the music, where female artist like Madonna to The Go-Go's were dominating the charts and the workplace. Despite the success that they were achieving, however, most women were still struggling to be seen as authentic or genuine, and most importantly they were fighting to be on an equal playing field as men. Webster's Dictionary defines marginalized as: “(of a person, group, or concept) treated as insignificant or peripheral”. Women have always been a marginalized group within the music industry since its conception, just like in almost every aspect of history. However, by the 1980s, women were entering the workforce at a more rapid rate than ever before, this affected every aspect of American culture along with its music. Despite more representation within the workforce, women in music were still often dismissed, despite the fact that many women and girl groups were making some of the most successful music during that decade. One reason for Clark 2 this had to do with the rise of MTV along with the sexism that has always existed in the music industry.

At the dawn of MTV, Pat was the image of the female rocker for an entire generation of young women … and the young men who loved them. Still going strong today, Pat has been married for 29 years to accomplished guitarist and songwriter, Neil Giraldo.
